@BIGNEWY, The GeorgeAI is getting better. It still has issues lasing a target. Hearing him say, "Constraints" is a good reminder to line up the shot prior to missile launch. I can't imagine the struggles the ED team had to work the kinks out of this new system. Well done! I have a recommendation with all of the new GeorgeAI features incorporated in the Jul 23 update: I noticed the ability of GeorgeAI to lase a target when de-WASed by short press right on the GeorgeAI panel. Again, that is while the CPG has nothing WASed. Would it be possible to add the same "lase" command while the RF missile is selected? See my screenshot as an example. In this example, the "DESIG AGAIN (Designate Again)" function would be similar to the "Laser On" function when the AI is de-WASed. This would force the CPG to lase the target and send target data to the RF Hellfire before a launch. A short press to the right would allow the CPG to momentarily lase the target again for a firing solution. I can create a wish list thread for this idea, if you'd think it would help.

Good to hear. You might try experimenting with different USB ports before exchanging the drive. Also see if there are any firmware updates available from the manufacturer. I had an SSD that was performing terribly until I saw that an update had been released to address that specific problem.

Why are people SOOOOO resistant to posting a track? It's the easiest thing you can do and often shows some simple step that's not mentioned in the written description that is causing the issue and saves so much time guessing what's actually going on for people trying to help. In your original post you mentioned both the button and the keybind not working which suggested a procedural error (in fact you even said "Am I missing something stupid?"). A track would help diagnose what you missed or help ruling out a procedural error. Now mentioned if you plug (presumably the old hardware) back in it works fine. Which suggests a possible hardware issue. Good luck figuring it out.

Thank you but I just do not have the time allocation to make my own missions. I want to learn the craft and load up on missions and just do them. I would be quite bored if I had to make a mission, as I would know what to expect. I like the element of the story and surprise. For example, I loved the only campaign I finished for F-15C Georgian War...omg what an experience. That is what I am looking for.

Drive F definitely is too slow to load the big data for sure.
-
So, take a guess. I don't think a track file of the published training mission will help to isolate the issue with ONE button. All I wanted to do was to verify the integrity of new hardware. If I plug the warthog throttle back in it works fine. Thank you. Does anyone else have some helpful information?

I have both and use the C-101 a lot. It is one of my favorite modules. I spent a lot of time learning the mission editor and make my own content though. When making your own missions, the possibilities are endless. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-2ez7Bltb9M But yeah, if you are looking for official/unofficial missions, there is not a lot of content out there.

Pimax Super, order and delivery dates, please post.
Panzerlang replied to Panzerlang's topic in Pimax
Three days since the last email, in which they noted "3 to 5 working days to complete shipment", which was an increase from the previous "2 to 3 working days", followed by "have prioritized your order". Apart from the inherent insanity of that I could not see any tells that it was the product of an AI bot, which means...yes...an actual human typed it. A human totally oblivious to the insane contradictions therein. As a keen student of insanity and the human condition in general, I still found my mind wobbled on its axis a bit. Yeah. You'd think "have prioritized your order" would be "Hey fella, go grab that unit off the shelf AND POST IT...NOW!!!" But no. And, to assume zero insanity or a level of incompetence and ineptitude so far off the scale as to merit an orbit around Neptune, one is forced to consider actual malice. Yeah, it's deliberate. Just thinking out loud. -

After the last update of DCS I can´t connect my LotATC Client (in my Notebook) to my LotATC Server by IPv4 on my PC where i run DCS. The message is Connection Refuse. Are there any problems at this moment?

ну и там ещё Smooth Motion можно в драйвере включить типа(я в инспекторе включаю и это и длсс4 с "К" прессетом итп...)

