That‘s my plan as well. We will see how it goes. I‘m looking forward to any release of manuals and/or supporting documents.

Just look which brand pops up when starting DCS. Hint: It's not AMD. Unfortunately, DCS focuses on DLSS and DLAA while neglecting newer FSR versions and there are no plans to integrate the latter. There's probably a cooperation with Nvidia of some kind. I had a 1080 until recently and it was totally fine with medium to high settings on 1440p, so much higher settings than yours. Despite not supporting DLSS/DLAA. I mean the SC on a heavy multiplayer session IS challenging, no doubt. But you should at least get 30+ FPS and no stuttering. The only differences I had were the lower preload radius, MSAA 2x and I also used Vsync and a max. FPS of 80 (which I never achieved anyway). Everything else, I had set higher. Have you set up your page file correctly for your 64GB of RAM? Have you tried Vsync? Have you some kind of cards settings that override the ingame settings? And have you tried a benchmark like HeavenBenchmark (it's free) to look if it's a general problem or a DCS problem?

To me the movements look a bit jerky, unlike a plane. I fly real warbirds, aerobatics and do dogfight simulations, real life movements are smoother , with that being said , I have never tried a motion rig myself, would love to try one and hopefully like it. VR flight sim guy, I dont believe anything he says, everything is amazing awesome until the next thing comes out.

I expect ED to shoot some of not all the ideas down. I'm going to go over each one. First paid ATC- ATC should be part of DCS core this is the type of thing that would really cause problems online. Improved terrain- most maps are already paid DLC. Wether or not people are willing to buy upgrades of stuff they already own comes down to cost and what they get. I could see a lot of interest in buying an expanded Pascific map that includes the Marianas (provided it won't melt your CPU) as well as an expanded Caucuses map using a set up like Afganistan where everyone gets access to a low detail map for online games. I could also see the same deal working for the Nevada map- make the expanded version the US South West which ideally would ideally include Fallon, Mirimar, and Holloman. If the developers could coordinate ED a massive Mid east map would be awesome. The idea for the mega mideast map would be ED would work on a very small strip around each map Dynamic campaign- I could see this going either way. I believe ED wants to make this part of DCS core, the main argument against doing it this way is I think it would have been done a lot sooner. As long as you don't need the dynamic campaign to connect to a server with a dynamic campaign running I don't see any issues.

The modern Carrier and wingman audio kills the WW2 immersion. An era-specific update would be appreciated. AI should make it far easier, without the need for voice actors.

I'm not trolling. I'm just amused by some of the issues you're reporting here. This is Russian equipment from the 1980s, and that's how it worked. It's like the behavior of a child who needs everything handed to them on a plate because if something requires a little more effort, it's definitely broken. Cheers.

A naval F4 from HeatBlur would be amazing.

Update: Managed to get custom text working, just trying to figure out formatting. if anyones interested this is one of the packets They seem to be bundled by 6 bytes. The last 2 bytes are the text in ASCII as hex. The first 4 seem to be color, but very weirdly For example 4200 is white, but if you change it to 4201 it becomes pink and moves to the top left corner, so im still trying to figure that out. Also inulln the screenshot of my ide the blue stuff is the actual text but the green stuff has to be sent too for it to work and i dont know what that is yet Python style comments (everything after a #) # TEXT "f2" # Position seems encoded by order # first 2 bytes seem to be color "4200""48" #H "4200""65" #E "4200""6C" #L "0801""6C" #L "4200""6F" #O "6300""20" #SPACE "8400""57" #W "a500""6F" #O "c600""72" #R "e700""6C" #L "0801""64" #D "2901""20" #SPACE "4a01""49" #I "0000""6D" #M "4200""20" #SPACE "4200""4B" #K "4200""75" #U "4200""72" #R "4200""69" #I "4200""73" #S "4200""75",#U

Thanks for the input, I've since messed about with it and found out we can use the ARC-186 radio via the back-up panel on the center pedestal as a "normal radio" which functions more or less as one would expect (Ignoring the fact that it is a back-up panel and shouldn't be our primary radio control!). The whole CDU is kinda wonky as it currently rests with many pages either not working or leading to black screens, as for the U2 frequency, I've found you can change it in the CDU but ONLY via the MSN page, it will NOT WORK via the CNI page which basically ignores all input. Overall really enjoying the helicopter, but it really needs more updates and at a minimum core avionics to work somewhat correctly! I'm sure ED will turn her into a great helo eventually and as of now I am greatly looking forward to more progress on this unique chopper!

