  2. To be fair, you probably wouldn't taxi like that on a carrier in the first place. Aircraft would be moved to the launch positions by the flight crews.
  3. How'd you get the picture of the lightning strike in the first post? That shows a lightning strike with scattered clouds instead of the overcast required in the legacy weather system.
  4. @Morat Uh yeah. DCS's supersampling setting is always added on top of what you set globally with SteamVR. You were going crazy high per eye. In my case i never do SS settings in a game (DCS is at 1.0), i always go with SteamVR at 150% (which has one global setting plus one specific setting per game where you can add another factor to slightly finetune the global setting). My current global setting in SteamVR is ~4100x4200 per eye. Before using Quad Views and eye tracking you could see this directly in DCS's log file. Now with Quad Views enabled, it looks a bit different and shows the Quad View resolution outputs with DLSS: 2025-08-22 15:41:25.297 INFO DX11BACKEND (18664): Use DLSS preset 'K' 2025-08-22 15:41:25.350 INFO DX11BACKEND (18664): DLSS successfully initialized, 836x852 -> 1668x1700 2025-08-22 15:41:25.350 INFO DX11BACKEND (18664): Use DLSS preset 'K' 2025-08-22 15:41:25.385 INFO DX11BACKEND (18664): DLSS successfully initialized, 836x852 -> 1668x1700 2025-08-22 15:41:25.385 INFO DX11BACKEND (18664): Use DLSS preset 'K' 2025-08-22 15:41:25.419 INFO DX11BACKEND (18664): DLSS successfully initialized, 732x744 -> 1460x1488 2025-08-22 15:41:25.419 INFO DX11BACKEND (18664): Use DLSS preset 'K' 2025-08-22 15:41:25.454 INFO DX11BACKEND (18664): DLSS successfully initialized, 732x744 -> 1460x1488 One very important tweaking option for DCS is having an autexec.cfg in Savegame/DCS/Config: options.graphics.stereo_mode_use_shared_parser = false disable_write_track = true no_device_hotplug = true force_cross_eye_recovery_tool = false DLSS_Preset = "K" HUD_MFD_after_DLSS = true And why are you setting sharpening to 0.2? 5. Ive got this running pretty well using the latest PP software. There are some issues to work out but my first question 1) DFR and pimax eyetracking is awesome. It actually calibrates no problem and tracking seems almost flawless even when lifting up the headset to type something, it seems to track perfect after putting it back on. 2) The question is the square in the center of the FOV when using DFR. I thought this was just in the mirror window I didn't realize it was visible in the headset. I wish it would go away, it looks like a debug feature to check if DFR and eye tracking is working. Are we stuck with it? Why does it exist (what causes it) why dont I see it in the dcs menu? if it cant be removed can it be reduced? I find it pretty distracting. Thanks!
  6. I had the same question. Glad its not required to be online after paying for it. Thanks!
  7. Trialled it, surprisingly liked it (my first heli), but definitely not buying it until...
  8. Would love to have the ability to fly a F18/F16 in sim mode while non pilot friends are in vehicles in combined arms. Would really bring things together.
  9. Today
  10. DCS Apache seems to have the most unstable 'stability' system of any aircraft in the sim - surely it can't be that bad IRL? Have also shelved the Apache till it behaves like an aircraft with a actual 'stability' system.
  11. It IS possible. There are some excellent MP(1+ player) campaigns out there in files area that rival any paid content available. These aren't "dumbed down" at all. I'm aware of content for Hornet, Apache and Kiowa. My group of friends has enjoyed this content immensely. As far as someone releasing payware campaigns geared for multiple players, I don't see it happening. There are many triggers that either won't work in a MP environment or must be changed to accommodate the possibility of a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th player. Multicrew adds another wrinkle.... As someone who's written more than one MP campaign, I can attest it isn't easy. I just don't see any mainstream payware campaign creators signing up for the exponential level of effort without exploring a significant increase in campaign price.
  12. Go into your account in the PimaxPlay and hover your cursor over your avatar picture top-right. You can select "Offline Mode" there.
  13. That's a great feature. Thank you for the quick response.
  14. No, you won't. Once it's paid for you can click "Account" and turn it offline permanently, though you then won't get any software update notifications. Turn it back online occasionally for those, or wait for announcements from Pimax here for manual download.
  15. Hello everybody. looking at the pay half now half later thing, I am assuming I need to have the headset connect to pimax servers every time I use it to verify the headset payment status? And after I have paid the headset off completely, will it still need to connect to pimax servers or can I play offline with it? Many thanks in advance.
  16. The G2 was decent. Pico4 was pretty good. The OG was rough and hurt my nose after around 30 minutes. I bought the Bolo Strap for the Pico and the Apache for the OG, not that it helped any. Having earphones under the OG was betterer.
  17. im just sharing my experience with you. my PC is highly optimized. i delet fxo, win11 always up to date, i run DDU uninstall every time there is a nvidia update. i run quad views VR. not everything is set to high though i have a beefy PC.. im usually on multiplayer and i have NO issues other than what i have posted about your dlc. i did make a multiplayer mission once that had way too many objects that cause not only my machine to studder, but who ever join the mission. it is not my PC that is the issue. but its ok, you dont want to hear is the campaign so, that it then. i been running the fam flight and learning alot. you campaign is good, other than being at the nellis spawn area at the start.
  18. Well, the FreeCam uses the dcs cockpit camera view axis to look around, clicking the cockpit are even easier than i often do with head track. Actually I have my own sticks, but I m in college right now and i can't really bring em to school.
  19. No. Unfortunately the lightning shader is invoked by the game engine code when the PRECPTNS is set to Thunderstorm in the weather setting. No way for me activate in the weather presets.
  20. The USAF jets dont use LRS mode, they have RWS, TWS, VSR, ULS. Thats it, maybe some foreign jets have LRS but not US
  21. Are the scattered t-storm presets supposed to have lightning? I'm not seeing any.
  22. Try My Flight Model Mod In The User Files Under AH-64D
  23. Yeah I realize that. Honestly it seems just frustrating to me and not worthwhile. A basic joystick is quite inexpensive. The essential problem is that flying has an inverted Y-axis vs pointing with the mouse like you do in the clickable cockpit or for aiming.
  24. Thanks for the HU. This is really great work. Bowie
  25. It's reliable enough if you get good with it. I've had success with it as long as the SAM sites aren't too crowded. Otherwise you may find some of the Shrikes wandering off to where they can't reach because they picked up the other site first. The only slight point of frustration for me is that there isn't a seeker head that will target a Fan Song without also targeting the Range Finder for the SA-2. So, it's a bit of a luck of the draw which one the missiles will pick up. But, in general, I like to plan to use all 4 missiles for one site, 2 and 2 for the SR and TR each. Knocking out either one is a success. I usually start to pitch up for loft just within 20 miles.
