That wouldn't allow us to have the fun ourselves. Tested SA-18 StrelaS. Aircraft is 500m 200kmph, large 70-80° cut through threat circle to about 50% range. 3 shots for this system. Format is XXX (Program): H (Hit), N (Near miss), F (Far miss) 017: F,F,H* 017: F,F,H* 017: F,F,F** 019: F,F,N 011: F,F,N 012: N,N,N 013: H,N,F 014: H,H,F *Due to high flare usage last missile used dispenser on the left (far) side from the threat **Repeat of the test above it but using the left (far) side for the first two missiles and the right (near) side for the last 023: F,F,F 024: H,N,N 034: H,N,? SA-9 Gecko, 45° offset 012: F,H,H,N 023: H,F,H,H 053: H,H,F,N Post-launch deployment (about 1/2 way) 181: N,N,N,N Chapparal - 45° offset 012: H,F,F,N Avenger 023: Fx3, Nx2,F,N Avenger 100kmph 013: N,Hx5, Nx2 024: 50% H Overall I found that timing is very important. For high speed and angles it usually only takes one flare in the beginning 10-30% of the missile's flight to have it miss. Long sequence delays had the problem of being very hit and miss with such short flight time. 011 proved to be slightly more reliable than 022 for this reason (and much more than 033) despite the same usage of flares over a given time. Probability of hit improved noticeably with later shots as the first one was the most likely to miss and later missiles tracking better. Using more flares during a missile flight greatly increased the odds of deflecting the missile, even at small angles. 2 and up to 6 showed noticeable improvements over a single flare, especially for a delayed launch. The newer and heavier missiles seemed slightly harder to spoof (AIM-9, SA-13) but not by much. SA-9 was the weakest tracker by far. Dispenser side seemed to make some difference in certain situations but not in others.5 points

Hello ModMan 7.3 will be available this week-end. it will support new graphics_bs.cfg file for BS 1.0.2 it will officialy support FC 2.0 patch 1.2.1 for BS 1.0.2, if you can't wait, just UNCHECK "when possible, install texture in CDDS files', so ModMan will use temptexture folder and all skins will work (with few fps loss) best regards Skypat2 points

LOL? Mate. You're looking at the same missiles when you are pressing F6. Just look at these, and I'll say it again: There were only TWO AIM-120 launches on you, and both hit you. You managed to get one of the F-15C's (after the fact your radar was knocked out BTW). Below I have just about left in the 1st AIM-120 trail as it hit you.1 point

The gearbox oil temperature is pretty much the same like the OAT, so you can use it to read the OAT. In the game, it's not warming even with running engines, in reality I have no idea. So the point is you can use it to determine the outside temperature. A little correction here: I made a mistake, it is the hydraulic oil temp which always shows the outside temp . The gearbox oil temp actually rises with running engines, sorry again I didn't remember correctly :)1 point

Может уже было, но все же. При посадке на "Кузнецов" постоянно мигает желтый сигнал, хоть в глиссаде, хоть выше, хоть ниже. При прохождении кампании "Реванш" в миссии атака колонны(первая после полигонов) игра вылетает над целью. В меню настроек не реагируют галочки субтитров и радио. Хоть галочки и убираю, и то, и другое присутствует. Один раз С-25Л после схода остановилась перед самолетом, как будто ее привязали к палке длиной метра 3. Так и летал, с ракетой впереди. А так, спасибо разработчикам, игра очень понравилась, Все классно, кроме отвратительных, и ни на что не похожих радиопереговоров.1 point

You can edit \Config\View\Labels.lua there you can edit what kind of information you wanna display and on what distance. my personal opinion - you should try to move the other direction - lower range, less info1 point

