I know that the replay system always was a bit glitchy, but since 2.7, 100% of my replays are useless. All replays I recorded with 2.5 now show something completely different. I´d understand if the weather in those missions would do weird stuff. But in one replay, my aircraft didn´t even take off. It taxied in a weird 90° angle to the runway and speeded off into some building and exploded. Or in a recent mission I recorded with 2.7 I did 4 Maverick attacks against enemy tanks and some other stuff. After that, I got one engine shot and limped back to base and barely managed to land. When I watched the replay, my plane was shot down after the 2nd maverick and crashed. Just now I played a mission in the Huey where I took off from a FARP, flew north into a city, picked up some infantry, landed back at the FARP, took off again toward the city, engaged some enemy infantry and flew back again. In the replay, the Huey didn´t land on the FARP, but 100 meters off to the side, and just took off to the west instead of heading back north to the city. This is really a bit annoying, as I am still learning and like to look at my replays to see what I did wrong. But this is really pointless if the replay just shows some random stuff happening.

Uh, not sure if I understand what you are trying to say... Yes, I use DCS, but what "half modeled A-10" are you talking about ? Do I get this right ? You suggest that ED should put in some system that the Navy and the Marines are testing on some other aircraft into the A-10 ? Why ? Do you think they should put Phoenix Missiles on the A-10 as well ? I mean, the Navy is using them on another aircraft...
-
Doch, Du kannst bestehende Module weiter in Steam verwenden.
-
But you posted this in the A-10 C II wishlist subforum. So unless what you talk about is used in the actual A-10 C II, the answer should simply be: NO.
-
Yes, I have the same effect when I lose track of time and it turns dark in the outside world I assume it´s because the camera of the G2 loses tracking but it still picks up the movement of your head from the gyro sensors.
-
I think nobody here has doubts that such a system would have this capability. But unless you can provide a source showing it is actually used in the A-10 Scorpion, it should not be incorporated into the module. And "The Navy and Marines are testing it" is not really proof of that. Considering neither Marines nor Navy fly the A-10...
-
This might sound stupid, but have you turned on the light in your room ? The G2 cameras loose tracking in a dark room and I think it only picks up the movement of the gyro which causes this effect.

Help needed for setting up the Warthog Throttle for Huey
Eugel replied to Eugel's topic in DCS: UH-1H
hm, haven´t messed yet with any lua files. But I´ll try that, thanks @Goffik Oh awesome, didn´t know there´s also a Chucks Guide for the Huey, I´ll study that next then... -
You could also check for a Microsoft Direct X update. DirectX should be downward compatible, but I´ve seen very old games installing older versions of DX over newer ones. Maybe some DX part was overwritten and that´s causing some problems, or it´s causing DCS to run on DX9 as well...
-
Not necessarily. Let´s say your computer does only 30 fps. If you move your head only 5 degrees to the right, it will show you 6 frames for every degree of movement and it might look perfectly fine and smooth, but if you move your head real fast 90 degrees to the right, you will now only see one frame for every 3 degrees of movement, which can look choppy. It´s easy to check, fly low to the ground in a fast moving aircraft and hold your head steady to the right, if there is still stutter/ghosting, it´s not the tracking, but low framerate. And the effect on the monitor is different, 40 fps on a 2D monitor might look ok, but in VR it´s terrible (without motion smoothing) The rule of thumb is you want steady 90 fps in VR, whether it´s native 90 fps or 45 with interpolation. 40 FPS, even with motion smoothing will create some ghosting for me in the G2 in fast moving scenes.
-
Isn´t that simply when the computer can´t provide enough fps ? I get this all the time when I drop below 45 fps (in the Reverb G2 with motion smoothing enabled) but I also had the same effect with the Vive and Vive Pro when my framerate is below a certain threshold. It´s just when you move your head or while looking to the side in a fast moving aircraft, you notice it more. Not sure if that´s the problem here. @ddwg72 what do you mean by "in/out of focus" ? Have you tried pressing alt+enter to enable full screen ?