Hey everyone, I have had some time to do DCS these days. I was looking at the C-101 and MB-339 jets, and I hear these are good modules. But how do you guys use them? I do not see any professional campaigns and there aren't that many user driven campaigns in the user file sections (unless I am not searching properly). What do you guys do with it in the sim? just do the training tutorials which come with it? How goes the updates on these modules? I do not see that much activity in their subforums on this site. I am deciding on buying these 2 crafts or not. Thank you

Hi Guys, I think you might have solved it !!! Well had a few spare minutes this morning and downloaded the Crystal Mark disk benchmark program and did a few test - so here they are: Drive D - 1TB internal SSD (DCS previously installed on here) 3 or 4 tests (I don't know why they drop throughout the tests) Read 562 / 534 / 385 / 37 Write 531 / 517 / 354 / 121 Drive H - 2TB external SSD (MSFS2020 installed on here) Read 468 / 453 218 / 35 Write 448 / 430 / 187 / 35 Drive F - Brand new 2TB SSD - (this is where I am trying to install DCS and having issues) Read 72 / 59 / 1.33 / 0.41 Write 77 / 69 / 0.83 / 0.58 Looks like this SSD is not working correctly as just way below the other drive speeds. Just to confirm with you if this looks like the problem - I will take it back and get a new one to try Your thoughts please Thanks

investigating F-16 F110 Underperforming in Mil Power
Exorcet replied to Exorcet's topic in Bugs and Problems
I was sent a helpful suggestion to test the F-16 takeoff roll since there was some discussion on whether the acceleration issues were down to drag or thrust. I've done the tests and it looks like the thrust in mil power is giving expected results. Test 1 - 34015 lbs 102 DI Real KIAS at 2000 ft from brake release - 136 Sim KIAS at 2000 ft from brake release - ~135 Test 2 - 42000 lbs at 144 DI Real KIAS at 2000 ft from brake release - 122 Sim KIAS at 2000 ft from brake release - ~120 Testing was done at Sas Al Nakheel in Hormuz at 10 ft MSL. Engine run to 90% RPM before throttle up to mil and brake release. This suggests that drag may actually be the culprit, though there is a possibility that the thrust curve of the engine is correct at very low speeds and incorrect at flight speeds. A response from ED @BIGNEWY @Lord Vader would be helpful. I have the source data as well, but following the procedure from last year will not post in forum. -
You are free to think that "In combat missions, the carrier does not orbit, but sails like the carrier in Ace Combat. In war, you never know what will happen next, so you have to deal with it flexibly, and launch/recovery is not always done in a safe area where a diversion airfield can be set up. This is the way real carrier operations should be." And I do not deny those who like that type of mission, and I do not want such missions to become impossible to create. However, if this topic is a wish topic for people who want to realize more realistic carrier operations, posting such opinions goes against the purpose of the topic. Aircraft and carriers are very expensive military assets, so they are operated in places where threats are absolutely not allowed to approach under any circumstances. If an aircraft carrier, which is the pride of America, were to be sunk by carelessly operating in an area where threats are expected, the disappointment and dismay of the American people in the U.S. military would be incomparable to the national feelings that arose as a result of the Vietnam War. But when you think about it, carrier operations in the Pacific War were very risky. Even the Japanese Navy's attack on Pearl Harbor was a strange event, with nearly 200 aircraft launched at once in the open sea with no alternative airfields. I can't help but wonder if they didn't plan carefully enough because it was the early days of carrier operations, or if it was actually a US Navy plane with Japanese markings that was launched from a US Navy aircraft carrier (which may be why there were no US aircraft carriers anchored at Pearl Harbor at the time). And I suspect that the current conservative US carrier operations, which are determined to "never let US soldiers die," were built on the accumulation of such experience. Oh, sorry. I've digressed, but that's why merging with cyclic ops is inevitable in order to avoid posting incorrect opinions. If this is not done, it would be unreasonable to complain that wishes in the same context are intentionally split up, making the number of wishers appear small and difficult to realize.

A decidedly more practical and useful idea than the monthly 'all automatic AAR wish' thread.

First, something like this would be an option, just like the IFLOLS for the SCM. If you don't want it, take a ten-twenty second jaunt through the settings, and turn it off. Some people have a hard time seeing the lights at all. Sure, you can probably see them just fine in VR, or with a high enough resolution screen and GPU... but not everyone has that... actually... for that matter... I'd be willing to bet money that at least 40% or more of the community is running the game with a computer that can run it at OK settings, and using lower-end controls. If my estimate is correct, then this option would likely help a fairly significant portion of the community, which in turn leads to better investment into DCS, which means more money spent on modules, etc. A small bit of development time to make AAR a little easier... and ED will reap the rewards. I can only see this as an absolute win.

Still having no luck with this after update.
