Page 291 in the manual is what you are looking for. There have been some additions to the procedure since that vid I guess. "In addition to using DSMS Inventory to create virtual Training payloads, the other two most common uses for these pages are to clear hung station errors and setting the burst height for cluster bombs. Clear Hung Station. This is a common error when the pilot does not hold down the weapon release button long enough when dropping a bomb. This warning and ability to use the weapon is resolved by reloading the hung station. This is done by: 1. Press DSMS INV (OSB 5) 2. Press the OSB (1 - 11) that corresponds to the hung station. 3. Press the OSB that corresponds to the store class of the hung weapon. 4. Press the OSB that corresponds to the type of hung weapon. 5. On the store page, press LOAD (OSB 9) to reload the station. 6. Press STAT (OSB 1) to return to the main DSMS page. Note: After clearing a hung IAM loaded store, you will then need to reset the power to the station in the STAT page and then reload ALL from the DTS page to make the weapon functional again"2 points

Разработчики признают, что ФМ самолета не совершенна и ФМ ракеты тоже. При таких явных допущениях о каком реализме вы говорите. Народ собирается в ЛО поколбасится и отвести душу, а не победить Грузию или Штаты. Поэтому подход что "АИМ-120 самая совершенная в мире" давайте ей накутим БЧ, углы обзора и т.п. заведо неверные. Это игра, а значит ей нужен игровой баланс. Когда такой баланс начинают смещать в чью либо сторону - заканчивается это всегда плачевно. Либо народ программно обходит ограничения (читерят одним словом), либо хоронит игру. Или как вариант, основная масса берет самую убийственную модель, на заведо худших остаются только фанаты... И не надо тут про пуски 6-8 ракет рассуждать. Даже амеры не настолько богаты чтобы веером пускать столько ракет по одной цели.2 points

First of all, I understand entirely the "moderator/user" relationship, and hope this debate does not end up in some form of banning or censorship. I believe that at the moment this is merely a disagreement as opposed to a contractual infringement though if I'm wrong please let me know. That said, patronising winks at the end of posts are not really required, or do you disagree? I am unsure of whether or not you interpreted my post correctly. I was explaining why it's easy to feel a particular way and tried to explain the mentality behind it, as opposed to defending my own position. I am feeling that you've misinterpreted an explanatory thread. Also, I think I explained quite adequately that whilst I am aware of EULA, it often conflicts with the more emotive aspects of a purchase. Again, I did not defend myself, instead merely attempted to go some way toward explaining my feelings. I would suggest that, all respect intended, you read my posts more carefully - I think a closer read would yield a greater understanding of my intentions. My post was not (I believe) antagonistic. I try (both on forums and in life) to explain my views with fair respect to all involved. As for the "respect is earned" comment, we deserve respect for two reasons. Firstly, because the majority of us are of above average intelligence, which I believe is something the subject matter implies. Secondly, we are the final few who have not migrated to Call of Duty and World of Warcraft, and so produce another stream of revenue for ED. This, I believe, means we should be given respect. I also believe this entire discussion really does boil down to one point: "Do ED give good customer service?" I think there is only one answer... "What customer service?" Of course, if you want to disagree and argue that they would give good customer service if they weren't fixing bugs, I would ask, why are they so busy fixing bugs upon final release? I will admit that I made a mistake regarding activations and should've read more closely, yet I also maintain that ED are a farce with regards to customer service and showing care for their client base. All we have to do is look at other specialist hobby business' (RCSIMS, firstlightoptics etc), to see that customer service and showing you care for your client base can help you survive and thrive in a highly competitive market. ED are not in a highly competitive market, and as such they couldn't care less about appeasing their civilian market. When I have had issues with Rise of Flight, I've had developer responses within 24 hours; this I would presume is because they don't have an alternative market which brings in extra revenue, i.e their military contracts. Defend your point that I was a fool with regards to activations, and I'll freely admit I was. But please don't blindly defend their business model on the civilian side of things. They're a great company in some ways, no doubt. They provide us with beautiful simulations with depth beyond compare, however it is extremely rare to find somebody on these forums that will legitimately critique EDs shortcomings. This is a shame, I believe, because without productive criticism how can we expect improvement?2 points

