By the way, will the physical switch in the cockpit turn itself on as well? It looks like you have to force it.

SEPECAT Jaguar GR1.A By SkyForge Studios
Tonker replied to Cam1McH's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
As is fairly well attested now, ED has no plan when it comes to DCS module - they just need to flog EA stuff they think will sell (hence the modern aircraft in a decidedly Cold War sim). The further an aircraft one cares about stays away from this business model the better IMO. Never sure why people always clamour for "full fidelity" stuff, when really they should be clamouring for ED to release a SDK to the community... Roll on labours of love, and the Jag in particular! Looking forward to her as and when she's ready -
If ED actually has the documentation they claim to have to model the F35, modeling other older EW aircraft should be a breeze.

Because that part costs them money, that they may not make back in sales. Letting the dev studios eat the development costs, and then taking a percentage of sales is much better business. -
Visibility range of aircraft external lights
tora117 replied to twistking's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Lighting is totally scuffed but my biggest issue as a 2D player (idk if this is the same in VR) is that lighting as well as the general visibility of the aircraft worsens when you zoom in. So if you zoom out its a barely visible speck, but the lights are present. As you zoom in the plane gets bigger but the lighting does the opposite. Under NVGs or simply at night this is especially frustrating and makes spotting things at night way harder than they should be.- 16 replies

Yo @Tasky welcome to the club! I was in a similar position...worse even, as (whisper it) the Gazelle is my only paid module, and I was using T16000. Remember you can invert the collective axis if your natural instinct is to pull for power Three things not mentioned so far which I found super helpful: Hover trim - learn where the stick needs to be for a hover, roughly, and trim to that position before takeoff. Makes life a lot easier! Check the user files for Gaz campaigns - this one for training, and this brilliant one for putting it into action If you want to practice in another heli, get the OH-6A community module! Not only is it excellent, with a best-in-class FM, but it's light and responsive and so a great way to learn - as per the title - how to actually fly a helicopter! The main thing though is practice and to enjoy it. Frustrating as hell, but sooo satisfying when it starts to come together

If the ADF's are correctly set in ME as Outer and Inner and the Airport data for the RSBN and PRMGs are coded via the DTC then in AUTO in landing mode as you pass over the Outer ADF the system will sequence automatically to the Inner ADF.

Glaubensfrage. Persönliche Empfehlung: Kaufe, was Du Dir leisten willst.

Noticeable stutter and slow loading
MAXsenna replied to celestHawk's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
Haven't tried this one. I do it myself, for the Apache and other modules with the texture resize script mod. -
I agree with this. I don't like the reflections myself for the same reason. Highly disagree with this. Not often during the day, while depending on the position of the sun and how the light hits you, (from behind in general), in the spring/fall where I live. It can definitely be so intense that the reflections makes it "impossible" to see through the windscreen until your eyes adjust. Not sure if this can relate to a fighter though. During night? Every time the kids turned on the interior lights. Luckily newer cars have have downlight spots which prevents this. Of course this shouldn't happen in our modules. No kids allowed!

FFB implementation of the stick pusher/AoA limiter
MAXsenna replied to Dentedend10's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
I haven't tried the module yet, while I expect it to somewhat like in the FF F-5E with its roll limiter. You "feel" extra force that you have to push through. Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk -

The pit is up at the right level now with the platforms both done. Support beams are in, and I have worked out the old man entry"" into the pit. On the 4 rib (from the rear) I will have a extended hinge so that the rear section open like a door for entry. Using an old tv wall mount as the hinge.. Tomorrow is measuring the sides into their correct spot and then fixing them to the bottom platforms.

Inshallah, then keep trying to get DCS to work on your Game Boy and keep crying into your pillow. Obviously, with your weird point of view, there's no helping you, and you even seem to be writing weird comments to people who are trying to help guys like you in some way. I wish the moderators would remove guys like you from the forum, but maybe they could at least close this topic to further comments. -
I 100% agree but it would be nice to have some kind of idea. And if they know they're not going to make a deadline just own up to it. Instead of the smoke and shadow game. Anything is better then silence and waiting to look at a new patch note. Roadmap: By the end of 2025 our goal is this. By mid 2026 the goal is this. etc etc. Ok cool now we know. I look at this from a mission maker perspective so I'm buying all the maps to see if I can make something for my group, but instead I'm telling them to hold off. And I know there's plenty more users out there wanting the same.

Aligning AB detent and Throttle Calibration (How to)
Priest replied to MustangSally's topic in Winwing
@MustangSally I followed your original post from way back and it worked perfectly, thank you! One tip I might add at least for the F/A-18 is I was able to get much more accurate throttle positions by listening for the sound of the AB to kick in on each engine rather than trying to do it visually using F2 view and observing the engines or watching gauges in the cockpit. Might help to have "loud cockpit afterburner sound" enabled in DCS settings audio page. Just push each throttle forward as slow as possibly can and once you hear the AB kick in STOP. -
Civilian air traffic auto-generation feature
waterman replied to twistking's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Its funny some users make it sound so Grand and Official but its only a game I think a major issue is the DCS Ai Major brand names will not allow their Planes Trains and Vehicles to be made to look STUPID by the BONKERS DCS Ai It needs Repair and improvement to the Broken Ai and animations to avoid any chance of rejection or an outright ban -
User feedback: It's been a year since launch and the ground textures still break it for me. For example the default AH-64 free flight through the valleys is really rough and not a good example to have as default instant action. That was my first taste of the map and it was horrible and it still is. I would really love it if they got more map data to make it more accurate other then a satellite image. I would REALLY love it if there was some in-game map feature that showed where all the COPs were during this maps time frame and the correct terrain so mission makers can replicate them. Panjwai(Kandahar) isn't Panjwai in DCS, I tried recreating my old routes numerous times but can't because they are simply not there. I have only flown it a handful of times but I don't know, I think Syria just set the bar too high and was able to execute changes & fixes a lot faster instead of long periods of waiting. Which is awesome for a paying customer. Also from a mission maker perspective. A region boarder to show exactly where the different payable regions are instead of coming here to look at the FAQ would be huge. That way if I'm making a mission and I have the whole map but some users only have high detail in the East region I know exactly where their limits are.

I've never been a fan of cockpit reflections. I don't think the sim handles it well. If it were a real reflection, you'd be able to focus through and past it as one naturally does in real life. Drive your car during the day or night and while you're driving around tell me if you ever saw a reflection of interior lighting and was unable to see past it at the objects outside of the vehicle. If that were the case none of us would be able to drive at night because the lighting would blot out our ability to see outside the car. And yet, that's what happens in DCS. It was so bad in the older models like the MiG-15 that they finally got rid of them or put a switch in settings to turn them off.

Hi, What should the correct behaviour of FFB sticks be at the limiter and past it? What I experience is, as I reach the AoA limit, there is an aggressive vibration. I can't say I feel a clear pulling force, that would match the visuals where the stick moves back slightly to reduce AoA. In addition to this problem, it has been mentioned that the override 'button' is not a physical button, but that it represents the force the pilot applies IN ADDITION to pull through the limiter. I interpret this as follows: constant force buildup to the limiter. Than an additional '17kg' force IRL pulls the stick back slightly, and then the pilot can further pull past the limiter if they want to override it and increase AoA. This should translate to FFB too then. Up to the limiter the FFB should not max out, so that it can actually pull forward on the stick (same time as it starts vibrating). Then once it pulled back a bit, with some additional force I should be able to pull the stick further back (these forces are scaled of course). How do you guys experience this? Do you think the limiter could be implemented differently to FFB? Any explanation by the devs on this? Thank you for this amazing module, absolutely loving it!
