Chic Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 - New MOD for Vehicle Smoke - For public version 1.2.15 To install: 1. Backup the original FireVehicle.lua file from ...DCS/Bazar/ParticleEffects/effects folder (in case you don't like this one) 2. Extract attached file to ...DCS/Bazar/ParticleEffects/effects folder Note: The smoke will disipate (get smaller) with time I was not able to change smoke duration so this is the same as now, just the smoke will look better and more realistic. Performance wise, I only get low FPS when I am very close to the smoke (probably because my whole screen gets filled with it, and I run 4K resolution). Normal flying I still get good FPS. And you can always test yourself :music_whistling: Kuky, I'm assuming I can JSGMEize this file. Thank you. Rapidfire Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 (edited) ok I got the smoke mode to work but they still have no height increase. before the big 1.2.16 change I had a couple of 100ft and up to see from 15 miles out, now I cant see the smoke from 15 miles out. any Ideas? I did remove the texture folder in the files to get it to work, they where redundant? or are they different, as I didn't see any difference's. From the original files to the ones in this mod. further testing: I think it has something to do with the Mod visibility distance.. I'll check on that next. ok made some changes in the lua there's nothing different, so seems to only be visible from 10nm. Edited May 22, 2015 by Rapidfire :music_whistling:

RightStuff Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 yes! By far putting in the most realism to the sim. The smoke of the burned vehicles looks awesome!
OverDhill Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 Someone mentioned that the time of the smoke is not as long as the original MOD. Is this true? If so no way to change it? (going by what someone that used to use the old one)

(going by what someone that used to use the old one) If you go into the LUA file the mod gives you there should be a time setting, you can tinker with that, it should work.