Some people have asked for it, here's a mod that hides the control stick and throttles in the cockpit. They toggle on/off using the unused NVS LTS switch on the AUX LTG panel. I've made a few simple training missions for myself and I thought I would share them with anyone that might be interested. There's been a lot on http://www.infowars.com covered regarding the construction of the plant and how for 40 years used rods were stored above the reactors instead of being disposed somewhere deep inside Earth. Я думаю, как ганзист, ты знаешь, что есть разные ситуации боя, как этот бой выглядит на самом деле, а не в теории. В "карусели" как правило входят тогда, когда энергии на другие маневры не хватает, это последняя фаза боя. Тут думаешь, как нормальную скорость для виража набрать, об уходе на вертикаль и речи нет. Если самолёт вместо того чтобы уйти в вираж, начнёт разгоняться до скорости 800-1000км/ч, ему в хвост выйдет противник. Ну а разница в вертикалях между Су и Ф не значительная, чтобы от неё зависел исход боя, зависит на 90% от мастерства пилотов. Вобщем смысл в том, что если Су и Фе будут драться на вертикалях, шансы у них равны и зависят от пилотов, а если на горизонталях, то скорее 1/3 в пользу Су (ИМХО). Ну мы это проверим;) А в ближнем бою с использованием ракет вертикальные маневры вообще не очень уместны, более выгодно для ухода от ракет вести бой на горизонтали. САУ проверим. Насчёт треков - я думаю, визуализация срыва потока с крыльев, которая показывается на перегрузках более 6Ж, однозначно должна свидетельствовать о превышении игроком 6Ж, также, как и визуализация форсажа свидетествует о работе двигателей игрока на форсаже. Чтобы в этом окончательно убедиться, задал вопрос в этой ветке (ау, ЕД, ответьте пожалуйста на этот вопрос!:))1 point

That looks fantastic. The scheme is exactly the same as the ground attack aircraft here sport. Jordan was supposed to get two squadron's worth of used US A-10s in the late seventies, but Israel objected (this was before the peace treaty). If you ever get a free minute and feel like making an RJAF skin for aircraft No. 222, below are the markings. I'd do it myself except I have no knowledge or skills in this area. Андрей (извиняюсь, отчества не знаю), если вы спрашиваете "что мы не так сделали", вы, повысив эффективность ракет средней дальности сделали так что БВБ (в онлайне) стал возможен по сути только межу русскими крафтами или только для супер проффи типа Зерола. У среднестатистического пилота шанс вступить в БВБ против Эфки практически равен нулю. И понять Вас можно этим Вы пытаетесь расширить количество пользователей игры. Одно дело изучать методы ведения БВБ, знать характеристики своего самолета и противника, где ты его можешь "обуть" на вертикаль ли на горизонталях, как на это влияет кол-во топлива, отработать такие элементарные приемы как разворот, горка, на каких скоростях именно для Вашего самолета желательно их проводить, натренироваться в оффлайне...... в общем гемор.... Другое дело взлетел, нашел, пустил, сбил, вернулся. Или даже еще проще - взлетел, пустил-пустил-пустил, сел прочитал отчет скока там твои ракеты сами насбивали. Может я ошибаюсь, но лично у меня впечатление именно такое.1 point

Guys, don't diss it just like that thinking everyone is now overreacting... just think how would you feel/act if nuclear plant in Germany had this sort of problem and keep in mind... everything is possible given circumstance. I like the idea that they want to at least temporary shut down older reactors and assess their safety and if needed they can make decision... thinking nothing will happen is really pretty naive as well as that's what most people think (all accidents etc happen to others, that can't happen to me) until/if that happens to them. I am not saying nuclear power is not good at all... but there are consequences and downsides and shit does happen. About the radiation reaching the US.. well that's possible too depending on the weather... naturally part of all the particles released will end up in air, then with rain wil go into water... it will reach the ground... but will spread... some particles going over the sea will be taken by the sea life and some will end up in human food chain... such is nature of things. But we can't forget that radiation is a natural thing anyway... why people think people get cancers when biologists and nuclear medicine knows radioactive materials attack human tissue and DNA and destroy it... and modify it... so if you have one particle it will do it's thing and nothing you can do about it... people do get sick and people HAVE TO die anyway so really every one's chance of dying one way or another is always 100%. The thing I am shaking my head about is when I hear they designed the nuclear plant to withstand 8.2 or 8.3 strong earthquake... just why don't people design them to take the most extreme earthquake and have some buffer because let's face it... the moment when management thing start thinking cost it's about to get ugly sooner or later... again it's human nature. Let me add also... about the Chernobyl... who's to say that some people who dies from cancer did not get it from this radiation? The thing is you can't prove it but I can believe that particles that came from that plant must have eventually ended up in humans and animals... even if radiation gets carried in the clouds and lands somewhere plants grow on that land... animals eat them and so on... get the drift?1 point

