  2. I have tried the ground steering/differential braking again, and I'm totally happy. Version: 2.9.19,13478 MT Terrain: Caucasus on runway (not carrier) Air base: Kutaisi Controls bindings: - Rudder pedals to axis "Rudder" - Gear Brakes left and right to axes "Gear brake left" & "Gear brake right" 1. No wind Observations: 1.1 Taxying, Steering without Gear Brakes (Tail Wheel" unlocked): Without touching the brakes, I can steer her gently left and right, feels a bit like in the Mustang. I suspect that's the effect of the propeller air stream hitting the rudder. 1.2 Sharp turns: I combine pedals with gentle differential braking. This works very nicely. I love it. Compared with other warbirds it's a piece of cake. So far, but... 2.1 Wind 5 m/s from 0 Deg (North): Quite manageable 2.2 Wind 10m/s from 0 Deg: Becoming unmanageable. She wants to turn into the wind 2.3 Wind 20 m/s from 0 DEG: Totally unmanageable. I think she wants to turn into the wind, like a big weather vane. Looks like the wind effect on the rudder is overdone.
  3. Hi all, Looking for a Vietnam era C-130 skin. Can't find anything on the user files. I'm amazed nobody has done something like this yet? If it does exist, I'd really appreciate if you could point me in the right direction. Cheers!
  4. The FOV before was wrong, AND it made things in the mirror so small as to be practically useless. All that needs to be fixed is the mirror angle, and toning down pilot movements so they're 1:1 with the player and he's not leaning way the hell out over the side when you turn your head an inch or two.

  7. I think that tor cant defend harms that are supersonic on final fase (or "fast", cant assure exactly a number). Thats why it easily engage mavs.
  8. Works like a charm w/o wind and a static carrier. But once its moving and /or has wind over the deck, you cant get past 90deg. corsair taxis no wind.trk corsair taxis speedy carrier and wind.trk corsair taxis speedy carrier no wind.trk
  9. Doing some more testing it seems the jammer is precluding it from showing up. Barrage mode approaching the threat it won't show when it tracks, fires etc. It will show up just before missile hits you. Self Protect you get some tones at first but then will subside and be intermittent despite it tracking and fired missile tracking you. This behavior is only for when the Snow Drift vehicle is part of the group. If just TELMARs it works as I would think is normal. It almost seems like it is Jamming us not them as it doesnt seem to have any effect on the SD radar range vs just a TELMAR without an SD as part of the group No idea if the jammer should kill your RWR receiver I will defer to the experts.SA11 TEST.trk
  10. I really hope this type of work is replicated in the Iraq map. The vegetation there is a lot less than sub par for low level flying. A lot of Iraq's map by the center of the high quality areas have very dull, sparse and homogenous vegetation like no care were taken to place them by any system or human.

As are the new assets. Perhaps go back in time a little next? some older (50s, 60s) systems? An mayhaps one day we'll hear something positive about the razscam situation. That'd be sweet. DCS is not complete without the harrier, strike eagle, mirage2k and farmer.
  12. No, the LANTIRN does not communicate with the Tomcat's A/G modes. It barely interfaces with the rest of the Tomcat at all.

  14. Disable the historical units switch, the small clock watch on the bottom of the screen in the mission editor. The new units have a [CH] by the end of their names. The packs from Currenthill's website have a [CH] before the unit's names.
  15. Yes Ive upgraded this afternoon to the same......Flying both F16 and F18 the cockpits are consrtantly Vibrating or shaking, anyone else getting this??
  16. These 2 statics were generated (by the same code) using coalition.addStaticObject(). As you can see, both objects are created, and both are visible on the F10 map. For some reason, however, the smoke has its altitude set to absolute 0. The net effect of this is that the smoke is not visible in the sim (presumably it is under the level of the land). Why does the airshow cone have it's altitude set correctly (and thus is visible in the sim), but the smoke does not? For laughs (or tears), I've tried adding a "z" field, an "alt" field and an "altitude" field, each set with the elevation of the ground at the coords of the object, with no change in behavior. The big smoke object (and perhaps others) behave differently than "normal" statics. Does anyone know why?
  17. Ok. What i found is that WIND plays a huge role, even like 3 m/s. If you create a vanilla mission, no wind etc. you can swing her around easily. Unlock the tailwheel, full left rudder(or right as you wish), step on left brake, apply full power (not to enter water). She´ll start to yaw. After you gave a good jolt, immediatelly throttle back or youll get the nose over. You can work out a sweet spot for it. However, if you add wind to it, it turns impossible. Once you hit 90 deg towards the wind she will act as a huge airbrake and you cannot continue to turn in the same direction. You can in the other direction tho. For carrier operations you need wind! How is this supposed to work? I can attach a track.
  18. Здравствуйте! Я давно уже хотел задать вопросы по нюансам Ме-109, но думал сначала докопаться сам. Сначала вопрос по маневренным качествам. Большинство английских отчётов из открытого доступа фантанируют оптимизмом: уступает, мол, немец в маневренности и нечего ему ловить на виражах со "Спитфайром" и "Харрикейном". Но! В одной из статей мне попалась цитата на русском: "в ускорении "Харрикейн" стоит ниже "Спитфайра и Ме-109Е". Дело было давно, я почти не знал понял матчасти и меня озадачила эта фраза: при чём тут маневренность и ускорение? Но потом, когда я узнал что маневренность измеряется в том числе и перегрузками, меня осенило - так может быть имелась ввиду располагаемая перегрузка, а наши переводчики просто тупо скопировали с машинного перевода и сами не поняли смысла? Но это означает, что "мессер" превосходил "Харрикейн" по крайней мере по располагаемой перегрузке! Так же на странице http://kurfurst.org/Tactical_trials/109E_UKtrials/Morgan.html имеется отчёт, где имеется интересная фраза When the Me.109 was following the Hurricane or Spitfire, it was found that our aircraft turned inside the Me.109 without difficulty when flown by determined pilots who were not afraid to pull their aircraft round hard in a tight turn. Как так? Имея время виража 19 секунд против 25 секунд у Ме-109Е?! Может быть, Ме-109Е превосходил по перегрузке и "Спитфайр"? Мои подозрения получили подтверждения, когда пообщался (увы, очень непродолжительное время!) с гораздо более опытным любителем авиации. (Он поделился со мной интереснейшими сведениями о FW-190A, но об этом я расскажу в ветке про А-8). А по "мессеру" он в частности сообщил, что Ме-109Е мог развернуться с радиусом 187 метров, правда, только на 180 градусов и потерей скорости, но и "Спитфайр не мог повторить его маневр. Увы, источником он не поделился и сам как пропал, даже его блог мертв уже несколько лет... Очень хотелось бы получить подтверждение правильности своих выводов, особенно буду рад, если ответит Дмитрий Yo-Yo))))

  21. Still it worked before. Now i did another t/o and landing and it was fine. I´m at a loss. Again, i tried this with several settings as per tracks. Open cowls etc, closed cowls. Engine died. It wasnt like that with the prior version. Temps look all good.
