  2. You can have many folders there, depending on your history flying DCS, the one on my PC has these: Some common folder names you can have are "DCS", "DCS World", "DCS.openbeta", etc .. all of them have the DCS prefix. The important one is the one currently in use by DCS, one way to know is to check the /Logs/ folder inside each, and look at the modified date of the "dcs.log" file, like this: So, on my case, the "DCS.296" is the Saved Games folder in use by my DCS. Keep in mind that you could have more than one DCS version installed on your PC.
  3. I have the same issue over here. I've tried everything. The thing is, i had this problem before, and i managed to fix it about a year ago by completely formatting all my drives and reinstalling windows and everything. It seems logical that this worked. The issue started happening a couple of days ago, i have managed to make the freezes appear less often by cleaning up my fxo and metashaders2 folders every time before i boot into the game. The best I've had was today, a total of 2 hours of no freezes. After that, back to "normal", a freeze every 10 minutes or so. Most of the time they appear when i input something, like changing view with the F keys, like moving the camera, like moving the throttles, almost every time it freezes up it freezes when i input a command. As of writing this, i am currently trying to reinstall windows without deleting my other files, to see of any corruption was only in the windows folders, not in the dcs ones. Thing is, this only happens in dcs, not in any other games or stress tests, or anything. Happens even in menus aswell, when the system isn't under load. Will keep you guys updated
  4. Engine damage modeling is a great feature, but I hope it's not been implemented in kinda an "artificial" way. Have not tested this update yet but saw many people complaining. If max power rating is 5 min, it's not that the engine will die at 5min 1 sec. Or if you exceed engine temp limit by 1 degree, the engine will not blow up straight away (well, actually it might blow up anytime even if within parameters, but that's not my point). Again, I have not tested it yet, but I hope it does allow for some "flexibility".
  5. I've been using Cubesim monitors for my MFD viewports for quite a long time. I always noticed that the MFD image brightness & contrast on the Cubesim screens is much worse than the image in the cockpit on the main monitor - obviously, I thought it's the monitor quality. This is becoming critical in the TGP page, where it's tough to see, detect, and identify targets, finding myself always increasing the MFD brightness to max and playing around with the contrast (using the Viper's MFD controls) to somehow get a better image, while the image in the cockpit gets burned out. I just tested the exported MFD viewport on the main screen, and was surprised to see that the same issue occurs there too (no mods) - see attached images for reference. Is anyone else experiencing the same? Thanks!
  6. That is correct if you had once upon a time both or either version installed (stable and openbeta). But as nowadays they are again unified, one of them is not needed anymore.
  7. I use cfrag`s DML to animate my Railway signals up/down and open and close Level Crossing gates and activate Water Cranes over the locomotive water tanks . I also use it to raise and lower cargo using the baked in cranes at the London Docks on Normandy Map It is a very basic animation method but will do a simple job. You can do the same for your Hanger Doors - 1 - Create 5 door 3d models ( or how many you want ) for hanger doors 3d models are - closed (Full door ) - 1/4 open - half open - 3/4 open - and open. 2 - Use a DML Sequencer to spawn and despawn the door models one after the other. then use a reverse sequence to close the door. 3. You can use the DML " lookfor " to trigger the sequencer. eg - " lookfor " a specific approaching aircraft outside hanger ) I use this method to control level crossings and signals as trains approach. Even activates which signal to use at junctions by the approaching Trains name. ED you need to fix the broken " TRAIN DEACTIVATION PLEASE " Trains are still going off track as Lawn Mowers.
  8. Thank you for your hard work.
  9. Thanks for explnation. I try to follow the rules, but i know it`ll take a while til I got everything in mind. Thank you. I keep your advices in mind. And I will work hard to manage that bird. If others can, I can do it too (sooner or later).

    Ditching

It's bad enough you can't ditch in the channel in ETO. It will be even worse in ETO. It you were in doubt you could do the landing on the boat (damage, visibility, etc) you ditched close to a destroyer in the fleet and got picked up. I also hope they fix the instant death of ejection into the sea. This is needed both both for Korea and Vietnam. Untold number of pilots got saved by barely making it feet wet in a damaged jet and ejecting into the water. Some times so close to shore the north Vietnamese tried to get the pilots by sending patrol boats after them
  12. Ive taken a look at your miz and scripts and believe this is not a DCS issue A lot of your table structures are incorrect and some 'id' values you put in simply do not exist in DCS hense the "Unknown task" Errors and when the 'id' is valid you give it incorrect DATA than it wont accept so wont execute (BTW) in the scripting API attempting to making a plane land at the coords of a carrier i dont think it will do much because that would be a impossible task for the plane i dont know atm of a better solution for this.... Anyway DCS is requires specific table structures to make task works and even if it gets it it still does it own will TLDR; dont take this negatively but read the hoggit task wiki bit more : https://wiki.hoggitworld.com/view/Category:Tasks and follow the exact table structures and try doing one task at the time and maybe use "push task" not "set task" I have automated a lot of the task generation although working with AI is very difficult and annoying in the Scripting API All my systems still seem to work (Sorry cant share any) so with what ive seen very sure its not DCS today Hope this helps
  13. Thanks for the list if variants.
  14. For some reason I see two folders: C:\Users\USER_1\Saved Games: 1. DCS 2. DCS.openbeta Is this correct?
  15. "The number of times people have tested stuff that's broken, but when they do post a track it's user error....." Was this user error? Downloading it then loading DCS and pulling up the track takes nearly as much time as setting up two AI aircraft in the ME. This is not a complicated test to create. It also does not tell you what the group/waypoint settings were, whether the recorder is using mods or scripting that may interfere, or a host of other things that can cause strangeness. Already someone else did the same type of test and found additional variables without resorting to a specific track file. Sometimes, doing a simple test yourself is the easiest way to proceed. You wasted more time with your track file lecture than it takes to setup the test. So here we are.
  16. I have not tried VD with the Quest 3 as I use a powered USB cable. Do not see the need so far...
  17. The Dream Air SE looks interesting. Far more sensibly priced, higher res than the QP, Eye Tracking and a DPMI connection. No, it's not got the mega res of the full fat Dream Air, but that might be a good thing in DCS, as it'll be easier to run. I'll be looking out for reviews on that.