Wow, Crunch. This is exactly the same reason why I have found BF 2142 the best of all BF games! I haven't found BF2 interesting to me at all. However I had quite a lot of fun with BFBC2. Now I am getting CRYSIS2 instead of another "modern military shooter", because I am sick of theme. I will take a look at BF3 once it is beta or demo around end of 2011. If BF 2143 was made on such engine... oh man ^^1 point

I'm trying to understand why the harsh attitude towards the review. I find it odd that someone so willing to speak or comment of others opinions declines to support his own. I would say that the facts were stated quite well, the sim in it's current state was represented for what it was and the review was quite fine and not premature nor in poor taste. I find it kind of funny that you choked on your scotch over a comment in the review that has been in the FAQ since release. Almost word for word I might add. I also have to say that since A-10C has no dynamic campaign or any kind of campaign system than missions strung together in a series Falcon 4 actually does surpass it in regard to that. I also wouldn't call that an opinion but more of a fact. Considering that was one of the only places Falcon 4 was brought up that I saw. I'm sorry but you can't just post criticism about a review that someone put work into and then play the im above and beyond that game. Not gonna fly especially with such flimsy justifications for said opinions that you gave.1 point

Those were basic FLIR images, default so to speak. There is no problem to tune it while sparking up the plane. It's not perfect, but close enough. There are lots of things in Arma2 OA, which looks good, A10 cockpit thou isn't one of them.1 point

For me FLIR just need some fine-tunning. At 1:30 on that video you can see the trees, but only the trees outline, there's no 'texture' in them. On DCS the trees texture is very visible and sharp, it could look more like in the video by simply being blurred or of lower resolution. Another thing is making all trees of the same light levels, on this screenshot some are white others black.1 point

Actually it is. Heat = IR. :thumbup: Regardless, not sure what some of you expect. Modeling an accurate FLIR system would be pretty difficult. I think they are just using a separate texture set. IRL it depends on the system and level of technology. When I used the thermal site on the TOW system, it was at times very difficult to spot a vehicle in the trees. Trees can hold a lot of heat.1 point

Вот тут могу поспорить. Цель та - колона на марше. Эффективная дальность применения НАР составляет от 2-х до 1-й тысячи метров. Отворот от цели на этих дальностях, вывешивает вертолёт на малых угловых скоростях относительно возможных стрелков - лёгкая мишень. А проход над колонной происходит с большой угловой скоростью, что затрудняет как отработку баллистических вычислителей, так и решение задачи прицеливания тому же пехотинцу. Другое дело допустим ротный опорный пункт. Там чем дальше входишь в глубину обороны, тем больше плотность возможного зенитного огня. Поэтому учебник тактики рекомендует после стрельбы отворачивать на 90 гр со снижением, с дальнейшим уходом в сторону своей территории. Вот тут со мной спорить бессмысленно. Я ведь действующий инструктор. И как разговаривать с курсантом, меня учили очень долго и очень дотошно. Да если вы сами хоть раз увидите, как курсант, в полёте, впадает в ступор, после того как на него рыкнешь, то непременно будете разговаривать с ним ласково и нежно. Конечно, психические свойства личности у каждого индивидуальны, но я в формировании интонации исходил именно из общих тенденций восприятия среднего курсанта.1 point

Welcome to the forums dnme. The one bit of advice I would give to a beginner to the world of high fidelity simulations is, to be patient. As DCS A-10C is very close to what real A-10 pilots train on, remember it takes dedicated professional pilots some time to master all the systems etc. You should know that it will not come overnight or give you that instant gratification that a lesser game might, but believe me it is worth it. Think of it as your investing time in a Sim that you will be able to enjoy and build on for years to come. So take it one step at a time, and utilize the resources here. Remember to always search the forums for the thing you need answers about, chances are very high that someone else has asked the same question. Once you get the hang of things, try to help others out who are not as far advanced as yourself. Lastly, if you want to see more Flight Sim's like DCS A-10C, then by all means tell your friends and introduce them to your new addiction. The more people that join our community, the better it is for all of us.1 point
