  2. This is comm radio panel. In real life ADF can be used as antenna and as nav beacon. With antenna you can hear modulated voice/sound on that frequency. With beacon mode you receive bearing (heading) to the beacon. Above is IRL.
  3. because Im hoping someone can source me a 5 pin USB-A cable that doesnt have to come all they way from lithuania and I can fix this week. I did email them today and they're happy to ship me one...but USPS hasnt been too friendly with my packages that have come or gone out of country this past year either coming home damaged or not at all. Id like to keep customs out of it if possible.
  4. F4U DevGru - Check Throttle Curve OEM - is centered on 40" of manifold pressure. Straight Line - does not function well around the boat, as pattern/approach manifold settings are +/- 30", and even a touch causes a several inch change, with associate torque/trim adjustments. And since 30" falls in that 1/4-1/3 range on the joystick curve graph, any std. curve change, slider or axis, only exacerbates the problem. Interim Solution: Custom Curve - centered on 30" of manifold pressure. With a nice +/- 5" sweet zone either side of 30", for around the boat. Suggest relocating the OEM center to 30" as well, so that std. joystick curves can be utilized. Thanks for this great U-Bird. Bowie
  5. Thanks, having a look.
  6. And do, very much. Flat 20/20 human vision. DCS used to absolutely suck, and now it's great. The distorted, coke-bottle glasses view of both the cockpit and outside world is what you like. This thread is about an option for those that don't. Fun Fact: During WWII combat tours, fighter pilot's shirt neck sizes increased, an average of 3 sizes. Not from the chow, my friend. Pan... pan... pan. Bowie
  7. *SOLVED* With the help of Grok! Windows decided to override my AMD graphics drivers even though Adrenaline software said I was running latest. It was a matter of running DDU sweeping out all drivers and reinstalling a clean set of latest. My situation was complicated by a failed AMD install and Windows not wanting to allow me to boot into safemode to get it sorted I had to create a recovery disk on a USB stick and work via the command prompt to see it through. I wouldn't have been able to do this without Grok which I use a lot to examine DCS log files etc. Just thought I'd post the remedy for others if they encounter similar.
  8. I used to align the speed and altitude numbers close to the top of the HUDs glass on the FC3 birds. Something like the lower line of a box if you would divide the remaining glass by 3 on your image or the middle of the remaining. I can't tell now, but it just clicks a few minutes into the flight when everything feels right. Again, subjective. If it cuts an instrument like a fuel gauge or something else against the cockpit geometry, like the screen lower frame on the right against the fuel gauge, the cockpit flood light above the vertical speed indicator, I would of course lower a little until everything is readable. Also it helps with the leading shots with the cannon. On the Hornet I just cut the RPM moving the seat forward as the gain from the visibility is much more than the RPM gauge being exposed all the time. A simple glance with the track IR lowering the view can expose the RPM value easily. The Nozzle gauges have proven to be a better indicator to set up Mil power than the RPM anyways. I'm used to do that on all flight sims as they usually come with the seat way too low and its been a good practice so far to have the upper side of the dash exposed/visible. Something to avoid that ''feeling like a child in the jet seat'' effect some views come by default. Heatblur jets so far came with pretty excellent default positions. I just nudge a little tiny (very tiny) forward the default seat position on the Cat and the Phantom I left at default.
  9. Thanks YoYo ¡¡¡ Adding content for the Fulcrum is always welcomed, and for free
  10. There is an integrated check that consists of speed and collective position, but determining height above ground is difficult on a swaying ship. However, I will recheck this and install an additional timer safety mechanism.
  11. Very cool! Would be very useful if there was a single download for all the required additional mods
  12. It's a known issue - there are quite a few problems when selecting English cockpit plus 'Imperial' units in the Gameplay options. The VVI indicator is another broken instrument. Switching to 'Metric' will restore the functionality - but you'll still have Russian warnings/indications etc until it gets patched.
  13. Thanks, I think at least a fail-safe for accidental clicks would be awesome. Maybe my reflexes are shoddy
  14. I can confirm. Hope it will be fixed soon
  15. Did you have the gun heater on?
  16. Пианино в кабине? F-16A тоже. Но да, в ДКС из Ф-14А сделали хороший самолет
  17. @BIGNEWY the new first person view helmet feature is amazing in VR. The inmersion in the hornet is now at 50AGL or more!!! Any chance to copy the feature to other modules and Flaming Cliffs aircrafts? On the other hand, is it planned to make it removable in the options, like the Apache helmet? (I would like to be able to hide it, just for streaming purposes)
  18. But you're missing the point. I'm not telling people what they need to set their view to. In my case, I'm sitting within arm's length of a 65" high def television, with excellent edge-viewing characteristics. I can see why you may think my FOV is too wide, especially if you're looking at the screenshot on your cellphone, but if you're actually sitting at my computer with a screen that spans such a large angle, you might think differently. Or maybe not. I don't percieve a fisheye effect when actually seated at my desk. It looks very good to me, and the instruments are actually starting to approach real size. The point is, as Czar has noted, you use your common sense and judgement to come up with something that is plausable, comfortable, and useable. YMMV. Believe it or not, I was actually wondering if somebody would notice my vertical seat position. During a landing approach, I've mapped the up/down arrows to adjust the virtual seat to better see over the nose. But since I was only taking a screenshot, I didn't. Good catch!
  19. Unsure it'll help but, this may be worth a look:
  20. Did some tests in Nevada with Mk-82, Mk-82SE HD and Mk-20, 50% fuel, 29.92, no wind, accuracy seems good: So it's not an altitude issue... Have you tried with different speed/altitude parameters?
  21. Same here, just flew the Huey the other day, everything normal.
  22. Today
  23. I see. There are many people who use imperial in it though Our MiG had never had an instrument panel in imperial, neither had it english cockpit. So, its situation is very similar to the F-15C, but anyway, I understood your position. Mine is - optional ability never hurts unless it spoils gameplay for others. Metric in my cockpit won't hurt anyone
  24. Hi, thanks for replying. It's not just in the mission editor; it happens with any mission. I usually fly Retribution campaigns, and it only happens with the F-16s, not with other modules.
  25. The min. alt. caret is not there anymore. Also dial not moving when I press the test button. Is this a bug, or am I missing something?