UPDATE v2.72 Finally added working aerial refueling, works both for player (could not do it to test it all the way due to a lack of skill) and AI aircraft, added slats animation, which activates when above 8000m and below 0,8M - from documentation I found. Some SFM tweaks on subsonic regimes. Also huge thanks to Brzoza - @StalkerXDPL for many great new liveries and hopefully many more to come in the future.

I was thinking of getting either the H3 or H6 so I added them to the basket to find out about other costs. You have to buy the rig, plus a seat, keyboard mount, HOTAS mounts and I think there were 2 more things I'd need...and the kit only has a 12 month warranty. The H3 came out at around £5k and the H6 a lot more. I'd want a lot more than 12 months warranty fot that amount of dosh. P&P is very expensive too...anywhere from £250 to just under £400 and then you have customs import charges too. I'd rather get a good chair and 2 over excited huskies to move it around.

Using Process Lasso to assign e-cores
USA_Recon replied to The_Nephilim's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
On the VR note… is there any value in assigning that one p-core to the VR headset process vs. leaving it open ? Challenge might be determining the HMD process, ie I use a Pimax Crystal . Or do the e-cores handle it ok ? for DCS I’m running: discord, Viacom Pro, SRS, Simhaptic, XRNS, Pimax Play -
Tried that ... nothing. Nothing under 'access', 'maintenance', 'panel', 'door', 'ammo', 'gun'. But then I came across it in 'Systems' .... Service Hatches Open/Close ... Right Alt + Right Shift + H Problem solved lol.

What capabilities should we expect from the F-104?

Hi Sorry, i use an online translator. I use a yoke Winwing (Hotas Orion 2) and the china hat for elevator, rudder ..etc . trim I find it much too reactive. the slightest action on the button........... too fast. Does there exist a way to decrease the speed ? lua files or over. Sorry if the subject already exists. Best regard Christian

Suggesting I switch to the F10 map or, lol, play War Thunder or whatever is a total troll move. Your real life mapmaker experience is cool, but it doesn’t change anything. If you are not into adding anything of interest to the conversation I would recommend you to go read your maps. This is a bug (or design issue) report, not your trolling retreat area.

I noticed this too, and the virtual view has changed compared to the HUD at the beginning, I lower it by +5 with 0 and also lower the seat to see half of the depressible pipper, since it was too high and you can't see it from the default view. This topic is about 2 months old but I just saw it by chance.

Gulf Guardian Part I - Released July 1, 2025
Roosterfeet replied to Sedlo's topic in DCS: F-4E Phantom
Incredible work from Sedlo and the VO cast! Thank you for releasing it as a free mini-campaign. This is top tier payware quality and if it were up to me would be included with the module. -
While I served in the Sunni Triangle, it may help to narrow it down a year or so, given deployment length and so on, because on average a new unit was there for a year or so.

It's not about the length of the route, but the density of the straight sections that overlap. If you can't read the map, you can always use F10. War Thunder and World of Warplain have a map that takes up half the screen, you can always fly there. I'm not downplaying the issue; I've had experience with these maps and the mapmaker, and I know how it looked and worked in real life.

I finally managed to stumble over your issue. Unfortunately, I've been unable to reliably reproduce it. The root cause is a partially initialized ~/.wine WINEPREFIX directory that lacks basic DLLs like .wine/drive_c/windows/system32/kernel32.dll. There's a straightforward fix. Force a reinitialization with wineboot: rm ~/.wine/.update-timestamp wineboot --init Then simply rerun the install script, which should run without the error.
