I assume the choice of seat was two fold, i.e. SimReality were I believe primarily focused on the racing sim market As the units can put you at some somewhat unusual angles, being fairly well held it is probably rather prudent, especially so as they're demonstrating the units. Imagine if a customer fell out and hurt themselves? Personally I use a seat from an older (NB) MX5, which I find much more comfortable than say a race seat, cost peanuts and makes me smile having owned three of them.

F-14B Afterburner Problem with DCS 2.9.6.57650
draconus replied to DP Spaz's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Do you use "enable afterburner gate" special option? For other problems remove mods, perform DCS repair and upload your dcs.log. -
Hello everyone, I would like to propose the possibility to give units (ground and naval only) the capability to create F10 marks using sensors (radar, optical or passive) and troops upon LOS only for enemy ground or naval units. This will allow editors not to use scripting for marks on the map. For example in the trigger list: Once -> unit xxxx detects enemy -> create f10 mark Thank you.

Well, for a starter, you would likely have to model them in blender/3ds first. After that, you have to give them some collision model so you don't fall through. And then, you can use either existing invisible FARPs for resupply, or try coding it as a FARP directly. However it seems like there is a size limit. If you make it too big you might get weird shadows. There's also someone who built a ramp for DCS, so if you experience weird glitches with the collision model, perhaps that ramp has something special, if you need guidance.

Pantsir and Tor M2 shoot down Hellfires

Tor and sa10 can shoot down big gbu31's since a few updates back, that i know for sure. But the Gbu 38 will go trough defences -
Nobody has found a solution yet. And they have tried! So, I'd say that currently the answer is "no, unfortunately not"! Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk

What would you look for in case 3 anyway when you're supposed to be glued to the instruments? If you overflew the carrier due to bad approach it's easy to do 180 keeping steady bank, speed and alt. Then you do the same 5 miles downwind and you're back on the same course. You have to decide before if you do ACLS (you use data link then) or manual using ICLS. TACAN points you to the mother but you set the HSI course to the final bearing number so you can line up miles before trapping. SC guide contains good follow up on procedures so you don't just start your approach from anywhere. You get your distance, alt and bearing from mother after inbound call. Why trial and error and come up with your own "gaming tips" when all is there already proven IRL?

Confirming, was in a higher energy state than AI FW190 A8 as I was several thousand feet above it and yet it flew faster in a climb than I was flying towards it in a dive. The only way I caught up to it was because it started attacking B17s. We were also at an altitude where the A8's performance drops off significantly. Sadly, I have no recording.

default.dtc that is loaded automatically when found by DCS
Anubis_94 replied to darkman222's topic in DTC Wish List
Adding one voice to a default.dtc, avoiding to go through the "open DTC" UI that is overkill when you just want to load an already setup one. -

Liveries taking up too much space for planes I don't even own.
MAXsenna replied to MoCluck's topic in Game Performance Bugs
@MoCluck Oh, another Treesize user! You can safely delete them, but they will just be downloaded again. (Have a look at the latest wishlist thread, and give your opinions there). What you can do is move coremods to another disk, and just make a symbolic link back to the main folder. Many users have done this with maps when their disk gets full. My DCS installation is ≈1TB. https://www.howtogeek.com/16226/complete-guide-to-symbolic-links-symlinks-on-windows-or-linux/ There's even a shell extension you can use, which makes it all easy through a GUI. I know some other people are using even easier software to do this. The name escapes me though. Cheers! - Today

My DCS HDD is so full i cannot update the game and play it. Liveries for the F14 and F4 take up 34Gb of space between them. I don't even own these planes. This is a bit ridiculous. Is there a way to safely remove the liveries and not crash the game or move them to another drive?

Military Assets for DCS by Currenthill
MAXsenna replied to currenthill's topic in Static/AI Mods for DCS World
Latest DCS update contains the CH assets that are listed in the Newsletter/changelog. They are named differently from the mods in the modpacks. If you don't see them in the editor it's beacuse you haven't deactivated "historical mode". The little clock icon on the bottom of the Mission Editor screen. Cheers! -
Quick question: are you working on the entire rotor model or just the tail rotor? I'm a little confused because the main rotor also appears to have a torque problem, which has been confirmed. Good to hear that the yaw behaviour is being adjusted. I'm looking forward to seeing the results!

Thanks for your time on this super analysis. I'd tried the cowl closed, oil open 50% and the engine seized in short order. This one was cowl cracked open and oil open to the recommended 30% to see what happens, From my view the oil was always in the high blue, so I left it as is. Clearly 50% is the way to go, as I've always used this setting before and had no trouble. My rpm is on a rotor on the throttle and after 15 years use it has spikes at 100% and around 2400 rpm. I'm constantly chasing it as it can drop to zero without warning, so I tend to leave it alone if I find a sweet spot, which means I get sloppy on a reT/O as I forget where it is . Here are the temps at point of seize. I guess the engine damage accumulated to the point of destruction. Once again, thanks for your time. Regards. ..