  19. Installing a customized cockpit folder, to %USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Liveries\Cockpit_AH-64D only works, if the folder is named 'Default' i.e. \Cockpit_AH-64D\Default. If any other name is used, it always results in the original cockpit textures being applied.
  20. Well, you have tables with the limits. If you don't want to kill your engines, you need to know the limits. And then it's just adjusting MP/RPM/blower to stay within engine operating limits and working the 3 cooler handles to keep the Oil, Cylinder and Carburetor temp within the limits. There is not much else a tutorial is able to teach you other than know the limits. If cylinder head temp gets too hot you can either increase speed, lower MP or open the cowl flaps. If carburetor temp gets too hot you can increase speed, change blower or open the intercooler flaps. If oil gets too hot you can increase speed, lower MP or open the oil cooler flaps. If you are at full throttle and MP keeps dropping, you must adjust blower. Just to mention a few examples. If the temps get too cold you can obviously do the opposite Look at the table on the left wall for general engine operating limits. They are probably in the manual too if you want to print it/not snap your neck.
  21. Read the included manual, and read real-world handbooks, and you’ll be good. Goggle “Corsair POH” and you’ll find a real handbook. Also, watch all of Reflected’s videos pinned in the forum. You can also download my checklists here and follow them, and you should be good , but you still need the knowledge of how the aircraft works by reading the documentation mentioned above. This module, like most, is very in depth and requires some studying before you hop into the cockpit. I would also suggest finding a MP group that appeals to you, one where people are flying the Corsair. The community is very friendly and someone will take you up on an invaluable training flight. If you can’t find one, hit me up on Discord, same username, and we’ll see if our schedules align one of these days https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3345803/
  22. Hi. just to share a simple way to point Shkval at a known target in mountain areas, some of u may already known, but in case u don't 1. A known target,u need to know it's coordinates and elevation(in this case, the target(actually a friendly LAV25)is at 579m) 2.Enter it via PVI-800,as a target point, and select it via PVI-800.(note PVI800 uses Lat Long Decimal Minutes format,u can use LALT+Y to change the coordinates format displayed on the F10 map) 3.check ur local QNH,ur can check briefing in most case, but if the mission is using dynamic weather,u may want to find it urself.(ie.landing on a place which elevation is known, and set cockpit altimeter to match the ground elevation, then the altimeter pressure setting will be ur QNH) 4.use any calculator(u can find a lot via google),input target elevation and QNH(lines), convert them into target QFE (circle) (meter and mmHg is used for ka50) 5.Input the target QFE in ur cockpit altimeter 6.!!!!!!FLY ABOVE 300 METERS AGL!!!!! (VERY IMPORTENT,since when above 300m AGL the yellow Shkval LOS line drawn on the ABRIS will use cockpit altimeter as the altitude reference, when below 300m AGL,radar altimeter reading will be used,u won't want that unless the terrain is perfectly flat,in that case just starting from step7) 7.uncage Shkval, since u can't enter altitude via PVI800,it will point at mean sea level, the target is lined up only horizontally,u need to adjust on vertical direction by urself. 8.focus on the ABRIS,adjust Shkval vertically, until the end of "yellow Shkval LOS line" is merged with the "blue target box",DON'T use laser rangefinder through out the whole process. 9.Bingo.(note the more altitude difference between u and the target, the more accurate it will be,also there will be some heading error due to INS drift) also after u have found the target u can use range finder to make Shkval LOS fixed at it's position.

  23. This issue one would have thought they should have caught for sure with beta testers playing normally. I'm reasonably proficient with the ME and it too me longer than a minute to set it all up and boot into it. If you had bothered to post a track I wouldn't have needed to. And with the details you provided it definitely wasn't clear that it happened in all aircraft/with all weapons (saying you tested this extensively is meaningless because it could have been variations on the same specific combinations of aircraft that had an issue where others might not have). It baffles my mind why people are so completely resistant to posting a track when they say they've tested it extensively. Just hit save track and post the freaking thing. Honestly it's just the polite thing to do so somebody else doesn't have to spend time recreating it. And this "yahoo" definitely won't be posting tracks for you next time when you have that attitude. The number of times people have tested stuff that's broken, but when they do post a track it's user error.....
  24. I need a good tutorial, which explains what and when to do the right thing. Until then I will be lost-the new features make me crazy.
  25. Eagerly waiting for this magnificent airplane.
  26. AC-130 это Call of Duty, когда от неё не хотелось блевать (ну или не так сильно). Косплей миссии из игры. И всё. Больше ничем AC-130 не интересен.
