JaBoG 35 - das Jagdbombergeschwader 35 rekrutiert!
Rick Mave replied to Rick Mave's topic in Jets Squadrons
released to early access Cold War Germany discussion
Dawgboy replied to Rick Mave's topic in DCS: Cold War Germany
Oh...I know that's a bridge too far, having full fidelity flyable modules. I'm just happy with static, even happier with models flown by AI. -

If it were only the mission creators... No, seriously, I agree there are about three or four aircraft carriers worth of gross register tonnes of things that ended up 'on the backlog' for who knows how long. Literal bugs of things not working, plenty of issues of things kinda working but definitely not right and a plethora of things that weren't exactly cutting edge back then but are frankly hideous design choices today. But I think we all know what ED's reply is going to be. 'It's complicated and takes time', 'We don't have time to work on it because there are so many other things that need doing' and the classic 'provide a track!'. P.S.: While I'm sure someone will kindly point out how I am not a software developer and thus have no idea about that, it isn't made better by the fact that a lot of these things (mind you definitely not all) are pretty much copy/paste jobs for an afternoon, which we know, because community members, past and present, have provided these fixes in mods previously.

There are excellent topics and documentation about that. Victory 205 for example, a former tomcat pilot did a several pages long tips & tricks / guide on it, Chucks Guide has a section dedicated to Case I and Case III recoverys. And Mooch on YT has his old pal Rear Admiral Mike "Nasty" Manazir demonstrate how a case I is done.

I ran a poll not long ago on my channel to see where people are in regards to buying the MiG-29. It received 649 votes, a majority of players are waiting to see how it turns out. Hoping ED can make it work. But a Fox 1 fighter in a heavily dominated blue air Fox 3 environment is not great. Especially when the Russian fox 1s in DCS are not good compared to a sparrow. I honestly think that's holding people back. Even if we got a modern red fox 3 aircraft the R77 isn't good compared to a 120. The JF-17's SD-10s used to be good.

I wish ED would stop working on new features for at least a year and just fix the huge amount of accumulated bugs. Even after years and many fixes, the warehouses don't work and it's hell for the creators of more complex missions and they have to shut them down in the end. Every update is usually a bigger or smaller disaster and often brings more new bugs than they fix. I'm sure many mission creators have given up on DCS for these reasons. Today I'm tired of DCS bugs again, I have to take a medical break.

New questions about processors: i5 14600K and 9900X
BitMaster replied to talvikko's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
there are reports that the 7800X3D has some stuttering issues with DCS and the 9800X3D does not, so there is that. Either way, I would not get the 7800x3d for other reasons as well, pay the extra 78$ and be safe. -
Sight depression calculation with Bombing table for Laydown is incorrect?
Aernov replied to Aernov's topic in Bugs & Problems
Yeah, I've heard that active pause messes some things up for different modules. I used it once to manually place the pipper over the target and write down the mils. All actual test bombing runs were done without active pause, and the "normal" pause was used only to take screenshots of sight and F10 map at the same moment of IP overflight. So, the results above are unaffected by active pause. -

Dead WW2 aircraft flying in circles - Is DCS looking at this?
ChuckIV posted a topic in General Bugs
Screen_250810_122313.bmpScreen_250810_122313.bmpScreen_250810_122313.bmpDCS developers: Currently, there are numerous WW2 aircraft that fly in endless circles when dead. Bombers for sure, but I've seen Antons and other WW2 aircraft behave in the same manner. Is anyone on this bug? I'm hoping the next update fixes this problem. Thanks for reading my post. Mike Force Team started following FULL FIDELITY REDFOR

@Silver_Dragon You are correct the Mig-29A will be release soon. This full-fidelty module will be a welcome change. Dekka has no release any new information lately J-811 jet. It is not clear how this upcoming module will be received in the DCS community. Hopefully, Dekka will release an update before the end of 2025. Red Star Simulations is working diligently on the Mig-17. The Mig-17 is more likely to be at home on a Vietnam Map, a Korean map, or possibly the Sinai map. I am eagerly waiting for an update on the Mig-21 bis version 2.0 update.

Hey flycats2, we have our WWII_ACE_MARIANAS_Server running most of the time. It has the Corsair and CorsairIV. Also has the P47 and Antons "dressed up" as Zeros. It's not a training server, but our squadron does fly this server together often.

Military Assets for DCS by Currenthill
CarbonFox replied to currenthill's topic in Static/AI Mods for DCS World
Thoughts on adjusting the name of the Abrams X to the M1E3 or M1A3 maybe, and also adding a variant with the proposed 140mm main gun? -
Class. It's a pity that the model does not have adjustable air intakes.

I thought the whole reason why we don't have many Russian style redfor is because of some stupid Russian law. But yeah making an attempt on the most classified aircraft for DCS so the whole to world to use makes sense. But I would take even a ton of flaming cliff style red air.
