My guess is that DX12 is/was exclusive for Win10 while you can use Vulkan on older OS like Win7. So if you realize that you need a low level API like DX12 or Vulkan to solve problems in your game/app and a good percentage of your user base is NOT using Win10 you only have one option to go - Vulkan. And beside that, it is one step closer to get DCS ready for Linux - i know i'm dreaming here :D

Yes and they said a few times that the guy who was responsible for the AG radar quit his job, that means basically someone else had to be found and this guy probably started at ZERO because it is easier than trying to understand what and why the guy did before. Thats because the RIO in the real Tomcat has no controls to fly the plane....and not a limitation of DCS. But yes, sad for those people waiting to fly together in their MI-8 or UH-1

Good job! :thumbup: The default speed of ships is 20km/h(kph). I slow down to one side of the ship, trim until i match the speed and then slide over. First it's easier to slow down on the right side of the ship, because you sit in the left seat - you have the best view. Doing it from the other side is only a bit more difficult because of the worse view. For me the easiest ship to land on would be the Perry class frigate, she has a big Heli-Deck, the Moskva or the Ticonderoga are a bit more challanging imho because of the size/position of the heli pad. Quick and dirty, sorry for the shaky view, i was flying with my Rift S and there it isn't nearly as shaky as in the recorded track file. But that was also my method flying with TrackIR, it's just easier now in VR. (should be 1440p after YT processing) Attached is the track file of that little flight, if you want to have a look. This is no tutorial, just quick and dirty. One thing i noticed, i started on ground hot and as soon as i raised my collective a little my rpm dropped and i got the generator warnings. Strange, is this a hot ground start thing/bug? I don't get this normally with a cold start.

After updating yesterday from 1.39 to 1.38.1??? (that's what Oculus said in the update Log) i don't have any static white flashes anymore. My Oculus-App-Version 1.39.0.272909, my Rift S Firmware version is 1.8.1

+1 Good version for me too. No static white flashes anymore. :thumbup: The handcontrolers which worked worse for me since a couple updates ago are back to working perfectly fine for me again. :beer:

I changed my CPU yesterday and everything is fine except that DCS is asking me to activate my A10C and KA50 modules at every start of DCS. This is getting annoying :cry: If i activate both modules at the DCS start i get the message that the activation was successful but both actication windows stay visible on top of DCS so i can't use DCS. If i cancel the activation at the start of DCS i can't use both modules... I also tried to go to the DCS/modules/bin folder of both modules and run the activation from there as admin and both times i got the message successful activated and this time both activation windows closed itself but i get the prompt to activate both modules again if i start DCS. The only way to use DCS right now for me is if i disable both modules in the DCS module manager -> no activation prompt ontop of everything, but this way i can't use the modules... Does anybody know a solution for this problem? If possible one that doesn't tell me to delete everything and install from scratch. ;)

Yes, around 3 weeks ago. But that doesn't change the fact that this bug was introduced later and was not present from the EA start. ;) :beer:

This was introduced a couple weeks ago and was not visible with the EA release.

Also the runway illumination doesn't shine through the cockpit anymore, at least in my little FW-190 A8 training mission. :thumbup: :beer: :thumbup:

Do you use TrackIR? If i remember correctly the default keys for "pause/center..." are F10/F11/F12 in the TrackIR software, you can change the key bindings for that functions in the TrackIR software.