I'm sorry but this is a common mistake all you guys do. To replicate ANY bug your description of the problem of this kind is useful but a track, screenshots and the mission are the things that really help. Please, ALWAYS attach the track and say when appears the supposed bug. Why? It's easy, it's the only way to replicate at 100% the same conditions as you (hardware and o.s. issues at a side) All the requests what are asked for in the famous Helping us to helping you post are not because someone is bored, we ask for them because are the things that really helps. Two questions: 1. This happens with non-patched fc2 as well? (if you are unsure, maybe you can test it?, you dont need to remove your current installation, just back it up) 2. This is going to sound strange/noobish, but I have experienced situations where the ATT actually has caused CTDs for me (quick ones, such as program doesnt launch if ATT is installed but launches as soon as I uninstall it). Could you test without ATT? (I will test your settings regardless when I get home today) With 400 MB i was referring to the ingame memory usage display1 point

Makes sense. The missiles would miss by a rather wide margin the whole time. It's a shame that you get shot at anyway but maybe that's an improvement down the road. I miss Falcon's IADS that would try to be clever about shooting you. I'll run some more tests to see what flare density is required for a pre-launch spoof, post-launch spoof, etc. I wonder if different IR SAMs have different lock strengths in DCS. I guess the whole point of the discussion is to determine what can and should be done in terms of pilot input in various situations. If pre-emptive flares work in the sense that they spoof despite an ill-advised launch better than a reactionary flare sequence... then that's what DCS pilots should be aware of.1 point

Mustang could you specify your exact hardware setup, drivers, a printscreen of your 3d settings and ingame settings so I can replicate your test in detail? My test was 1024 windowed on a hd4870 512 MB on winxp32 sp3 E8400 4gigs of ram Ingame settings were stock1 point

Купил диск . Несмотря на все опасения это действительно стоящий проект . Еще раз убедился в своей правоте минимальный улучшения в графики и другая игра почти. Отличный звук наконец то хотя ничего сверх нету и есть недочеты. Ракеты при всем уважении к ЕД просто не могут так летать ни наши ни американские и это ОЧЕНЬ портит игру тем что переводит геймплей из " хорошо вышел на цель подобрался поближе пустил попал" в разряд "появилась цель на радаре нажал пуск " . Вообщем есть над чем работать и думать ,но одно точно за это нежалко отдать было 450 руб. Отличное оформление обложки диска тоже порадовало. Тот парень что писал саундтрек к заставке молодец надеюсь услышать его произведения и в следующих проектах.1 point

ИМХО неправильно. То, что есть хорошо для Battlefield 2 не есть хорошо для ГС. Еще с 1.12 тянется байда: 1. "Вася пупкин взлетел, отстрелил весь БК и вышел из миссии\врезался в огород" 2. Go to 1 И вроде как всем это ненравится но ничего поделать с этим нельзя. Где мотивация вернуться на базу и посадить ЛА? На одном из серверов игрок так и спросил - "а зачем возвращаться?" А действительно - зачем? Это ведь долго лететь назад, садиться а потом еще глушить двигатели и заправляться - проще убить самолет о ближайшую стену и взять новый. Хоть заделитесь на кол-во потерь, может он на взлете об каркасы новичков на впп поубивался или колонна растреляла на стоянке или птиц на взлете несколько раз словил или или или..... С существующей системой подсчета очков - мотивация поубивать больше врагов\фрагов не считаясь ни с чем - в том числе и с потерями своего ЛА, отсюда и растут ноги "аэрокваки" которая в печенках сидит уже...1 point

I watched the replay and the entire time the wingman was properly responsive to attack orders. #1 target was destryoed #2 target was assigned but before it could be attacked you assigned #3 target was assigned and destroyed #4 target (civil building) was assigned and destroyed after many, many Vikhrs by your wingman At the very end the Shkval is wandering weirdly over the terrain and then you said "attack this" wingman said "OK" and then the track ended.1 point

Соглашусь с Flank-ом и Zerol-ом статистика влияет на вирпилов в каком бы проявлении она не была,в первую очередь на самосохранение, я к примеру глядя на нормальную стату могу оценить кто как летает, при нынешней стате пилот отлетал час сбил 3-х получил 150 очков благоволучно вернувшись на аэродром, рядом висит "Вася" который дохнет в каждом вылете но тоже умудрился сбить 3-х и у него тоже 150 очков, я считаю это неправильно,ведь в какой то мере это соревнование, и для кого то думаю они важны хоть ни на что и не влияют. з.ы Димон опередил))1 point

