Ich finde auch dass es ganz interessant klingt. Wie "ernst" würdet Ihr es denn besonders mit dem Funkverkehr nehmen ? Das ist so ein Gebiet mit dem ich mich noch gar nicht befasst habe. Zum Einen weil ich mir diese ganzen Brevity Codes nicht merken kann, und zum Anderen weil ich mir einfach blöd vorkomme, in "Denglisch" da irgendwelche Meldungen zu machen. Außerdem habe ich meinen Wehrdienst lange hinter mir und habe ehrlich gesagt keine große Lust im Hobby nochmal lernen zu müssen wie man "korrekt" Meldung macht. Ich weiß, dass es teils zu einer MilSim dazu gehört, aber ich habe halt auch keine Lust dass man den Kopf abgerissen bekommt wenn man im Funk mal etwas sagt wie "Gegnerische Panzer da unten am See !" Klar soll nicht jeder durcheinander quatschen, aber ich möchte da auch kein Rollenspiel draus machen... Ich selbst würde mich als einigermaßen fähig am Stick der A-10C bezeichnen, was ich da noch lernen müsste, wären eben Sachen wie Datalink oder eben alles was mit Multiplayer zu tun hat. Huey und F-16 befinden sich außerdem auch noch bei mir im Hangar. Startup muss man mir da aber auch nicht mehr erklären und ich bekomme beide auch gestartet und (meistens) gelandet. (F-16 ist aber noch sehr frisch, mehr als Starten und Landen habe ich da noch nicht gemacht). Whatsapp habe ich allerdings auch nicht.

Sorry, I don´t understand. I did just what you describe: I went from 100% and adjusted until I got to a steady 45 FPS, which is at 50% Steam VR resolution ... Besides, that´s not the point. The point is that I get twice the FPS on maps like Caucasus, Persian Gulf and even Syria with the same settings. And from what I´ve read, I´m not the only one.

Just did a run with FPSVR enabled. F-16, Instant Action, Free Flight over the main island. FPS is around 22-26. These are my settings (I run 50% Steam VR resolution, so pretty much the G2´s native resolution): The same settings without VR results in very smooth 70 FPS (but it looks terrible without MSAA on the monitor): My system: Ryzen 7 5800X, 32 GB Ram, GTX1080 Ti It´s hard to critizice a free map, but for now, all I can do here is running benchmarks.

well there was some experimental setting included in WMR recently where it would produce 2 images with motion reprojection instead of only one. That would set the FPS to 30 while running 90 Hz. Not sure if that is supported in DCS or steam VR - it works in Microsoft Flight Simulator

Yeah, I literally spent weeks optimising my VR settings so I can get mostly stable 45 FPS on all maps, even Syria. But Marianas feels more like 20 FPS. I haven´t tried it yet with FPSVR enabled, but as long as there is some island visible, it´s unplayable for me.

Heißt das jetzt Cortana entfällt (endlich) oder heißt das nur die Einrichtung und die Anzeige in der Taskleiste entfällt und das Ding ist im Hintergrund immer aktiv, ob man will oder nicht ? Da steht ja nicht "Cortana entfällt" Und schön dass man sich dann nicht mehr die Taskleiste hinsetzen darf wo man möchte...

Yeah, same here, and my system is weaker with a 1080 Ti. Marianas Map cuts my FPS in half compared even to Syria, which unfortunately makes in unplayable in VR (unless I stay clear of all the islands...) Well, it´s free and they´ll probably work on that...

Steam always has a fixed time to update its store. Where I live, it´s always at 7 pm. After that I just had to refresh and it appeared under "DLC"

Ich denke, Windows 10 wäre bei weitem nicht so ein großer Erfolg gewesen, wenn Microsoft das nicht lange Zeit als kostenloses Update verteilt hat. Da jetzt auf ein Abo-Modell umzuschwenken, würde (hoffe ich) bei den Usern zu wenig Akzeptanz führen. Für mich wäre aber auch schon KO Kriterium wenn Windows 11 nicht mehr offline funktionieren würde und man sich bei Systemstart irgendwo einloggen müsste.

