  2. Hi. I have the double headed collective and been using it without any problems, until now. The collective axis is faulty. Using the VPC Joystick Tester Tool I can see it recognizing a movement of the axis, maybe once every 20 seconds or so, and it only gives one instant input at the actual position that millisecond. Everything else is working like a charm. The stick has gotten a hit or two when moving the chair around, but I have opened the base controller box and all the wiring and setup looks intact, including the magnetometer for the collective axis. Has anyone experienced anything like this? I have also tried to uninstall the VPC firmware and installed different versions. The collective appears in the USB list, but I'm not able to configure a profile or anything. It's like it doesn't recognize the collective as what it is. Also I get the following error in the windows "Game Controllers" when trying to access it "Your game controller is not connected correctly. Please verify that it is plugged into your computer." Thanks.
  3. I have noticed that the AGM45 has a new setting in the seeker head settings screen: WP Marker Charge, where you can choose Installed or Not Installed. Does anyone know what this setting does?

  6. 1. It can be different, anything from 10k fuel all the way down to 6k, I overshoot no matter how heavy it is. But I understand that the weight matters. 2. Kobuleti, almost at the sea level 3. Value by default. 20 degC I guess I believe in my case the wind is the main factor, cause I'm able to fly the pattern with no wind.   7. Tried it. For my Rookie Mig-21, flying in a line and navigating was no problem, even if it couldnt reac+hold high altitude. Mig-21 had 4x missile + small fuel pod (unlimited fuel), it went no-AB and got up to 27000 feet, then dropped a bit. Maybe they need some more adjustment, but at least they cant just cheat physics. Interestingly, the Mig-19 climbs slightly faster and goes up to 40.000 feet with fuel and missiles. And, typically, the Mig-15 goes up to 46.000 feet no problem, climbing better than Mig-19 and 21. Stays up at 210 IAS and 3-4 degree AoA. --------------- edit: The default speed setting for waypoint is 430 knots for the 21, a bit lower than 19/21. Put it to 800 and they use AB and go up to+stay 33k feet altitude.
  8. I can only second LucShep's perspective, I basically had to make the same decision couple months ago, 27" was my goal. My only difference is that I already see 32" as 4k territory, ppi wise, but it is still acceptable, similar/better to a FHD @ 24" . I ended up with an Asus XC27ACG 1440p and really like it. I have an older 27" 1440p Asus Gsync that my son uses now and HDR makes a big difference, as that is were mine differ. I don't strive for max FPS, rather a solid base fps that rarely fluctuates, regardless what game I play.
  9. How heavy have you been in the pattern? How far above sea-level was the airport? How hot was the air? Since the flight-model overhaul I've noticed the Hornet tends to get fast in the base-turn when you are heavy and/or the air is hot like it can be in Nevada for example. When you decend in that turn like you've learned to do, you will get very fast very quick and overshoot the runway by far.

  12. Just curious, why would you need to change it in each aircraft? In W10 I changed 1 key in each of my 2 HOTAS devices (makes 2 changes in total) and had all ID's I needed. Is that different in W11?
  13. I needed a break from my editing heavy Saipan campaign. So did a short 3 vs 4 Dogfight. Man, I'm rusty in the F-4. And it's been weeks since I’ve flown any jet in DCS. I somehow got a double kill with Sparrows, I fired one sparrow it didn’t seem to track, so I moved my sight over another MiG and fired another sparrow point blank. And hit it, but apparently my first sparrow continued to track and hit my first target too. Didn’t think that was possible. Using the Sparrow E2 “dogfight sparrow”

  15. I don't know where you got the idea that the Mi-24 is a cobra. It's not an airplane. Sudden braking is normal in a helicopter. You have to remember that you can't exceed +/- 30°. At too low a speed, exceeding operational limits, you can fall on your tail. We call this "złapać zwierza" (catching the animal). If you did everything as described in the mission, the Wilk maneuver is perfect. I added 20 km/h to make sure it would be okay. As Raven wrote, the return route to base is chosen to be as safe as possible. Generally, the entire route is planned with flight safety and fuel consumption in mind.
  16. Hi, I have been searching for any photos or documents containg kneeboard datacards used by USAF or F-16 pilots in particular. Does anyone know where could I find them? I know there are some datacards taken from Weapons Deliver Planer from BMS but I'm more interested in the real thing. Thanks

  20. I'm in the process of making comparison GIF for all aircraft. So far, I made 6 of them and I can tell you that: HUD boldness is not affected by resolution for the following aircraft: JF-17 (the result is very clean) A-10C Ka-50 (the result is poor because characters are much too bold, whatever the resolution) EDIT: AH-64 HUD boldness is indeed affected by resolution for the following aircraft: AV-8B F-16 F/A-18C EDIT: F-15E affected too, even though it's less striking I stand corrected about the AV-8B. This GIF method is the best I could find to demonstrate the issue (even to myself). Thanks for pushing me harder when it's needed, gents. Once I'm finished, I'll report all affected aircraft individually.

  24. @DSplayer Thank you so much for this beautiful cockpit. A comment for the comments regarding the wear state etc: At some point, the a/c was out of the factory, right? So it is just a matter of taste. I can confirm that lately the cockpit mods are not working. Though, I managed to installed it with the use of OvGME targeting to files to installed in the core DCS directory and the directory string to be: AC Mod - F-14 Factory Clean Cockpit (DSplayer)\Mods\aircraft\F14\Textures In the folder: "Textures" add the files found in the "F14B_Cockpit\default" directory as you download them. Edit: It appears not to pass IC...
