  1. Going to try SteamVR now just to check the results my end. SVR same issue...
  2. DCS uses redis for memory DB? Good to know. C++ redistributable, not redis cache
  3. Is everyone who has the issue with lost fps using OpenComposite? Have you tried using Steamvr and losing OpenComposite just to test? I'm away from my machine at the moment but as the issue doesn't seem to affect everyone perhaps OC issues a factor?
  4. I am, as per OP 86fps is now 60fps....
  5. The feedback seems mixed, I however took a huge CPUFT and GPUFT hit. To rollback (assuming you want the latest OB before 2.8) Go into your DCS world bin folder and run: YOURDRIVEHERE:\DCS World\bin>dcs_updater update 2.7.18.30765@openbeta
  6. So, some more testing this morning. Shadows to Flat, OFF or Default make zero difference to me. I’ve gone from 86FPS when looking straight out through the HUD in Hornet ready on the ramp Caucasus to 60 ish. No MODS other than Open composite and OXRTK. No other in game settings changed. And it is ALL CPU frametime. My CPU FT pre 2.8 in the same scenario was 9, it's now 16. Something is very, very wrong. Specs are in my sig. I posted this in the patch notes discussion thread too, just leaving it here for info. Just rolling back to 2.7 to make sure I’m not losing my mind And all back to normal....

  8. Thanks @Taz1004 it's appreciated. If albedo doesn't work any more then we still have the ability for simple canopy, I guess. But I agree, perhaps it's time to put it out to pasture.
  9. I can't concur with that...sorry -20 average
  10. Yup...shadows are odd. There's another thread confirming the same but am away at the minute.
  11. OK, so first impressions. All same settings, F18 ready on the ramp had to lose the Taz kegetys mod as it caused compile errors (to be expected after such a major upgrade) 20 FPS less...pants frankly. And I'm also assuming the weather/clouds haven't change on that instant action mission. So where's it gone? Varjo Aero, 4090 blah blah.... Seriously, can we just get one or two peeps in ED to test this stuff in VR, it's getting a little tired now?! I'm happy to volunteer on that front Good point, not checked...but it's a 20FPS deficit here..will spend more time tomorrow. Not sure that the instant action missions have the new clouds/weather? I saw no graphical difference tbh. Shadows are a different conversation.
  12. OK, so this a very simple but measurable comparison. Previously post 2.8 86 FPS in Hornet ready on the ramp, admittedly using @Taz1004 modified Kegetys shader mod. Post 2.8 with no shader mod (causing compile errors in 2.8) 61 FPS, not great tbh.... So unless there's a logical explanation of why, then it's a rollback for me personally. I'm assuming there's no moving clouds in the quick start mission, it's the same mission as was in latest 2.7 OB and Kegetys never gave me 20FPS
  13. Just about to try 2.8...so some mods obviously don't work any more. In terms of the FPS drop, do we have a standard we can use. My usual is Hornet ready on the ramp, Caucasus. I;ve looked at pancake mode and obviously seen the wacky shadows issue already
  14. Yup was going to ask this, saw the same behavior.
  15. Not surprisingly, this @Taz1004 version is broken in 2.8
  16. Does it not work with 2.8?
  17. Quite.....We complain that we don't get given a timescale, then we moan when it's not met. Perhaps silence is the best way, mostly.
  18. As @speed-of-heat stated, no real benefit from 12th to 13th gen, the bottleneck is still there and will only be addressed by optimisations of the core DCS engine unfortunately....
  19. Hopefully you'll have the fix in your inbox soon
  20. It appears that they are accepting 4090 owners onto the beta program again specifically with a view to providing the fixed VB version, this was as of about an hour ago...
  21. They've opened the Beta program to more 4090 owners, so head over to the Discord, DM Arch and return the supplied NDA, and you'll get the fixed beta of VB. No more stutters https://discord.com/channels/839478779256897546/852037353035005964/1034087442023723098
  22. Unsure of details tbh. But it has fixed the problem [emoji1303]
