Mi-24 NAV & Targeting system capabilities
SnuggleFairy replied to Bananabrai's topic in DCS: Mi-24P Hind
yeah, anything that can calculate the latitude. I bet different countries use different systems. That light basically means "don't touch the latitude adjustment knob" lol -

Possibly. Yeah i couldn't figure out any way to move the HSI in the ZK mode.. maybe only adjustable by ground crew? Need an expert who can tell us how things actually work I found this: https://rykovodstvo.ru/exspl/20494/index.html?page=5 It says Auto light comes on when the latitude is determined and fed from a GPS i guess. "Fail" light comes on with gyro failure. They didn't explain what TV light is. Also the previous page on that document explains how to operate the deviation compensator and it sounds like you just put it into ZK and set the mag var and it should align the HSI... then it can me switched into its main operating mode GPK -

Not according to my tests. No matter what you put there, in Gyro mode the Diss-15 holds 0 deviation when flying indicated(desired) magnetic heading, until after about 60kms the HSI deviates about 10 degrees to the right resulting in about 5-7km "left" deviation on Diss-15 nav panel upon arrival at your destination after 100km flight. I've done the tests on Caucasus, i don't think it's the same on all maps. didn't know what that was either, but here i found: https://www.msun.ru/upload/folders/edu_lit/kaf/tss/hyrodev.pdf "Было замечено, что при кач- ке установленный на судне ГК имеет значительные погрешности, носящие четвертной характер, то есть достигающие максимальных значений на рум- бах NE, NW, SE, SW и обращающиеся в нуль на румбах N,S,E,W." This stuff is boat related, but I think the gyro compasses are similar. I'm not an engineer and i don't fully understand how everything works, but from my limited understanding "quarter deviation" is deviation in gyro compasses during rocking of the vessel/aircraft that reaches it's peaks when facing NE NW SE SW, and it goes to 0 when facing N S E W. So "in quarters" kind of thing. It's something to do with fluid level in or around the gyros, not sure. I also found that KM-8 is supposed to be installed behind the left pilot seat. You can kinda see it here behind pilot's left shoulder: https://www.360cities.net/image/helicopter-mi-17v5-the-world And you can also check this one out: https://www.360cities.net/image/cockpit-mi-8-helicopter-radom-airshow-2011 You can see what looks like the ГА-6 and АС-1, but the KM-8 is blocked by the seat -

This is still a thing. Minor issue, but a bug -

Yes, you're right, we can do that. There's no reference indeed. I found it here and here: https://infopedia.su/17x103f.html https://studfile.net/preview/9728285/page:8/ Unfortunately it's in Russian -

So far in my tests, I can't figure out what KM-2 actually affects. No matter what the values I set, nothing is affected. Map moves the same and DISS-15 gives same values. I've read some material this morning and it sounds like setting magvar on the KM-2 makes the aircraft "fly in true headings". It should show true heading on the HSI and it should affect the DISS-15 dopler navigation. Also Mi-8 has a similar system - KM-8. You should be able to set magvar there and it should do the same - make the aircraft systems work in true headings. But i cannot find where this KM-8 is mounted. This is what it looks like: -

Different 9M120 versions in one loadout. Doable?
SnuggleFairy replied to tn_prvteye's topic in Bugs and Problems
I was able to mix them however I liked and everything worked... -
Watch your rotor blade RPM gauge. It has to stay between the 2 yellow marks. AC generators are tied to your main rotor and if it rotates too slow, there won't be enough voltage generated for the transformers to function. AKA if you pull too much collective or do a hard maneuver, the blade RPM could drop below the bottom yellow mark (85%) and the generators will fail temporarily

Как пользоваться компенсатором девиации? На что он влияет? По моим тестам сейчас на "движующуюся карту" не влияет. Карта "думает", что я лечу по истинному курсу, а не по магнитному. Без раницы какие параметры я выставляю на компенсаторе

@TaygaMongunI still have the zoom in zoom out controls available in settings, but they don't function. @Dr Zaius I've reported this a while back. No response from the devs

can not reproduce Red gauges back light bug after last update
SnuggleFairy replied to SnuggleFairy's topic in Bugs and Problems
Still the same for me - there haven't been any new updates since I posted this. It's tied to brightness in settings. Higher your brightness, more noticeable this issue will be. -
Use one of the approved loadouts from the drop down menu in the rearm panel. Rockets and gun pods don't go together.
-
I can take control in your replay and bring up the NVGs no problem. Can you send a screenshot with your control binding for the operator?
-
Short reply to your thread - NVGs work perfectly. You gotta give us a track replay and describe what you're doing exactly to bring them up. Make sure you have keybinds set up for both - pilot and the operator in the settings.

Watch your blade RPM gauge on your front panel. The needle needs to stay between yellow marks. When making different maneuvers, if they are incorrectly executed, the blades can go below or above the marks. When blades rotate too fast - you risk damage. When blades rotate too slow, the generators can't generate enough voltage for the inverters to function. That gives you "Otkazal ghenerator" (Generator Failure) warning message, and that shuts off your autopilot channels and everything else tied to inverters.

No, there's a separate brightness knob for it
-
correct as is Grenade launcher and 12.7mm firing at the same time
SnuggleFairy replied to jubuttib's topic in Bugs and Problems
That's not a legal loadout. Look at what the text says - 2x GUV-1 |Gun 12.7 +2x7.62 +4 ATGMs... You must have edited this loadout -
can not reproduce Hind not lifting off?

Go into "gameplay" settings and uncheck the top left option "simplified flight dynamics" or something like that -

Attach a quick replay. I think I know what it is -
[Multicrew] Is the HSI working in the front seat ?
SnuggleFairy replied to tugais's topic in DCS: Mi-24P Hind
It's a multiplayer desynch. You can fix it by jumping out and jumping back into the operator seat -
What am I missing in the cold start? or is it a bug?
SnuggleFairy replied to Picure's topic in DCS: Mi-24P Hind
Found the culprit. Go into Gameplay settings and switch avionics language from English to Native and it'll fix the issue
