  2. Will there be any sort of implementation of maintenance in DCS A-10C? Ive always found it an interest part of military aviation, and would like a post flight report of what I broke. I imagine it will go down like this

  3. I made a small "mod" for FC2 with which you can display the A-10 Maverick TV view and the Su-25T Shkval TV view in a UI "overlay", external window or network stream. This can make it much easier to use the sights as you can put the image on a larger, static overlay or in a window on another monitor. It has some limitations, for example it does not know what plane you are flying so only one visual overlay type is supported which is used for both the Maverick and Shkval. Also, the RTT surfaces rendered by the game do not contain the overlayed data in them, such as the maverick crosshair and the Shvkal horizon etc. displays. You can only have a static crosshair over the scenery using an overlay image (default one looks similar to the maverick crosshair). With the network stream the image can also be displayed on another computer, though the stream (currently) does not work very well, or, I haven't been able to find a good enough player for Motion-JPEG streams. Firefox works pretty well but it does not scale the image, mplayer works but always ends up doing some kind of buffering which causes latency in the image... (Basically just extract to FC2 install dir, then whenever the Maverick/Shkval TV is active it should work. Edit the cfg to position it etc.)

  4. Трек. Первые 3 боя (из 10). В начале трека вы увидите обычный полёт без боя Миг-29 и Су-25 - не беспокойтесь, трек сходится, - это просто небольшая "разминка" перед боем.:) Еле освободил место во вложениях, думал, какие файлы-вложения можно удалить. P.S. Уже минут 10 прошло, кто-нибудь трек наконец загрузит?:) P.P.S. Но атмосферу "прямого эфира" к сожалению ни один трек не создаст (+ чата и ТС в треках нет:(), тут могу только посочувствовать тем, кому не удалось посмотреть.:( Можно попытаться "оживить" трек, включив какую-нибудь хорошую музыку.

  5. Ну, с учетом того, что за рулем Су-25 сидел опытный сегодня истребитель Зерол, а за рулем МиГ-29 - опытный два года назад штурм Лайм после перерыва в полгода, счет 6:4 на "надрать задницу" не тянет. :) Но выиграли, да.

The information i am asking for can only be provided by some on that is currently using the simulator . Dedicated to the community, V1.7 of my Editor MOD is available here: Lockon User Files and here: STP Forum (please hit "Refresh" if you see the old image) By installing this MOD the following features are added or changed in BS Mission Editor Coalitions Now you can change coalitions at any time. Click on the new coalitions icon to open the coalitions dialog. Trigger Editor Newly created trigger objects will be inserted into the trigger list behind the currently selected trigger item - not at the end anymore. In trigger dialog, there now are arrow buttons at the top of each listbox, so you can move the currently selected item one position up or down within the list. The new "CLONE" buttons below each of the lists create a deep copy of the currently selected trigger, rule or action and insert it behind the selected element. Changed the width of the two trigger edits "Name" and "Type" to enhance readability. If this proves to be helpful other edit box widths could be changed as well in future releases In trigger dialog, there now are two rule lists that are AND or OR combineable. The two modes ((OR) AND (OR)) and ((AND) OR (AND)) can be selected by pressing the new buttons "(A) AND (B)" and "(A) OR (B)" between the lists. It's up to you to leave one list empty. Existing missions created in older or unmodded installations are compatible and can be edited without limitations. Missions containing AND/OR triggers are runtime compatible with unmodded hosts. Unit List The new button "CLONE" creates a deep copy of the currently selected unit group including waypoints, targets, target categories, units, their payloads and liveries.   11. The tactical map is finally ready for purchase from Monday 14th June 2010! The scale is 1:500,000 The total size is 1050mm x 1400mm, and is folded to the size of 210mm x 280mm. The cost is £15.99 and initially will be available from http://fighter-collection.com/pages/tfc/flight%20simulation/index.php Hopefully it will soon become available from specialist sites such as Amazon, Simware and GoGamer etc. Postage and packing will be extra. Shipped from the UK, we estimate the average costs to be: Europe £3.77 Rest of the World £5.71 Course bearings: The Geo Grid (which should be taken as a reference to measure courses with plotter or protractor) will give “True” headings, and the average “magnetic declination” for this region is -5 degrees, meaning that you have to subtract 5 degrees from the measured heading on the map in order to get the magnetic heading for your flight. For those who require greater accuracy, the attachment on the DCS post shows the magnetic declination across the whole map. Of course a map is useless unless you can draw on it and then erase! I have tested 2 techniques:- Apply thin self adhesive film (i.e. http://www.paperstone.co.uk/cat_1-36_Self-Adhesive-Film.aspx) Being lazy, I tried to cover the map in one pass. DO NOT DO THIS. The map crinkles as you apply the film and ends up as a mess! The best strategy is to apply small areas (say 210mm x 280mm or 420mm x 560mm) with a slight overlap. It is a 2 person operation, one to hold the map and the other to apply the film (I used the edge of a ruler). I strongly advise that you practice on any large piece of paper before laminating your tactical map so that you find a correct procedure. The second option is to apply something like map seal (http://www.dailyhiker.com/gear/review-aquaseal-map-seal/) The instructions are that you should allow it to cure for 72 hours. They are correct. I tried writing on it after 24 hours with unfortunate results! The advantage of map seal is that it is very easy to apply. However I am not so certain about the durability of frequent writing and erasing on the surface. I tested on the surfaces with:- • Non permanent markers • Wet eraze chalk markers • Lumocolour Whiteboard markers • Pilot markers (erase by rubbing) All worked well on the film. Pilot markers seem to work best on map seal. To erase I used whiteboard cleaner or a damp cloth for markers that were water soluble. Personally I will continue to use film, which although takes time and care by 2 persons to apply, gives a foolproof long lasting result to write on and erase. For those squadrons that have a standard bullseye for missions, you can of course mark up the bullseye before applying film or map seal. Last but not least, greatest thanks go to Igormk who spent many dedicated months in producing this map. For those with access to large scale printers, the map will be available as a free download from the DCS download section.