по моему глупый вопрос раз уж есть система очков, то живому пилоту нужно давать больше очков в разы, а лучше на порядок, нежели посмертно, иначе начнут плодиться задроты которые выстреливают все и в землю ради очков выж там за реализм боритесь, в реале летчик стремится выжить1 point

I don´t think combat helo will have the high fidelity of DCS ut it has some other great features so it is ale to stand besides DCS:Apache. Depends on what the military customers want next I guess. причём тут бомбы и камушки? не будет при 45 градусах ничего от воды отскакивать разве что не контактные взрыватели у снарядов и все оф человек объяснил, что под углом 45*, вы ему про камушки, топмачтовое бомбометание, и про 100% при 20*, мне оно вообще по барабану какие там эффекты с водой, но если людям это важно и они это замечают, зачем аргументировать другими синтенциями совершеннмо? странно както и наверное если это сопровождается искрами на воде то может быть действительно такой рекошет отключить? также впрочем как и искры от земли, это действительно странно выглядит для такого симулятора и для 2010ого года в частности другое дело если балистика на данный момент просчитывается для всех предметов одинаково и касательно всех поверхностей, с точки зрения логики это очень можно понять, но не с точки зрения реализации, искорки от танков это замечательно, танки это вообще магниевые хлопушки если бронебойнозажигательным зарядить они так красиво феерверкают1 point

Hello guys, Well, let us take a small overview about the things I have. In past I created a "JetPack" for LockOn Flamingcliffs 1.12a. That included some Jets and Weapons. The mod needed a "meinit"-file to set hardpoints for pylons. After FC2.0 started and I re-newed my complete hard and software I started some small tests to bring some jets into FlamingCliffs2.0. F-16CJ: I re-wraped the fuselage completelly new to be able to use ED-textures for the model. It`s still "lowPoly" but much better as stock model. However , I`m very happy that other partys started to remodel the Falcon `course it is still a very importent and one of the most famous multi-role-fighter in FC2.0 Uploaded with ImageShack.us I used around 14.000 triangles for the shape and that should be pretty much okay for a LockOn model without using a LOD. I`m pretty proudly about the undercarriage. I created TGA files to show filigran structures and it works well Uploaded with ImageShack.us Su-30: Basecally all Flanker versions started by the famous Flanker B. So I hab to construct the Su-27 and upgraded the fuselage up to the Su-30 Flanker. In my personally meaning the Su-30 is the real modern interceptor for russian Airforce. She`s higly agile, dynamically and full with modern avionics. It`s possible to use modern weapons like R-77 to engage air targets while attacking ground objects with smart ammunition. Uploaded with ImageShack.us I`m not pretty sure with way ED will go in future - hope that fighters still will play a main role. So iff I have to build the Su-30MK in "high Poly" quality. Now it have`s 18.000 triangles while use one LOD. I had to made my own textures- It wasn`t possible to use ED`s `course I splitted the fuselage tip a bit earlier as ED did... Uploaded with ImageShack.us Su-27 Flanker B : The mother of all Flankers. So I had to start with it. It`s not so higly poly counted as 3GO`s model. That was very importent for me. I planed to configure it to Su-27SK or Su-35 But thistime its much more importent for me to modify less files as possible and build small weight datas `course noone will risk his FC2.0 installation for a mod. So we will see what future will bring us... Uploaded with ImageShack.us MiG29C and A: My first`s "HighPoly" models I builded and I`m very very proud of it. It`s looks much better as stock ones (more details) while having more performance and a better damage model I will pack all these fighters into one package- For myself. But I`m not pretty sure if someone will use seperated fighters. So I think I have to describe wich files you need for a single fighter mod. Thistime I have to check and check and check it with FlamingCliffs 2.0 . Sometime I locate some smaller mistakes I have to rapair. I have to controll wich datas FC2.0 still have in CDDS files and wich files I have to give into the Temp folder. A very interesting process .... All "JetPack`s" in web presentally still available created for FlamingCliffs1.12a so relax please- I`m not a machine. Okay so far- a small overview about my playgrounds.
