  1. Hello First of all, DCS BS is an awesome game, all creds to ED. Awaiting the A-10 and the patch, I would like to make a suggestion. What about having a Campaign creation competition? Everyone can participate, and the task is simple; create the best campaign under some preset rules/conditions, and the winner (top 3) wins a prize. The exact rules of the competition would of course have to be set by ED, here are som suggestions though: Rules and conditions: First, the preset conditions, where the number of mission should be set (5?), the overall difficulty (Medium?), number of AI vehicles (to make it playable on most systems) and so on. Mission should be for Single Player. The campaign is evaluated in three "parts" that are equally important: Playability: How well does it play? Any hick-ups? Is it any fun at all? AI: How well does the AI work? Is there any strange things happening, vehicles driving into each other, traffic jams etc. Also, can you fly over enemies without them engaging you and so on. Ambience: How well does the creator capture the "right feeling" with a nice briefing/background information/radio traffic and so on. You could also instate a fourth part, Realism, but then, who are we to judge this? Winner: The winner would be appointed here on the forum by a vote. Of course this will be very arbitrary and subjective, but on the other hand, the same rules applies for all. To prevent people from cheating (for example registering many nicks to be able to vote many times), the prize(s) should be very... humble (who would go through a lot of fuzz just to win a 40 $ prize?). Prizes (suggestion): 1:st prize: A copy of the A-10, and the hardback of the Flight manual for both the A-10 and the KA-50. 2:nd prize: A copy of the A-10. 3:rd prize: A copy of the Flight manual for either the A-10 or the BS. If there is many campaigns participating, well, it will be up to the Campaign creator to promote his own campaign, with briefings/pictures from the campaign here on the forum. Perhaps not all campaigns will be flown in the competition, but if we could get some disc space from ED, well, they would have several downloadable campaigns for those who are interested for the future. I'm sure my idea has many problems, that needs to be solved, but I think this could improve the interest for the game, since playing your own missions feels like... cheating, since you know it all. I also think it is a cheap way for ED to increase the life-length of the BS, meaning that there will not be ten posts every week on "When will the A-10 ber released?" So, I'm up for a fight in Mission Editor/Campaign Builder. Are you?

  2. I'm very close to submitting my screenplays to a small, boutique agency. I'm also on the lookout for prodco that accepts query letters so if you know one please share that info with me. I've gotten positive reviews of one of my scripts from several people (no, they are not related to me) - wish me luck and finger crossed for me, man. I need this -- And viper, I haven't forgotten about you, man.

  3. WHOOooooOOOOTTT...... HOTAS incl. FFB... I need to update myself... looks strange on the first sight but Im used to 10 years of X36 design. Edit: WOW.. all the features my friends and I were looking for. Never found sth like that so we made our own. But I would put my custom made away. I also noticed now that the peddals are included. Wow... So I could sell my Saitek Peddals to lower expenses.

  16. "non FFB Rudder patch" Hello - I was also searching long for a solution to unchain the rudders and the Trim of the cyclic. I finally found it more or less by accident: I haven't connected my Saitek Rudder pedals correctly before flight and I tried to control the rudders with the keyboard while controlling the rest with my Cougar. While doing this I realised that after hitting only short "x" or "y" (Default keys for rudder control) it instantly overrides the trimmed position of the Rudders and it will be in a neutral position again wile the cyclic remains in trimmed position. So I programmed a little script for my Cougar: USE ALL_DIRECTX_BUTTONS USE MICROSTICK AS MOUSE (11, 3, 1) REM This resets the Trim of the rudders immediately to a neutral REM position after trimming the Ka-50, so you REM have full control over the rudders and your rudder input will stay the REM same while the Stick is trimmed to a new position. BTN H4U /H t BTN H4M {y x}BTN H4 is the four way switch at the left side of the handel that you controll with your thumb. And the script works as follows: While I hold the button forward it sends "t" for Trim. When I release the button to the Middle position (BTN H4M) it sets a new trim to the cyclic (because "t" isn't pressed any more) and also sends to very short keystrokes of "x" and "y" simultaneously and resets the rudder to its neutral position again instead of adding the Trim to your current position. That leads to the nice effect that You will not have a misalignment of your real and virtual position. I mean when I look into the cockpit than I don't see full rudder left while I'm holding my legs neutral after trimming. It will always reflect my real position and I don't have to "Look down" any more to know where my rudders are. So I don't have to readjust my feet every time when trimming (...and I trim very often...) . I can now fly very stable in crosswind and while flying hard turns. I think this script should also be very easy to adapt to a X52 or other programmable device. And it's absolutely irrelevant witch rudder input you use. This is how the script should work for your Trim button (button X): when "button X" is pressed = permanent keystroke "t" until release the button -for Trim if "button X" is released = sending short keystroke of "x"+"y" -for recentre the rudders to the actual real position And you can easily try it yourself before programming: press once short "x" or "y" after you trimmed your rudders - and watch what will happen - :) I hope you enjoy this "non FFB Rudder patch" until the patch comes out (or someone offers working FFB rudders) - and have also the same "boost" of your flying skills like I had.

  17. Thanks. :) Glad you enjoyed them. Doing okay but much too busy. Working on a new F-15 tutorial (TWS) in my spare time. Here are a few more--no action. Just playing with atmospheric effects in the sim. Some nice mods out there: Rich