Hi. I´m still quite new to the Huey. Can someone give me some tips how to set up the Warthog throttle for use with the Huey ? I use the left throttle as actual throttle and the right throttle as collective, which works quite well for me. But I´m totally lost on how to set up the other switches. Like which ones are useful ? What is used frequently during flight ? I wanted to use the upper override switches for use as "force trim" on/off and "hydraulics control" on/off and the APU switch for the fuel pump. But they only work when pushed up. It seems like the Huey doesn´t see them as a 2-way switch. Is this something that can only be changed via TARGET software ? I only flew the A-10 before and everything there works out of the box, so I never even installed TARGET... I play exlusively in VR, so I want to put as much as possible on the HOTAS... Any tips are welcome

Yeah, I recently bought the Syria map and was quite disappointed by those water effects as well. From directly above, the rivers really look more like dirt roads and even large lakes look like they are just knee-deep.

HP Reverb G2 - How to eliminate ghosting?
Eugel replied to InfinityWingman's topic in Virtual Reality
I can recommend using FPSVR. I am using a 1080Ti and G2 as well, and I also had it set up nicely to get a smooth ride. But 2.7 somehow messed up my VR settings. With 2.5 I got 45 FPS most of the time, but with 2.7 and the same settings, it didn´t feel like it. So I fired up FPS VR and saw that I was down to 35 FPS even on an empty runway. What I did was then to load the "LOW" settings in DCS to rule out any windows process or something else interfering with the game. With low settings, I flew around on the Syria map a bit and monitored FPSVR. It never dropped below 45. So from there I started cranking up all individual settings and repeated the process, making sure it never drops below the "magic" 45. I have to add, I set the resolution in Steam VR to 50%, still looks very good and is close to the G2 native display resolution. Also motion smoothing is a must. I haven´t even tried to aim for 90 fps. What I found so far: The 1080Ti has lots of video RAM, use it ! You can set the textures to "high" without any impact. If you want, I can post my DCS settings later... -
Also in welchem Dateiformat ?
-
Have you checked the resolution settings ? I don´t own a G1, but I´ve read that the steam render resolution with the G1 at 100% is at 2208x2160 per eye, while the G2 defaults to 3160x3096 per eye at 100%. That´s 9.5 million pixels vs. 19.5 million pixels, so half the framerate sounds about right.

I guess, I´ll have to buy some more modules, for me the update was only 8.7 GB
-
I just got these to use with the A-10C module. They work perfectly fine with DCS, I just plugged them in and DCS recognized them. Didn´t have to configure anything, all buttons worked in the A-10 cockpit instantly (but I have to add I already had the thrustmaster drivers package installed). I can only assume it will be the same for the F-16.

Will HP Reverb G2 run smoothly on a 2070o8G GPU?
Eugel replied to RglsPhoto's topic in Virtual Reality
I have a similar system (same CPU and RAM) but a bit more VRam on my 1080ti (not sure how much of a difference that makes) With motion smoothing enabled, I get a very stable and smooth experience at medium settings, it doesn´t drop below 45 fps. Though I have to lower the resolution in Steam VR quite a bit (to around 60%) -
Well, here´s my 2 cents... Since I bought my first 144 Hz screen, I can´t go back to 60 Hz, but thankfully, 144+ Hz is more and more becoming standard and therefore cheaper. With 27" or more, I would also suggest at least 1440 p resolution. With a GTX1080Ti myself, I chose a 1440p 27" monitor as I thought 4K would be a bit too much to handle smoothly in most games. (not sure how the 1660Ti compares to that). But 1440p for me is the sweetspot between performance and quality. But with 27" or more I would not take a 1080p resolution. Also, personally, for me G-Sync was a real gamechanger, but I can´t comment how it compares to Free-Sync or other technologies. And G-Sync alone will add 100 bucks to the price ... Oh, and stay away from TN Panels, if anyone still dares to sell these ! What´s your budget ?

I found myself recently with a broken Warthog Throttle. I considered getting a Virpil as well, so I contacted their support. They told me that they produce them according to a preorder queue and it would usually take about 4-6 weeks. As this took a bit too long for me, I ordered a new Warthog Throttle from the Thrustmaster shop and got one within two days. Not sure about "hideously overpriced", they sell it for the regular price, don´t they ?

Not sure if that is already standard, but at least some Asus mainboards have integrated heatsinks for the m.2 ports.
