  1. I think it's possible, I did a similar thing for mods in my Saved Ganes folder. Just point and shoot [emoji16]
  2. Makes sense it helped given your VRAM
  3. Not to pee on the BBQ, but did we not determine that this VRdirectx profile was for an old game (Virtua Rally) that used the red/green glasses 3d approach? I saw zero difference when I tried it about 2 years ago.
  4. That's good news, how much VRAM does your GFX card have?
  5. In the same directory from where you run the PS script.
  6. In this first post: Posted Monday at 08:41 PM (edited) I've made a simple powershell script to automate the process of making a "Optimized Textures" mod like you can see in this topic: Requirements: Script: https://gist.github.com/zbysiek/8df79276f659674b3926a0a757050f2f TexConv: https://github.com/microsoft/DirectXTex/releases Powershell 7.4: https://learn.microsoft.com/powershell/scripting/install/installing-powershell-on-windows?view=powershell-7.4#installing-the-msi-package Usage instructions: 0. Delete _backup and _downloads folder in your main DCS Install to avoid compressing unnecessary files 1. Open powershell as admin, type Set-ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted 2. Close the powershell window (we don't want to execute the script as admin, just in case, DO NOT EXECUTE THE SCRIPT AS ADMIN) 3. Open Powershell 7 in the same folder by right clicking > Powershell 7 > Open Here (DO NOT OPEN AS ADMIN) 4. Select your main DCS folder 5. Wait for it to finish 6. Open powershell as admin, type Set-ExecutionPolicy Restricted
  7. New version of the script appears to bomb out and only creates a MOD folder with around 18GB of content. Most odd, also only takes about 10 minutes to run where previously was around 45 minutes and around 56GB. Is there anyway of enabling some kind of debug log? Scratch that, looks to be a disk space issue.
  8. Looks great, looking forward to trying it out. New Harrier content has been sorely missed! And a multiplayer/coop version would be ace.
  9. I have to be honest I do very little A2A mainly because I can't see a damn thing [emoji23] Varjo Aero and Varjo Foveated.
  10. Seems to work great here, don't have any quantitative figures in terms of performance, but the total size is around 6GB in comparison to 20GB for the stock texture sets
  11. This is a great idea
  12. Thanks, that's interesting, as one or two YT tutorials explicitly show the reticle being depressed to 63 mils with TGT Find selected. Was this restriction perhaps not implemented at initial release, as these vids are a couple of months old now? I have had the same behaviour in direct too when using MAVS (again intermittent). I'll be sure to grab a screenshot next time. OK, scratch that...they set to 63 mils and the reticle doesn't move! Let me see if I can get it to happen in Direct mode again, it could well be "user error" on my part.
  13. Hi, I'm having an odd issue in as much as when in AG mode I cannot depress the reticle. The counter changes but the reticle just stays in the same place. This doesn't happen every time. Using latest DCS build.
  14. I'd never seen this message until the last patch....
  15. Thanks for clarifying, will try in the next day or so.
  16. Many thanks for the response. I understand, I guess the question is when you say “I'm using the standard installation of reshade, without any options for VR" Does this mean you are NOT selecting the OpenXR option in addition to DX11 when installing Reshade via the installer? Also, I had assumed that in order for your MOD to work then Reshade functioning correctly in VR would be a prerequisute, it sounds like the method you are using does not require this to be true?
  17. Hi, I notice that you too use an Aero. I and some others @speed-of-heat have had zero luck getting Reshade to work in VR with the Aero. The effect can be seen in the 2D mirror, but it has zero effect on the image in the HMD. Did you have to perform any special installation steps in order to get it to work with Varjo Base and the Aero. I am using Varjo Foveated and Varjo Base 3.10.3.25. Based on the fact you mention using the native Varjo foveated rendering, I am assuming you are using the latest version of Varjo Base?
  18. I was prompted to reboot. It was not automatically initiated by the installer.
  19. I had the same reboot required message. I'm assuming there was a component (.NET framework perhaps) that was also updated.
  20. Thanks for the update, will have a root around [emoji1303]
  21. Tried disabling the Varjo Foveated layer and having only the Reshade OXR layer enabled, and i'st still no different.
  22. Nice find, but that is odd. So it seems this whole behaviour may be Varjo Base related?
  23. Even with the menu visible in the 2D mirror I only ever see one sync option, the effect is applied to the 2D mirror but not to the HMD output. I've only ever run OpenXR with the Aero. If you do get your friend with the Aero sorted us other Aero users would be most appreciative if you could share the process
  24. Fantastic, looking forward to the campaign!
  25. It was a clean install, haven't used it for years. I'll give it a go tommorow.