Also ich würde ja mal behaupten dass für einen Großteil dieser "99%" der Segen von Stabilität und Funktionalität bereits mit Windows 7 kam und die wenigsten überhaupt bemerkt hätten dass es ein neues Windows ist wenn man es ihnen nicht gesagt hätte. Der Trend geht halt leider immer mehr in Richtung Bevormundung, Enteignung und Cloud-Anbindung. Und ich würde einfach mal erwarten dass auch in Windows 11 einen weiteren Schritt in diese Richtung tun wird. Und ich finde, sowas darf man zurecht auch kritisieren.

Also mitbekommen habe ich es zwar, aber bevor das wirklich erschienen ist, sehe ich keinen Grund mir da groß Gedanken drüber zu machen. Ich werde da auf jeden Fall zumindest erste Tests abwarten bevor ich auch nur überlege es zu kaufen. Aber ich bin da auch eher mal skeptisch, Windows 10 hat in meinen Augen auch erstmal nichts besser gemacht als Windows 7, aber einiges schlechter. Ähnliches würde ich bei einem Windows 11 auch erwarten.

I love the F-16 cockpit in VR, but I feel like, compared to the A-10, the MFDs are a bit hard to read (though they are fine in darkness), and they also seem quite small to me. Other than that, everything is fine to read and the bubble canopy is amazing in VR. I just started to learn the aircraft, but I´ve read that there are quite some functions that are not mapped to the HOTAS, so you probably will have to do some clicking...

I had the F-16 on my wishlist for months and everytime it was on sale I told myself "Learn the A-10 and the Huey better before buying a new toy" But on the last sale I said "OK, next sale I will buy it". That sale came pretty quick and I got the F-16 on Friday. Yes, it´s not complete and you will notice. Several pages on the MFD for example just say "placeholder" which might kill the immersion a bit. And while some functiuns are missing, there are plenty already in. And they are working on it, there are regular updates on the F-16 with every patch. But, as others have said, it is so much fun to fly. I have only flown the A-10 and now flying the F-16 is like discovering that your car has more than the first gear ! I still have not managed to remove the smile off my face from my first flight on Friday. I´d say it depends a bit on what other aircraft you already have, so for me (A-10 and Huey) it´s the perfect addition. If you are interested in the F-16 you might as well just buy it on sale now, have fun flying and watch it grow. It won´t be cheaper in 6 months...

I also have the TFRPs and they work fine with the F-16. Make sure you bind them unter "axis command" - wheel brake left" and "wheel brake right" There is also a key binding called "wheel brake left ON/OFF"/"wheel brake right ON/OFF" - this will NOT work with the toe brakes on the TFRP. And I had to invert the axis as well.

I use the graphic preset buttons to quickly switch between my desktop and VR settings, although it would be nice if we could rename them. Only very few settings actually require you to restart the game.

I have no logical reasoning for this, but somehow I never liked the Hornet. Maybe it´s because the Hornet didn´t have an action movie during my childhood ? So it´s definitely Team Viper for me

I actually find it more comfortable to wear headphones (a Steelseries Arctis 7 in my case) under the G2. It is a tight fit, yes, but not really claustrophobia inducing. And I always imagine that wearing an actual fighter helmet, is probably similar. But otherwise you won´t get "good" audio out of those little speakers.

Hm, I´ve seen other videos with the compass going crazy when the gun fires, so it might be realistic. If it is, I think this would be a nice little detail in DCS.

I have Syria, Persian Gulf, A-10 C II and Huey, and my folder size is exactly 179 GB as well. So it seems correct to me.

The G2 does not work with HDMI, you need the USB Port AND display port connectors. The adapter is only for USB-C to "regular" USB.

In my opinion, the best advertisement they can make, is to just offer a good map. And for me, those billboards do the exact opposite. They kill the immersion and the amount of them is simply stupid. That is a reason for me to not buy any map from them again. Why would I buy the Normandy map if I would risk watching at "Syria" billboards all over France ? Yes, remove them completely, an ad during the loading screen would be acceptable, but everything else is just annoying.

Hm, for me I think it´s somewhere between "essential" and "nice to have" It would not keep me from buying a module I´m interested in if there is no pilot body, but I really like to see the body in VR for increased immersion. The A-10 always feels a bit weird without one...

Isn´t that a necessity anyway as Display port 1.4 does not support the full resolution at 120 Hz ?
