  3. We all know that after the Marianas, the Kiro Butai was no longer a threat, not only because of the loss of experienced pilots, but also because of the extremely high attrition and Allied superiority. The Marianas disaster confirms this, especially when alerts were being issued at 50 miles, more than enough to trigger massive counterattacks... It's nice to think about 1-on-1 carrier battles, but if navies are going to be recreated, they would have to be done to the fullest extent.
  4. Nach langer Zeit mal wieder hier eingeklinkt....Tag auch. Hab da mal folgendes. Bekommt man unter dem Kürzel "Lalt+F1" ( 3D Cockpit weg ) , auch irgendwie die MFDs weg ? Danke !!
  5. Hi, DTC work is in progress as soon as we can share more news we will, of course it will be added to the changelogs once the tasks have been completed. I will ask the team if we can also have a newsletter update about the work. thank you
  6. Yeah but the players head is quite sluggish, so there is a split second were you can see the mirror image clearly if you make fast head movements. But please consult your spine doktor first, if you are over 40 years old.
  7. Hello there. While scanning a designated waypoint with the ATFLIR, in IR mode, the game crashed. Tried once again, and once again had the same weird situation. Not really a crash to desktop but the game froze entirely, and I had to CTRL + ALT + CANC to get back to desktop. I do not recall pressing any button prior the crash, so it just happened while slewing the sensor around my target area. I leave here my DxDiag, the log of the session plus the 2x track files where the crashes happened. 8. Hi Steve, My guess is we'll see the change to M10 in the upcoming patch update since it was missed out on this one, right?
  9. Ground boresight is at least part of your problem. For months, I did exactly as you are: place a ground target and boresight before takeoff. When I started bore-sighting from altitude at 10 miles off, I was blown away by how the Maverick seeker looked almost exactly on target. Night and day. Another problem with auto-handoff is making sure the Maverick seeker is "zoomed" to the narrow FOV, with good contrast. That'll make it much easier for the Maverick to grab the centroid of the target. -Ryan
  10. Hi John:

I am working my way through Operation Piercing Fury and am really enjoying it. However, I have reached Mission 11 and for some reason my RH engine will not start. I have gone back and it is fine in mission 10. I should add that I am using the auto start sequence. Is this a bug or am I doing something silly?

  11. i try until now to download it..but the server have always problem..2 days and i downloaded half of the total...
  12. I have Crystal Super. I'm using Pimax Play 1.40.04, Rendering resolution set to 1.0 in Pimax Play. Refresh rate at 72hz in the headset. Quadviews and Foveated rendering in Pimax Play OFF. Eye tracking on. I use the external Quadviews (from Tallymouse video) and the Quadviews companion app with the settings from Tallymouse video. I always launch DCS from from its own Launcher app. In DCS: Eye tracking and Quad views settings checked/ON. Crystal Super firmware 1.07. I mostly use Tallymouse settings, except that I use 72hz and not 90. Nvidia driver settings - as in Tallymouse video, the extra sharpness at 20% there and High Performance option. Everything else as default. My PC: AMD 9950X3D, RTX 5090, 64Gb RAM. I don't get stutters. The maps I have checked in solo player missions is Kola, Afghanistan, Syria, Caucasus. In Multiplayer I have only played on the Syria map. I have not done todays DCS update yet.
  13. Hi, Question: The Wolfpack I campaign includes 12 missions, 2 of which are bombing missions. Are there more bombing missions in Wolfpack II (and if so, how many?) Cheers Dan
  14. In addition to the Chinook, I'd really like to know what it is. Can anyone explain? Added. Ground detent position for the Thrust Control Lever.
  15. Asking especially for the F16 because its pretty hard to tell whats coming or whats not. Pre-configuring the MFDs is such a powerful and handy thing ( and probably comparably simple to implement). Its the only reason I still use the external DTC app that remote controls the ICP to setup the jet, which breaks track replays and is already bugged because the order of button presses is not correct any more after some DCS updates. We already have custom CMDs and radio channels in the DCS DTC. Bein able to set up what page in what sub-mode is shown on a particular MFD would be so helpful. Any statement on that? @BIGNEWY Many people using the external DTC app would be very sad if that was overlooked.
  16. Radio Navigation:
  17. Great idea. Already an effort underway. Will report in with results.
  18. FYI: some drivers worked till 23H2 not 24H2, and that was the reason I asked.
  19. ran across this to supplement my study https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1514018475 https://www.globalsecurity.org/military/library/policy/army/fm/1-140/AA.HTM
  20. What do you mean? I guess in real life you would never rearm a jet with the engine running, would you? Yeah I think that was the issue too. It was how the rearmarment process was programmed which lead to the behavior that is luckily fixed now for everybody who flies on servers with quick landing, refueling and take off turn around gameplay.
  21. Hi, thank you for your report. This has been sent to the team.
  22. Just had a scan at Claringbould's info online. Interesting stuff. Funny how all over the place available onlines sources are, e.g: Wiki states the F4u was first used by VF12. Vought F4U Corsair - Wikipedia This summary of VF12 doesn't mention the F4u: VF-12 - Wikipedia VF-17 was next mentioned by Wiki, and this suggests that they had 152 victories with the F4u However, this suggests that VF-17 were given, Hellcats before "firing a weapon in anger": VF-17 The original "Jolly Rogers" World Naval Ships Forums Archive VFMA-124 was apparently the first marine squadron, though there's no mention of k/d ratio. They do however mention that the squadron members had an average of just 25 hours in the aircraft. Hardly what you'd call experienced This includes a claimed victory/loss for VFMA-124, of 69:11. U.S. Marine Aviation in World War II: VMF 124 in the Solomons. VMF-113, VMF-312, VMF-323 were not in combat until 1944 VMF-214 claimed 203 victories, 97 of which were apparently confirmed. VMFA-214 - Wikipedia VMF-224 didn't have F4u's until their Marshall island campaign, and it looks like they didn't see combat with the F4s until 1944: HyperWar: USMC Operations in WWII: Vol V--Western Pacific Operations [Chapter V-1] Another interesting stat: "claimed a 12:1 kill ratio against the Mitsubishi A6M Zero and 6:1 against the Nakajima Ki-84, Kawanishi N1K-J, and Mitsubishi J2M combined during the last year of the war" That 2:1 disparity highlights to me that the Corsair/Hellcat were both significant steps ahead of the the Zero, and that the Japanese really should have been introducing their better late war fighters at a higher rate.
  23. Hey! Thanks for the positive feedback on the new DCS core asset pack. I'm going to update all of the mod asset packs, to feature LODs and reduced texture sizes, to make the packages smaller and the assets less demanding in missions. I will also remove the duplicated assets that are now featured in core DCS. I'm also going to update all weapons to the latest standard. I started with this one as a template, since it only have one asset. Military Asset Pack Turkey 2.0.0 released! Changelog Version 2.0.0 Added LODs Changed textures to reduce size Added encyclopedia entry Changed folder structure Distribution model This Military Asset Pack is available in the following versions: The standard full download.
