MiG-29A (9.12A) was produced during '80s exclusively and only for Warsaw pact east European nations (not Russia, btw). It came only in metric and Russian. I also don't see your point. You will still get English and Imperial units in this module for gaming purposes.

Maneuvering On The Ground With Differential Braking
AG-51_Razor replied to AG-51_Razor's topic in Bugs and Problems
As a former owner of an RV-8, a home-built tail dragger approximately the same size and weight of an Eagle, I can tell you that the M3 Eagle is nowhere near accurate in the modeling of its ground handling and suffers from similar problems that their Corsair has. -
Awesome, I'm very glad you enjoyed it! I had a lot of fun making that one.
-
The hole point of my OP was to make MiG and Su into Imperial measurements and your explanation about Iran, Russia and Chine IS MY POINT that it has nothing with realism but entirely necessity for the current user/pilot/army! P.S. Hovering over buttons is programming side of the model not related to cockpit textures
-
Given you have access to the older install of DCS, and as long as ED doesn't cease to support it (by means of granting online access/login), yes it is true. But there is no guarantee for how long it will work....
-
When I turn it on, it gives the same result: sometimes works, other times not. I'll record a track later today to better describe my issue. Am I the only one who has this problem with interrogating friendlies?
-
Be careful what you wish for. If they were to update the model and the textures, they would almost certainly encrypt them both. Which would make the Viper essentially inaccessible for community textures and liveries for the most part. Let's hope they never update it.

aston-m777 started following question about the "anti-icing" texture
-
Can anyone tell me where to put the "ka50_cpt_out_glass_anti-icing" texture in 3dmax? In which glass material channel should it be placed?
-
I know this might be a stupid question. Isn't it true that you can use the module on an earlier version of DCS, when it still worked? I'm curious because I have a module from RB and I don't know how long I'll be able to enjoy it. Sorry for the off-topic.
-
You can also enable automatic interrogation from the AZ/EL page with the AUTO INT option in the lower left corner.

Yes. I have the HF8. I find it about half as necessary as TrackIR/headtracking, which I know is a bold statement. I was living without it, but now that I have it, I don't want to give it up. I fly mostly fixed-wing aircraft, and now when I drop gear or deploy the speed brake, I know they are working. I have mine configured to give landing gear feedback through the seat bottom, G-force and stall through the back, and speed brake all over. For prop aircraft and helos, I have the vibration set to all of the seat's vibration points. I use HF8 in DCS and BMS, and in DCS, I use it on my helos. When you get into the helo transition phase, you'll get vibrations that don't exist for forward flight. So, it increases immersion when using the control inputs. I have no idea how realistic it is, but that's the experience it provides. For DCS, you can use their hardware and software directly, as well as for MSFS2020.

investigating AI flies way too fast with sling load
Don Rudi replied to Don Rudi's topic in Aircraft AI Bugs (Non-Combined Arms)
@BIGNEWY attached is the sample mission, with just one piece of cargo and one ai helicopter. I wrote everything into the mission description. You will see, the helo picks up the cargo, flies straight to the drop off at 107 knots (yesterday on CWG up to 114 knots with 5 knots wind) and immediately after drop off, it will reduce to the assigned 60 knots. It would be great to have it work like the troop transport - so we can assign a route and drop off the cargo at any given waypoint via advanced waypoint actions. Especially in the mountainous terrain of Afghanistan, that would be highly beneficial, imho. Thanks for looking into it. CG_AI_Sling_Load.miz - Today

DCS, in general, had difficulty w/ Mass, Acceleration, and Inertia, especially in the rotational. The P-51D has a pretty good feel, where as the German warbirds fly like kites. The F4U-1 has a large prop and engine, way out in front. Also has a broad cord NACA-23000 airfoil section, which is stable at a wide range of airspeeds. Dad had literally Thousands of hours in the "U-Bird", as fighter pilot, instructor, and later test pilot. Said that it was stable and precise, as his Marine Corps aerial gunnery scores would attest to. Aircraft has a gross weight of over Six Tons in fighter configuration. That has physics. Save a LOT of people a LOT of grief, please.
Mr_sukebe replied to dub-villain's topic in DCS World Tutorial & Help Requests
Could I please suggest using Google? A search along the lines of DCS FC3 x56 would probably work. -
72 Upscale mode? No thanks For now it seems I have reduced/removed the issues I had with Quadviews, so I will use that. 72 Upscale mode might make better sense for people with 4090 or less powerful graphic cards. If you are happy with your settings then be happy, and thanks for sharing them. Others might find them useful

From latest Wags' video about navigation. I understand that we can add multiple points in DTC "Points" tab. And if I understand correctly, MiG-29A navigation system can only see next tabs "Waypoints" and "Aerodromes" ? Can Points from the first tab be recognized and used by plane systems, HUD, etc... If they can't, what is their use then ?

The native FOV of the TV camera is less than that of the IR camera. Thus, to get a wider image to reference where you're looking, the TV image is put in the middle of the wider IR FOV. I, too, went through all of "the ATP is so bad" thing for few days. Then I realized why I thought that way. The crux of all the "Litening" vs. ATP arguments is this: The image quality of the "F-16 Litening" we have in DCS is not realistic. You get 10x, crystal clear zoom, and can pick out a foot soldier 80 miles away. That's just not possible in the real world. On the other hand, I also think the ATP is not done. The image quality needs to be tuned, if only to reduce the jaggies. I'm happy to give ED the space/time to sort that out. The ATP is still really neat as it is. My advice is to just get practiced with it. -Ryan

У AH-64D нашлемка представляет собой «наглазку». И она там так и выглядит, на весь плоский экран с возможностью построить под VR вид именно в глаз. Так что и тут хотелось бы ожидать более правдоподобных угловых размеров.

I would also love to see some sort of flyable tanker in DCS. So far the only thing I know of that might potentially come down the pipe line is a KA-6D intruder. I had read somewhere that Heatblur would like to do the tanker variant of the A-6 if its possible. But that was back in 2021. Not sure what the current outlook might be.
-
Glad to hear. Honestly I don´t know how exact that is simulated in the Heatblur Phantom but in real life it would depend on the actual altitude of the bogey and the surrounding landscape. When the bogey is on angels 25 it should be more than sufficiant to be at the same altitude or even a little bit above. Whilest a bogey on angels 10 with mountains in the back could be a problem if you are not 1000 feet or even more below. As Zabuzard just mentioned Jester looks up 10,000 feet above and below your altitude in a range of 30nm. So there is no need to give him further orders. If you switch to boresight radar mode you have to point your nose in the direction of the bogey but this is used primarily within visual range.

Wishlist: F-14 RIO calls "Going Pitbull"
bonesvf103 replied to scommander2's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
I'd rather he call bandit clock code better. His calls are useless because it seems like he has to say everything in order in his script as it happens. So when I have out maneuvered a bandit and have him on my nose, he still says "6:00! 6:00 He's gonna fire!" Can't stand it. v6, boNes
