South Atlantic Development Report An update to the DCS: South Atlantic map is in development and planned for inclusion in an upcoming DCS update. Every airfield is receiving an optimization pass to lower video memory usage. Texture fidelity is being improved significantly, with airfield textures quadrupling and building materials doubling. Vegetation across the map will now use a new distribution algorithm for denser and more natural coverage. Snow distribution and tiling issues are also being corrected. Normal maps are getting upgraded and integrated across the Argentina and Chile landmass to improve surface relief and lighting response. Airfield lighting and visual systems will receive a complete refresh. All lighting will use new tech, and airfield lighting will react to takeoffs and landings. Ushuaia PAPI lights are getting properly leveled too. Spectre Studios is adding animated airfield radar units where appropriate and replacing all wind turbines with map specific animated models, as well introducing a variety of new airfield objects. A large set of airfields and points of interest are being revamped, including: Port Stanley, Ushuaia, Ushuaia Helo Port, Mount Pleasant, Punta Arenas, Puerto Natales, Mare Harbour, Rio Gallegos, Rio Grande, Provenir, Franco Bianco, O Higgins, Almirante Schroeders, San Julian, Comandante Luis Piedrabuena, and Pampa Guanaco. Mission planning quality of life is also being improved. The F10 map will show country borders and helicopter locations along with additional visual refinements. The Mission Editor default date is now the 1st of October, 2024 so summer textures are selected by default for new missions. Once this update is released the map will be feature complete and exit early access. However, improvements and bug fixes will continue. Please remember that you can purchase now whilst the 20% early access discount is still available. Spectre Studios has a DCS Forum Page to discuss their projects. 2025 Green Balmoral Cup Tactical Aviation Simulation Competition Organized by Jianqiao Virtual Flight Group (JQvFG), a member of the DCS China community, this event will be the first simulated flight competition that centers on comprehensive tactical response of aviation forces in multi-factor, complex battlefield environments. We encourage all our Chinese speaking members to check out this fascinating event. The event presents participants with all-encompassing challenges: validating fundamental flight skills to handling adverse weather conditions, mastering individual combat techniques, executing team tactical coordination, adapting to battlefield variables caused by intelligence errors, and restructuring the OODA (Observe-Orient-Decide-Act) decision-making cycle. All these skills will be integrated into mission scenarios such as: • Offensive/Defensive Counterair (OCA & DCA) • Battlefield Air Interdiction (BAI) • Close Air Support (CAS) • Reconnaissance & Surveillance (R&S) • Air-to-Air Refueling (AAR) The competition will be held from the 3rd of October to the 15th of November, 2025 in a team-based PvE format. For more details please follow JQvFG’s official Bilibili account. Stay tuned for full coverage and live broadcasts of the competition. Generous prizes await the winners, and we look forward to welcoming individuals and organizations who are eager to engage in a clash of intellect and courage! Thank you again for your passion and support, Yours sincerely,
  3. Big job given the age of the base code but something to look forward to
  4. Don't worry. At that stage of the campaign it's very hard to push them back. You should have almost full air superiority to be able to attack strategic targets too. You can delay the attack before USAF and army will come to help you.
  5. Already done with my dual throttle (VKB STECS). However even with both throttles idle it keeps dragging to the right like hell. I barely managed it to taxi to the runway with differential braking and differential throttles. Next task will be to take off without crashing to the right. Compared to the Bronco F4U-1D, Bf 109, Fw190, P47 ect. are easy to start for me. May be I'm missing out something important here, but I do not see what it might be.
  6. Checked it with the F-5E the other day, CATM-9M is giving growl and lock tone now. Not so with the F-4E, but that might be on HB.
  7. BL755 also need a revisit by ED.
  8. I just took a direct hit from an 100mm round, shot by a T55 in a pitch-black night while I was already flying evasively in an Apache. Needless to say, whatever urge I had to keep flying in DCS, disappeared after seeing the BDA.
  9. Yes indeed, very impressive. Most of all, to see most of the 'publicly known' long range missile types and vehicles. Even the different types of aircraft display and drone/ drone launch vehicles. But of course, what I was hoping for most, was to get ideas and inspiration for additional mods and missiles.
  10. Given the time frame for the Marianas map it would make more sense for the F6F-3 to be a later production model with water injection, with the abbility to disable it for some user-made scenarios. Specially given the fact that the version of the Zero we are getting is the best armed and protected variant before they push it too far with the later models.

  12. This is a common missconception, the issue is that there is no documentation about subvariant production on the Mitsubishi factory past December 1944 and the surviving documentation on the Nakajima factory doesn't include subvariant production, however both factories kept producing A6M's until the war's end. Based on total production numbers we know that in 1945 around 1570 Zero's were built by both factories, and the majority of those would be A6M5 Hei's and A6M7's, with a handfull of A6M6 an M8 prototypes. 13. oh my... yes I know that and just forgot the OR. Knock Knock... Thanks anyways
  14. Ну, насколько помню, раньше Вихри с Сушек летали на лазерное пятно. Вопрос только в относительно узком поле зрения ракеты Вихрь
  15. Please attach a short track so we can cross-check with your results.
  16. Thanks guys! I really appreciate compliments. I think I'm finally satisfied with the way the cirrus look . I'd really like to continue to develop more advanced features for the weather simulation but we really need ED to update some of the legacy code for the weather engine. Yes, the 4K version uses more VRAM specifically. I had to pack in all of my textures into a dds texture array because the game engine only allows 4 texture files for cirrus. That results in much larger texture files being loaded into memory. This was only way for me to increase the number of cirrus variations above 4.
  17. This condition list requires all units that are mentioned in there to be in the zone all at the same time or else the condition is not fullfilled and the action will not be triggered. Add some "OR"s inbetween each line in order to let the action triggered if any of the units is in the zone. Once- if unit in zone - illumination flare or something like that. Don't forget to add "OR" inbetween conditions.
  18. Thanks for continuing to update this Bandit! Re the LOW res version and VR specifically, is this solely for performance reasons as I never noticed any degradation previously?
  19. Sorry, I really don't have a solution for this. The only thing you can do at this time is make sure that players have the mod installed before joining the server. Maybe some folks that have more experience with multiplayer servers will chime in with some advice, but I don't think there's much you can do outside of making sure everyone has the mod.
  20. Today
  21. For the data compiled in the US Navy F4U-1D/C Standard Aircraft Characteristics files it is explicitly said that "clean" means all pylons were removed: f4u1dsac.pdf
  22. Inside the "Advanced point actions" you have a "Condition" and "Stop condition". You can set that the condittion to start fire at point is when some flag is raised. And you can create an additionall radio menu F10, so when you pess it it will raise the flag. Then you need a "Stop condition" when the same flag is set to "0" for example. And in triggers menu you need to check if the Flag number 100 for example is set to "1" set it to "0" after lets say 30 seconds or 60 seconds or whatever else. But you need to set the timer as a repetitive action. Otherwise it wil set the flag to zero only once.
  23. Maybe some classified aircraft the ED can't make it full fiedlity, or some rare one that is too hard to make a full module, like SU57 and F20, maybe even some heli like Ka25, but before that I still hope all FC3 can rearm when the engine is on like other FC2024 module
  24. This is what I've set up yet but I know it sucks this way. I'll try to activate the task via radio...
  25. That’s just gonna make em look choppier, ruining the immersion. It’s ok, it is what it is. Just wish that ED would be more considerate when it comes to adding options. And don’t even get me started on the non-adjustable NVG mask sizing/placement
