With the release of the F4U, the impending releases of the F6F, the Pacific Asset Pack, and the Zero, I think it's time to consider a playground for them to splash around in. So, I would like to respectfully submit the "Slot". Imagine a map stretching from the middle of Guadalcanal all the way to just beyond Kavieng, including Rabaul, full of airbases, naval action and Combined Arms On either side of the Slot you have large open bodies of water where the IJN and USN can fling airplanes at each other from fleet carriers. Whaddya think?! I can't remember if it's on the list, but you might want to throw in a G4M Betty, just to spice things up

@currenthill I think i'm screwing something up, yet if you culd help it I would be really gratefull. So I'm playing around with the Call Artillery Scripot, from MBot : My idea is is to use a OH-58D, and a AH-64D as FO (Forward Observer, which in real time is a job they perform) As FS (Fire Units) I'm using your M270 MLRS : 1 platoon of M270 GMLRS and 2 platoons of M270 ATACMS. Each platoon has 2 HEMTT M977 trucks attached to it to function as munition carriers. Now the part which is really driving nuts : If you send a call for fire to 1 of platoons (either GMLRS or ATACMS), the read back is "out of ammo" not able to fire. Yet when you use the "normal" M270 (which is already in DCS) they fire without a problem. I checked in Mission Editor if it's possible to see which, and how much ammo the GMLRS and ATACMS are carrying but I can't find it. Do you have a idea were I could look, or how to sort this out ? (If you think this has to do with MBot's Call Artillery Script and I should take it up with him, then sorry for bothering) -
yea, i play contractors VR exfil zone. when i get shot in certain areas, i will bleed out and become incapacitated. all ideas great! better than current state of DCS infantry! other note.. i made mission where i placed infantry units on top of tall buildings.. at the slightest alert, like near by explosions, the Ai infantry would run off the building and sometimes scurry like roaches lol.. but they are still alive after falling 10 stories! lol

Как по мне, фича на старте оказала не совсем работоспособной, хотя и очень нужной. Какие уж тут новые функции (?) . Элементарное сохранение на земле , после посадки - не работает (или работает через раз). Сохраняешься на земле, а при запуске - оказываешься в воздухе. Это не серьезно.

Agreed the YF-23 has the refueling receptacle centered. I think the name of this topic is... I guess the creator of the MOD decided to add some refueling markings on the port side for no reason. -
Ya, nice polished mission. Well done @jonsky7! One very minor little bug: navigator told me he closed bomb bay doors after I dropped, but I noticed the light was still lit for them being open as I was flying back across the channel.

I had always assumed it was just a DCS-ism and done Ground Jettison to refuel them. Will try opening the fuel door next time. Thanks for that.

Yes mate. I'll give it a go. Update on the unit too...Windows recognises when it's plugged in and removed with a sound notification but I don't know what the OS has named it.

Sight depression calculation with Bombing table for Laydown is incorrect?

Just tried setting zero aircraft weight in bombing table, resulting sight depression makes it so the bombs fall way short of target. Screenshot shows reticle position while overflying IP. So, with zero weight depression is too low. I tried setting the correct depression manually while sitting in an active pause over the IP (by adjusting sight depression until the reticle is over the target), for this case (Mk 82, 450 KTAS, 3000 Ft, 4 nm IP-TGT) the setting was 119-120 mils. Then I tried to enter total aircraft weight that will result in 119 mils calculated depression, it was around 27000-27900 lbs. Edit: 118 mils results in this: Slightly short (no release advance was set), but pretty close for this release mode. -
The SU17M4 would be the perfect aircraft for DCS. Very fast, good avionics, and capable of carrying powerful weapons, such as the KH29T, KH59 cruise missile, and KH58 anti-radar missile. But there's no official confirmation, is there? The mig23ml/a/d is needed so that the F4 and F1 have an equal opponent.

Just a question about the asset packs - is it just models or also AI? Or is it somehow limited by some "core AI"? Because my sense of immersion is much more destroyed when I see a bunch of army guys tackling a very difficult problem called "a fence" or even "going around a building", acting like idiots, really. In that moment, I just don't care whether they are a modern or WWII unit. Sure, DCS planes also have bugs, often unattended for a decade, but at least they are the core experience. Too much stuff is deemed not important for years - even in planes - but when it comes to tech packs, it's another level. NS430 having no radio (although prominently mentioned on the shop page), CA is more of a gimmick with many quality issues, so maybe that's why my perception of anything beyond aircraft and maps (although... maps are also getting complicated) is a bit stained. Don't worry, I'll likely buy it, but pardon my Stockholm syndrome. There is a reason for it.

CMs already stated the team responsible for other REDfor planes will be the MiG-29 team and that product must be successful. Recent posts made clear there are intentions of making popular Russian jets and the F-35 has nothing to do with it. The only thing keeping ED from making them is workforce as of now as things seems to have switched from the past years. They just need to get the 29A out of the door and the community that begs for redfor aircraft needs to buy it.

I feel like if the "credible" F35 module is liked by the customers, ED may consider recent Russian aircraft with "credible" level of simulation. For older aircraft like mig 23 or su 22, everything is possible. This is what I believe

Keep in mind you guys, with any TGP installed, the Viper needs a bit of rudder trim out of neutral if you're after a perfectly steady trimmed plane. Not mandatory. I found myself going after trimming roll all the time up high and a bit of rudder trim resolved the unwanted yaw/roll. (it is really tiny)
