Just wanted to say hello to everyone. I've been watching this sim develop for a long time. Waiting just over the ridgeline if you will. I think the producers have done a great job putting out information. I try to watch the videos again and again, hoping to pick up something new. Releasing the 3rd party plug-ins will insure DCS:BS for years, even as new editions to DCS are released. Personally I'm waiting for the AH-64 to be released. I'm a rotor-head. I'm already starting to budget for a new rig with HOTAS, IR Tracker, pedals, and anything else that will help me put lead on target. I'm hoping to get some good feedback on pc specs. I'll have my pre-order in as soon as they start taking orders. I'm sure there are alot of simmers out there that are waiting like me. We dont mind the wait, because I know you guys are making forward progress and working hard at releasing a quality sim. Will there be bugs? of course, but we as a community will get them identified and you guys will get them fixed. Eventually I would like to join a virutal squadron and learn this beast together with like minded pilots that are interested in being top notch Ka-50 drivers. Not "shoot-em up" kamakazis. Well again, nice to meet everyone and its nice to get up on these boards. We are close gentlemen, lets stay positive and not start getting crazy here near the end. SunDown

:protest::protest::protest::protest::protest: This is the reason I dont play other game any more. This is a simulator not a head to head combat kill anything that moves death and destruction game. It is about learning the real life tatics of a helo desined to suport troops and take out lite (not mass) targets. I for 1 am discused buy the words that come out of your head. :ranting:It is people like you that start it and it becomes a hack fest of who has the best hack and cant be found out. Pleas dont destroy this sim buy making it in to just another Halo shoot fest..:chair: Sorry had a bad day. You want a glory? Join a squad. Personally I think it's good how -let's say- the ranking works now. I imagine how desperate I could be if my pc would freeze up after succesfull sortie just before landing in multi counting mission.

I don't know know the whole story but Bohemia Interactive Studio developed OFP and it was published by Codemasters. BI then broke off from Codemasters but Cosemasters still owns the name OFP. So BI makes ArmA and ArmA 1 and Codemasters makes OFP 2. Something like that anyway. The 2 games are in competition.

Well I did go mental on you and shuld not have. Sory for that. But my fealings of a rankings I am still aginst. Now mabe just a stats page would be a little diffrent. I have tryed LOCKON and it was the reason I stoped flying flight sims. As for flying with stats I have verry much dun in the past. I have over 20 years of flight sim exp. I have dun the ladder compitions in 3 difrent flight sims. of witch I was in the top 50 of pilots in all 3. And in every ladder that I compeated.some but head had to find ways to cheat the system to get beeter stats thanothers. Due to the lack of their skills (reason 2 why i stoped flight sims). I finly found a grup of guys playing AA just like me that didnt care about stats and just wanted to have fun. Of recent time a few of thim have started to stat hunt and I hav with drawn from them they make it no fun to just play the game. As for the respect. I don't realy know you or what you are all about. I had a bad day yesterday and took it out on your post. If you wish to come over and slap me a bit I can PM you my address. Что -нибудь от Интела на сегодня быстрй чем у конкурентов, но и дороже. Если опять берешь на 4 года, то бери 4-х ядерный, если на год, то хватит и двух (соответственно перенаправиь средства внутри системника). Реальной оптимизации в играх под 4 ядра еще надо поискать. Точно не 9ххх - в сравнении с АТИ выглядит неубедительно что производительность, что цена. Ну а нынешняя цена на nv 280 никак не оправдывается в сравнении с цена/произ-ть 4870. Тем более что у последней скоро х2 выйдет. Я бы подождал до второй половины осени - нвидии придется скинуть цены, да и ЦПУ с новомодными чипсетами подешевеют. Т.е. до следующего проколения ЦПУ и ГПУ еще долго, а цены уже не шибко кусаются. Кстати, рекомендую еще потратиться на хороший большой корпус, ежли такового нет. Нынешние видеокарты, даже двухслотовые с выбросом потока, имеют такую температуры платы что греют системник до неприличия.

