DCS Retribution - Dynamic Campaign Generator
IMGX replied to Starfire13's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Hi, I can't fly the new high-fidelity MiG-29, only the FC3 one. Does anyone know how to configure it? Or maybe it hasn't been added yet. Thanks! -

Dont know about the procedures, but I will test the electric system updates as soon as I have free time available, in particular I want to see if these bugs have been solved: I will report my findings on those threads. Also, grateful for your hard work keeping the manual updated. Eduardo

missing track file Navigation Alignment after repair
KnuckleDaWae replied to KnuckleDaWae's topic in Bugs and Problems
Hi, Here's my track replay, it's the instant action cold start, I make the normal cold start then move around a little then I turn off the engine and switch, but can't re-align the plane, once the HSI is cage you can't uncaged it, it's locked forever Sorry I can't find how to attach the Track to the posts https://www.swisstransfer.com/d/b054fa53-c772-4647-969e-f346c499180c -
The Dream Air SE looks good too. Half the price of the Dream Air.

MiG-29 - The good, the bad, and the ugly
Hatman335 replied to av8orDave's topic in DCS: MiG-29A Fulcrum
That's not what he said, his comments were about the late 80s, where this is absolutely true. And the E is worse at BFM than the C or the Mig-29. But in any case that doesn't really matter, since before the end of the Cold War, the number of F-15s in Europe was lower than many people think. The Mig-29 very realistically could have gone against F-4Es, F-4Fs, F-16As and yeah a handful of F-15Cs, but that wasn't the primary air superiority fighter of NATO in Europe when it comes to raw numbers. -

Most Efficient BVR climb and Highest performance Speeds
zerO_crash replied to AeriaGloria's topic in DCS: MiG-29A Fulcrum
Why would you compare a MiG-29 to a F-15?! That's exactly why I state that you are making a ludicrous comparison. F-15 is a superiority fighter meant to operate behind enemy lines. It's counterpart was/is Su-27, which btw. outperforms the F-15 in many aspects, range being one of them. The MiG-29 is rather comparable to F-16, and you might as well complain that the F-16 has little internal fuel. F-16 has higher coin speed, thus BFM requiring energy to boot - higher energy means higher speed in this case. Higher speed, means less fuel efficiency for a non-delta design. In whichever way you want to look, it does not look favourable for either a F-16/F-15, least of all, costs. What is seldomly discussed as well, is that you wouldn't want too much fuel on an airframe if it is to operate in a relatively close vicinity to an airfield, simply because once the pilot theoretically expends his ammunition, he'll have to waste time eating up fuel to get down to maximum landing weight. A country like Israel has that worked out to perfection, they'd know (with 7 minute turn arounds and sustained airfield operations regime for at least 18-24 consecutive hrs). MiG-29 does not have little fuel at all, it's just that it has the ability to consume whatever fuel it has, incredibly quickly. -
In all the other helicopters I've flown, there is an option in the Special tab to disable rudder trim. But for AH-64D, this option is not there. I have spring pedals so the position of the rudder getting set whenever I trim is very inconvenient and honestly I have no idea how I'm ever going to get used to flying like this. Is there no way to disable it? Can't imagine it's hard to add just like all the other Helis have it? How do all of you with springs deal with it?

cmbaviator started following Low FPS on contention server
-
Hi. I wondering why im having 95% of the time bad FPS on server like contention : When i first spawn in, my FPS are generally capped at 120FPS which is great However short time after taking off, my FPS goes down to 40-60 FPs and averaging 40 FPS with my GPU at 30% usage. Then it will remain at 40-50 FPS until i leave the server ? Any idea why ? 4K /DLSS Performance RTX 3090 13900KS 32Gb RAM Currently on syria map as contention is on syria only until next rotation. havent tested on other map

It's still there. You can just see more AROUND it, but you the mirrors are still focused on the pilot unless you adjust them so far you can hardly see them at all.
-
Omg I could kiss you! Thank you! It works now.

I would love an old KC-707A

I forgot about the burst ranging part. However, the burst ranging is not for PDI. It's also used during normal STT coming from RGHPRF, VS acq and even MPRF to improve range accuracy. On the best case scenario. IF you could detect the difference between PDI and normal RGHPRF Track, you wouldn't get a warning when a missile is launched. You would get a warning that he is under the missile guidance waveform(PDI), meaning you simply don't know if there's a missile in the air. Had west germany erupted, warsaw bloc pilots would've taken nasty surpises straight up their cockpits. Like my PFP shows, straight into the hud.(IF the umbilical had been properly connected to the F15)

No. Data cartridge loading must be done in BER; in the past this was no requirement IIRC; on the other hand, the procedures requested it to be done in BER anyway, no other information was given before.

Закрылки не убираются а изменяют угол, это не одно и тоже. Что не понятно про СОС, я же привёл выдержку - коротко: "СОС-3 включается сразу после уборки шасси". Эта система работы автоматики предкрылков и закрылков, что очевидно.

Texture, Unit Of Measure, and Language Issue
BIGNEWY replied to Gustav960's topic in Bugs and Problems
Hi, Units of measurements refers to the HUD and HDD in this case, not the cockpit labels. -
lack of suitable evidence SPO-15 is way worst then it should be.
Muchocracker replied to LaCiKa's topic in Wish List
ED's claim in the manuals is that it specifically cannot blank out the radars HPRF waveform. My question would be then is does the forward hemisphere not get disabled when the radar is in persuit (MPRF) mode. Somebody will need to find evidence to back that theory up. ED seems to have modelled it as just disable it with no nuance. Instead of disabling it depending on what waveform it's transmitting. Details matter. -
So you get "nails"? If yes, then assume that you are being targeted. If this helps in any way, that is.

Today I noticed that the Redfor AWACS’s BRA callouts are broken, while the Bluefor AI AWACS works fine. Redfor AWACS’s BRA callout range is off by over 100 miles and altitude off by 20k or more. The contacts bearing is called correctly thought. At I first thought this was a bug related to the new MiG-29 module because loading into a Bluefor F-16 or F-18 had correct callouts from their corresponding Blue AWACS. But switching an F-16 to Redfor and the AWACS BRA would break again, or conversely, switch the MiG-29 to Bluefor and the callouts would be correct again. This was tested on Syria, Germany, Kola, and Afghanistan with the F-18, F-16, and MiG-29 from cold start, hot start, and air start, but the behavior remained the same. Switch E-3, E-2, A-50, or GCI units made no difference either. Only changing coalitions fixed the AWACS.

Yeah, I agree. I'm already to the point after having the module for about 24 hours that I'm done getting whacked by SAMs and AAMs. It simply isn't much fun to start up, take off, fly to a mission objective, and get thwacked without ever knowing it was coming. I play Retribution offline almost exclusively, and even with careful mission planning, it just isn't much fun to fly the -29.

Honestly…. I don’t know haha. I came from a G2 which was doing very well for me. FOV never bothered me. In the F18 with both headsets I can see just to the bottom outer edge of the canopy side mirrors with both sets. Never really minded on G2 and don’t mind now. Probably will order the ultra wide module for the headset and see if I prefer the extra FOV but I must say the 57PPD is so clear, it’s like I’m sitting in the cockpit. Don’t have to lean forward for a god damn thing, as clear as RL to be honest… it’s wild.

Both throttle of F4E and F14 are too sensitive
Moose_Jaw replied to LuckyArc3's topic in Heatblur Simulations
null@LuckyArc3 Hi mate, maybe set the afterburner detend from 70 to 80. It might help you with your problem that the throttles are too sensitive below mi power. Cheers
