We have election this year, (September), and this fu**ing idiot, (from my bloody side), thinks that letting a foreign company build a monster of a data center, (to basically get free electricity), will bring 4000 workplaces/positions for the local community, and that Norway will become a leader in AI. @MiG21bisFishbedL is correct. Dotcom has returned.

That shot of an Apache loading is a C-17, your only loading one of those in a C-130 cut in pieces.

Carrier pilot is an excellent book for a personal take on a British FAA Corsair in the Pacific. And Tidal Wave by Thomas McKelvey Cleaver deals with the last months of the war. Including the British pacific fleet off Okinawa and even the British flying over Japan itself.

Indianajon started following Ground crew checks

Hi all, it's been a while since I have played in the Phantom but noted while doing the flight controls check the ground crew didn't call out rudder kick or neutral. Likewise on the stab augs he didn't call no movement for yaw although he did for the others. Just wondering if this is something new or just a random glitch for me?

umm well i look at why DCS has helmets?

I've never played some of the default instant missions for P-47 because they override my snap-viewed personal FoV settings. I've read it's beacuse of some leftover file ED put in these missions. Now, If I play my own mission afterwards, i expect the game properly loading my own view settings and for Thunderbolt it does. That being said, I remember when for a few years we needed to load D-25 and D-30 Mustang missions in correct order to avoid loosing all custom controls, same for clipped and non-clipped Spitfire. I'm glad this bug was fixed eventually. Maybe ac5 discovered a new but similar issue which doesn't go away unless game is restarted? I do use snap-view customized FoV in my Corsair and I haven't yet experienced missions resetting it to default even though I switch between training and my own ones multiple times. The only time it happened to me was when I switched from American Corsair to British MkIV one, because the latter uses separate camera settings and thus I had to separately customize it as well.

The term "AI" is so overused these days, it lost all meaning: everyone seems to mean something else...

Free Mi-24P Campaign : The Dawn Of The Soviet-Afghan War
Raffi75 replied to dggoofy's topic in Missions and Campaigns
Hi @dggoofy, Can you help me? Mission 12: I don't know, I don't understand, I'm clueless. I'm having trouble taking off. I've tried with less fuel. I've tried without the UB-32, and I'm still having trouble taking off. The helicopter feels like it's too heavy, and I still feel like the rotor is too light, not holding onto the air. I had to work really hard and fiddle around to get it to take off. This is very strange. Another thing: Volk 2 is powered on and takes off shortly after the mission begins. The dialogue indicates that the entire start-up and take-off procedure should proceed normally. When I reach the area where Raven is, nothing happens. I don't receive any communication. I'm flying around in circles, doing nothing. Maybe I did something wrong. -
Yeap, that was the idea, long range over the ocean, operating at the limit.

I’m really looking forward to the PTO assets pack and I can’t wait to use these new units to build realistic missions One thing I’m thinking about, however, is that we won’t have nice GCI radars to go along in a PTO WWII setting. It’d be really nice if some of the carriers or other vessels had functional GCI radars in-game. Radar-controlled intercepts proved really useful for the US Navy in WWII and it was commonly used in key battles as far as I’m aware, it’d be nice if we could properly simulate this in DCS!

This is a further, future topic, likely related to DCS v. 3.0, when a spherical Earth would be introduced. Then, historical conflicts could actually be created in the exact places where they once took place. However, that's likely a further topic. For now, the Mariana Islands WWII version remains. Personally, I'm a bit disappointed that the Check Six team withdrew their Australia project, instead of expanding it and changing it to a WWII version, adding a bit more of the map to the north - Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands. It would have been possible, and it would have provided a great foundation for DCS PTO. There was quite a discussion about it, and probably many more people would have accepted such a choice.

No, research alone for the Zero has been going on for an incredibly long time. It was more about making sure we could do it to the expected level that people expect from a DCS Warbird. We were happy to have M3 doing a module that will fit in nicely with the Hellcat and Zero, but they were not held for the release of any other module. Thanks!

This would be monumental for DCS until we have some sort of global map or map layers that connect, would completely change current "map boundaries", would really like to hear about this as well! He was asking about the battleship being cut from the PTO pack not the PC helo, which for what it is worth is a very nice and fun to fly module! Really looking forward to the DCS PTO (and hoping a Solomon Islands Map comes about someday), hope we see more AI assets in the ETO as well and of course there are hundreds of aircraft that ED could develop for either theater as flyables which would be major sellers, all in due time hopefully. One way or another very exciting times for DCS WWII! Wouldn't mind seeing some 60-80s and Modern Assets packs being made as well.