Man, it's not BF2 or other crappy arcade BS (not Black Shark), LOMAC have tracking system which tracks you as long as you manage to keep your butt alive and you also getting promoted... I don't need to know what is your rank or how many times you've crashed... so tracker is not needed. You can't compare Falcon 4 to DCS they're light years apart. Strange you don't ask for unlocks and stuff... ;)

It's not as black and white that you have classified aircraft and non-classified aircraft (if you want to take it litterally a classified aircraft would be an aircraft which existence is secret, like the F-117 used to be). There is usually some or more systems in the aircraft which are classified. Hardly any modern combat aircraft contains no classified information. IFF, jammers and radars are among the systems commonly classified (at least in part). And I'm convinced most of the planes ED already have planned to make include some such classified systems. So I guess it's more of a grey area, they want to have as much public information as possible, and as little unknown (classified) as possible. But if they ruled out every plane which contains some classified information then there wouldn't be many modern planes to model, so they will have to be a little less strict than that ;)

And that's why the F15 E won't come out. It is classified. And as Wags already said, ED will only bring out content that is non-classified. And this is a really good Idea:thumbup: There are enough Aircraft's out there, which are not classified. You want the E-model? Go on and make it yourself when ED brings out the tools. Don't know how the Radar is exactly working? Or the CMS? Or the the correct length of the wings.? Or..... :D They also don't. And then you have an Aircraft which is not 99% correct simulated, you will get a 80% correct simulated Aircraft. They never said 100%!! But as close as it gets, means no classified stuff! yes it would be in game, but based upon the multilayer part. i've been in vvs 504th red hammers since 2004. so i know about squad playing. i just tought it would be a cool extra in the game, i dont see why people get so upset about it. for me personaly it would mean more realistic flights, since the flight would become more exiting and enjoyable.( if you get shot down u loose your stat points. ) but when people peaple go to the extreme and say that they get discused by the worlds coming out of my mouth. .. its not worth it.. your noobs.. the both of ya.. you'r off my buddy list bitch

You've missed the whole point of DCS - accuracy & fidelity in simulation - & you don't get these things through guessing. ED have identified a market niche they want to occupy, and for this "near enough is good enough" just isn't

OK guys I made it to Kecskemet on a Saturday (Aug 15th) morning, I got up pretty early that day (4AM) and hit the road at 5 o'clock. It was a pleasant drive despite heavy and low clouds in the sky. There was no rain along so I arrived pretty fast to Kecskemet and parked my car pretty close to airbase, just across the street. I had 20000 HuF in my pocket, enough for me but I was surprised with parking lot fare of 1500HuF. I thought it was free as stated on the official airshow web site. ^Perhaps I got it wrong, dunno! It was still early when I arrived (cca 09:30AM), weather was still hung so I had some coffee and ate a sandwitch! I took my jacket just in case of rain but later it seemed more like the burden I had to trekk around. I ran into some Croatian spotter crews that I know from local forums but saw them "live" for the first time! We had couple of beers to celebrate our nationality and...mmph...health, of course! As program closely followed timings weather turned to sunny during afternoon. It was pretty hot later on, IMHO! So I made lots of photos that I'm about to share within next week. Reason being that is the MoBo failure I have ATM and uploading those pics from my girlfriend Natasha's P-II with 56K connection that I use these days is, well let's see, time wasting procedure. (You might have also noticed me being pretty offline last week and a 1/2, but now you know why!) So I'll continue updating this thread with Kecskemet Airshow pics when I put my rig back in business, I must replace MoBo - S478 with same or similar one and upgrade couple of mature hardware items inside like X800 with HD3850. Many peeps ask why don't I just build another PC with up to date hardware but I hate trashing entire thing 'cause this rig could be a pretty good digital typewriter someday and is pretty decent LOFC platform! Of course, I'll buy new PC too but not before DCS:BS becomes available. In other words I'll wait for DCS:BS to baptise it with! All in all, it was a wonderful Saturday in Hungary! Expect pics! Soon...I hope!

I think you are missing the point of the Red Flag training or any military training. AFAIK the aggressor squadrons are not there to fight with the trainees and defeat them. Most, if not all, aggressor pilots are very, very experience guys and they would have the advantage against most pilots but what would the trainees learn from being defeated? The aggressor will make it hard but they have to fight the F-5 (or any aircraft for that matter) fight. That way the trainees can take something from the whole exercise and learn and hopefully, be able to pass that experiences among their Home unit pilots and better train improving their training at their home base. Just because an aircraft defeats and aggressor aircraft does not mean that aircraft is better that the Aggressors. I bet if they take all restrictions from the aggressors, they would win most of the engagement. Remember, they can re-spond during the exercises and they are very aggressive and experience pilots. My two cents anyway.