  19. Отпишу тоже... Ну во первых, очень зрелищно! Азарт и накал страстей - неимоверные. Такого удовольствия от просмотра давно не получал, чуть мышку не развалил от волнения! Парни! Лемон Лайн и Зерол, ну просто класс! Респект Вам и уважение! Выводы: штурм имеет значительное преимущество в БВБ в сравнении с Мигом. Миги! Бойтесь Су-25 штурмов, они натянут в раз. Не скромничай, Лемон. В ганзо я неплохо разбираюсь. Внимательно смотрел, и могу сказать, что ты высококласный пилот, высшая лига ганзо. Прекрасно понимаешь теорию, умеешь диктовать свои условия боя, летаешь очень четко и правильно. До твоего уровня добраться очень не легко. То что ты не летал давно, на понимании боя никак не сказывается. Ты сделал все абсолютно правильно, и такой счет, просто результат того, что тебе противостоял превосходящий по характеристикам самолет, а не противник. По поводу опытного истребителя Зерола, то он никогда не летал на штурме. Можно посмотреть стату РАФ , Акады и других серверов, если есть у них стата, Зерола на су-25 и су-25 там нет. Эти самолеты с АФМ, и для того, чтобы хорошо на них летать, нужен опыт и мастерство. Поэтому Зерол такой же начинающий по моторному навыку, как и ты, возможно, потерявший его за пол года. Самое интересное, ставя опыты с ААК, получалось что на штурме как я могу выпилить его миг, так и он мой. Мы менялись. Разница в мастерстве тут не причем. Или су-25 очень клевый самолет, или миг опустили. Кто как думает? Самое интересное, что я готов спорить, что в вылете штурм против штурма, ты с легкостью победишь Зерола.

  20. Ну в общем то было очень трудно... Я честно говоря еще пару недель назад думал что штурм против ястреба никакой в пушечном бою. До этого на штурме я почти не летал ни в сети ни офлайн... В основном на су-27 больше. После того как меня побил Кот на Граче, когда я был на Миге сам удивился. Думаю если потренироваться в стрельбе по сетке у мига шансов будет меньше...

  21. Я про школу пилотов Топ Ган:D:doh: Во время Вьетнама американцы отрабатывали там БВБ против вёртких совецких самолётов типа Миг-19, их имитировал А-4. Да я тоже:) Вот о удовольствии, которое доставил бой двух опытных пилотов я могу ещё долго говорить. Я в момент начала боя собирался запустить музыку из своего любимого аркадного сима "Асе комбат 2", чтобы было интереснее смотреть, но было такое напряжение, что забыл это сделать. Вспомнил, только когда бой кончился.:) Получил столько драйва, а при это даже не сидел за "баранкой". Вот поэтому мы и летаем в Локон:thumbup:.

  24. Кстати, на самом деле, пожалуй что и больше. В феврале мы как раз с Зеролом и Котом летали в LOCERF, плюс пара тренировок перед ним - в основном, ДВБ и слетанность, БВБ не тренировали, а до этого я еще полгода не летал. Так что я доволен. :)

  25. Personally I think that ED should focus on the DCS series and move into the future not look back to waste resources on FC2. I guess it's all sells driven really if FC2 is selling strong then it would make sense to continue to support FC2 . Either way I will support ED's decision.