Hello devs, Wah an AMAZING work Retribution truly is, thank you! I come from IL-2 SEOW world from some decade or so ago and this brings up memories. In the wiki introduction I see that this can be used as PvP environment. What is the support for PvP two teams in the planning phase? Is it possible to have two strategists planning Red and Blue moves for the next mission separately without the other side seeing planned missions in the planning phase in the app? That feature would be SUPERB, I would love to recreate the SEOW days. Best regards

You'll get different replies and experiences. I test drivers every release, with same games on same areas to check for microstuttering, looking at frametime graphs and 1% / 0.1% lows. In my own personal experience, the Nvidia's driver 537.58 are still notoriously the best for all RTX30-series GPUs, with 566.03 being a close second. Tested with different systems, with RTX 3090 24GB, RTX3080 10GB, RTX3060Ti 8GB, RTX3060 12GB and diferent CPUs (12700K, 12600KF, 10700K, 11400F, 5600X). Especially if it's a clean driver, it'll further increase such differences, as these are lighter and have all unnecessary bloatware removed from the official ones. There is a "Clean Version" driver (already debloated) of the mentioned 537.58 in HERE. If you really want the fully bloated "official" default version of 537.58, then it's HERE. Matter of opinion but, I would not recommend installing drivers after 566.36 on RTX 30 and RTX 40 series, where problems start to increase exponentially. But if you're one of those guys/gals that "have to have the latest driver" but just want a clean version, there's a fella doing them and are usually all up-to-date, with every new official Nvidia drivers release, in HERE. Or, you can debloat the official drivers all by yourself, by using NVCleanstall (link here). If you never done this, there's a video tutorial here (there may be others around) to see how it's done. Lastly, and as side note, never ever upgrade Nvidia drivers if the reason is only to get newest DLSS version, because you can download/install whatever DLSS version regardless of Nvidia driver version in use (drop the desired DLLs in same folder location where the game executable is): NVIDIA DLSS DLL --------------------------- https://www.techpowerup.com/download/nvidia-dlss-dll/ NVIDIA DLSS Frame Generation DLL -------- https://www.techpowerup.com/download/nvidia-dlss-3-frame-generation-dll/ NVIDIA DLSS Ray Reconstruction DLL ------ https://www.techpowerup.com/download/nvidia-dlss-3-ray-reconstruction-dll/

Hi, I've just uploaded my latest mission to the User files, I've tried to keep it realistic and atmospheric, starting with route flying and internal cargo transport, moving onto troop deployment into a hot LZ. The mission is set in Afghanistan around 2002, with RAF Chinooks supporting UK RM Commando ops in the areas around Bagram. The triggers are tested and working for single player, multicrew in a single aircraft, 2 aircraft multiplayer (and obviously multi crew there too). This could easily form part of a larger "campaign" if people like it...and I can find the time. The level and feel of the mission is very much in keeping with the amazing "Through the desert dust" Kiowa campaign by @YoYo. Though for this first one , I've not included VO or Music, just to get it out there. Enjoy. TJ Note, the real photo, taken from Op Snipe, is (C) POA(Phot) Tony Leather/MOD Used under OGL

At the recommendation of a chap on these forums, I contacted a newish kit supplier, i.e. SimReality, based near Horsham in Surrey (UK), booked a dem and went to meet with Theo about some of their gear. It wasn't perfect, but Theo was very positive and helpful. As I understand it, he's a dealer for DOF kit, Pimax and Moza. Unfortunately, he's currently waiting for a Moza AB9 and the release of their rudders and he didn't have DCS installed. Making up for that, he did have FS2020 running with the DOF6 setup, using a Moza throttle and Yoke. I tried that with both a monitor and a Pimax light. The DOF3 kit was used in driving mode with Asseto corsa on a monitor. Sorry, can't remember the FFB wheel/pedals. Thoughts: First off, a thumbs up to Theo The DOF6 has a significantly larger footprint on the floor, when compared to the DOF3 The DOF6 is something like twice the cost Turns out that the DOF3 can pitch, yaw and roll to wider angles than the DOF6. Linked to the cost difference, that would make the DOF6 a very hard sell Both of the units were using race style seats bolted to steel framework. I forgot to ask about using an aluminium profile setup, which is what I currently have, but with the pics/vids online, I assume that it's more than possible The seat on each of the frames was very low on the frame, meaning that mounting a joystick base "low" would have been difficult. I use my AB9 centre mounted. To achieve that on a DOF3, I'd need to have the seat on a thicker platform. Maybe 160mm, or a combo of that would work Maybe it was the tuning of the software, but both left me a little underwhelmed on the first try in each. It was less about the amount of roll, but more the speed of response. Neither felt truly natural, e.g. the squat you get under breaking whilst driving As mentioned, I got to try the Pimax Crystal light. Yes, noticeably sharper than my current Quest Pro. What I couldn't quite manage was to get it "dialled in" for myself. I found the periphery to be far less consistent, though sweet spot was pretty big and as mentioned, the visuals were a step on from the QP Whilst I wasn't that impressed with either DOF unit whilst using a monitor, that impression changed when in VR, which I got to use with FS2020. I can't explain why, but when I was in VR, the feeling of immersion from the DOF was significantly more effective Apparently SimReality are planning to stock the Dream Air, and I've already asked to be notified when they have an SE version, such that I can revisit them. For one thing, they'll hopefully also have an AB9, pedals and DCS by then (anticipated for early 2026)

Please Address Game Bloat from CoreMods & Excessive Liveries

And for texture mods, like Barthek's etc. Use SLAM as the mod manager. It will apply your mods in seconds and not wear out your SSDs. [emoji6] Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk Look up Rudel_chw's guide to OvGME. Very well written. Personally I have moved on to Open Mod Manager, which is the same dev as OvGME, and it's currently developed. OvGME is not. Also look up SLAM in the user files section/forum, as it's much MUCH better for large mods. Extremely easy to setup. Cheers! Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk- 42 replies