  27. Altitude. Speed advantage handoff to missiles is not properly modelled in FC2.0, so that leaves you with altitude. And yes it will make a large difference. 120C has longer range by a sizeable margin. The PK question is a wide question. It all depends on how you employ the missile. If I consistently fire my 120's B and C at Rmax, they'll both have poor PK. But in FC2.0 the 120 in general has a good PK, all things been equal, with the 120C being the longer arm of the two, therefore if you employ 120C's you will have more advantage than the 120B and be a bit safer.

  28. Pit design is nearing completion. The side console structure is much more refined now, all of the pieces fit together like a puzzle. It should stand solid just dry fitting the pieces together without any bolts. Still lots of work to do, main instrument panels included. Nice thing is, I can start building now that the tub dimensions are pretty much finalized.

  30. I am going to take a stab at this one... B-29 during some sort of restoration. What we see above coming across the picture is a gunner strap (so that the gunner doesn't come flying out if the aircraft loses pressure. Here is as close as we got (me and X-Man): and

  31. I prefer center position clearly. I have fixed my X52pro throttle to an adjustable sideboard so I can comfortably use it in any postion. Cyclic is centered because my arm can rest on my leg allowing fine movements without getting tired and I can better imagine the movement of any plane, more symmetric for my brain. Thats hard to describe.

  35. All kidding aside, my guess is mid-November, best case scenario. If it releases 2010, I'll be a happy camper. Also, as Coolts implied, I'd much rather have a polished product later. I remember making almost daily trips to the software stores from the 'firm' release date of August through December for F3, then waiting close to what 15 years after release for a playable version of F4 (being AF). I'm sure the guys in Russia are plugging away. They probably want this thing out the door more than we do.

  42. Hi Antonio, Please find below answers to your comments. In real life ZU-23 are usually nicely masked and Voron might simply not know about its existance. Secondly, you must always turn your head 360 degrees and try to notice enemy fire asap. Thirdly, after some missions where nothing deadly is happening, there should be some kind a wake-up event so that player is not getting too relaxed. :smilewink: According to the story these are not stationary border guard posts but moving border guard groups so HQ can't tell you their exact location - just approximate location. Finding all groups is difficult but possible (use night vision and front lamp, or combination of the above). Naval should have provided you with order to RTB. If it didn't happen that you've probably missed some waypoint or order (new triggers are often dependant on previous triggers). If it is important for you, we might look deeper into that. Looking forward to more feedback.:smartass:

  44. The problem was IMO that they never went far enough with missions, etc. and the fact that it took them 25 YEARS TO INCLUDE THEM. Most simmers need a feeling of progression and involvement which the largely sterile environments of FSX simply couldn’t offer. Your aircraft was empty for instance. Where are my hands? They got by for years on goodwill from within the company but when Bill Gates went, so did their free reign. “Former Microsoft CEO Bill Gates was fascinated with Antoine de Saint Exupéry's book Night Flight, which described the sensations of flying a small aircraft in great detail” I know that there are a bazillion add-ons and that some just enjoyed the feeling of flight, etc. That’s fine and each to their own, but being a “PC Pilot” Mag subscriber there are constant letters beginning with “so what do I actually DO?” with regards to MS Flight simulator. This flagrant in-audience-assumption-attitude just doesn’t work in today’s gaming software market and an audience which generally has; · Less time to spare · More distractions · Lower attention span (because of the above) · No availability of proper printer manuals. (FSX didnt even have proper pdf manuals for crying out loud. How elitist is that? Can you imagine ED releasing A-10 with no manual?) The devs just didn’t take these points seriously enough and relied on the theory that “those who bought it before already know what to do”. That theory may hold true for a company selling fishing rods or cars, or even small indie devs, but not software from a publisher with global marketing. There are of course limits to what can be achieved in a civilian sim, but surely they could have had a career mode, etc. hopefully with q total re-boot of the franchise they may achieve this and I am sure they won’t want to alienate the existing FSX audience. Just look at the Silent Hunter debacle for an example of a franchise that should be moved to pastures new, (or publishers new).

  45. Ребята у меня было мерцание вертикальных полос на горизонте. Я установил мод от ЧА NoCloudShadows.zip с сайтаhttp http://www.checksix-fr.com/bibliotheque/index.php?page=detail&ID=5888. Мерцание прекратилось, стало все отлично! Совместимость этого мода от ЧА с ГС 2 (1.2.1) полная. Рекомендую! На всякий случай сохранил резервную копию папки \Bazar\Terrain\Surface.
