  1. Very very same here. I honestly don't think the level of details put into these modules are financially viable. It's been 1½ year now and I'm getting tired waiting for 1.0 looking at features getting fixed and broken every other update. At least I learned something for the future.
  2. Can you set it as "Client"? If so, try that and you should get to select it when starting the mission.
  3. Have you considered Cliffs of Dover? there's a DH 82 in there. Great fun.
  4. You might want to direct that to the mission designer. But I see you point, the world will end when others, ugly smelly singleplayers in particular, get options to choose from that will make them play this in a manner not following your guidelines. What a wonderful concentration of elitism this forum has.
  5. Your opinion allowed only mindset I guess?
  6.
  7. So you never flew FC2 and Lomac. Is DCS your first simgame ever?
  8. True, but we're looking at 50/50 of forum (online) visitors. I've heard the same from other titles, the MP crowd is very very small compared to number of buyers.
  9. Yes, would love to see numerous FC3 versions and 3-5 plane FC3 bundles sold every year. It's quite fun to fly "arcade kids-sim" FC3 that was state-of-the-art hightech super simulator just a few years ago when FC2 was all we had. Amazing how peoples opinion change over short time.
  10. Yes I did but I've stopped bothering.
  11. Patience? Have you checked the dates here? So, you're saying HB can only work on one module at a time? Let's hope they don't announce a new module when F-14 goes early release then I guess, right?
  12. Missionbuilder needs to zero out the default quantities of chaff and flare for each 37 not having pods. Simple but a bit annoying.
  13. That's interesting Zabuza, are you on 1.5.8? Edit: Ok, just another bug I guess. If I click in cockpit it works but using HOTAS to select ATK and IR-RB will result in flashing E. Really really getting tired on this.
  14. I treat AWACS calls as feet and miles. In this mission I never used radar in radar search but as ranging radar when looking at a target. Not sure AA radar works though as I would expect a distance line when pressing T1 manually pointing at a target (I get the flashing E rather). (Following "Rb 24/74 Checklist" in manual doesn't work for me at least) Going only on BRAA calls I usually locate the bombers visually and point my nose at them until sidewinder says he's good to go. Regarding the interceptor duty the attack Viggen was indeed intended to do second line intercept missions on high altitude bombers having no escorts using Sidewinders and even Rb 05. Hence the J in AJ and AJS (AJ is primary Attack and secondary Interceptor and as such the later JA 37 also had a secondary attack profile, with ARAK only IIRC). To manage this mission, go visual and use your wingman (he killed both bombers for me once when I totally missed the merge)
  15. Think you need to sink Ivanov or the speedboat alternatively destroy 1 of the 4 MBT's
  16. Bombs and rockets were regarded obsolete in the missile fanatic era of Viggen and F-4 Phantom birth years and Viggen was planned for as a missile carrier with secondary options being ARAK and bombs (napalm and heavy bombs were old A 32 Lansen stuff). Your bridgekiller is the Rb 05 (and it sure packs a good punch in DCS too). Small "virgo" bombs comes hand in hand with the low level profile and bigger Mk82 or Mk83's would become a hazard. Had the Viggen been able to lock on a ground target, such as a bridge, loft bombing heavier ordnance could have been an option but in the missile era, missiles were considered the future. And we all know how that turned out for the missile only Phantom's.
  17. AIM-9J and AIM-9L should not be able to LOAL. Just tried RR bombing but I don't even get the 3km marker to show in either A1 or A2 radar. I'm 1.5.8 still.
  18. With the current vortices, do you really need them?
  19. Yes, turn off radar when using passive mode. My procedure attacking naval targets such as missile Cruiser Moscow is searching in SPA with radar at 120km (max) from 500m ASL and when spotting the little bugger I mark his position (T0-TV) and turn radar off. Now, still in SPA, I select his mark with MÅL and datapanel 1 (M1 should show) and activating PASSIVE and going back to NAV. Descending to 10m ASL I can now track my distance and at 30km out I flip the SAFE trigger and start a 5 deg climb waiting for the red warning light to come off and as it does I launch both Rb 04E and bank hard for a 180 turn descending down to 10m ASL again. Missiles usually burn out before hitting target at this distance but they still have speed enough to reach him. He will launch at you when popping up but the naval SA-10's should not be able to catch you. Now try the same approach staying at 500m ASL and see how well that goes (you should have a missile in your face before 40km mark). In general I use the radar very sparsely and most often run in PASSIVE to have a picture of steerpoints (or brytpunkt, BP, as we sveedenland folks say). Sadly setting inbound and outbound heading to a steerpoint is still bugged (getting those lines you see on your landing steerpoint).
  20. Haha yes, those were good times :)
  21. You are correct by any measures Hog, yes the AI can fire any weapon but not the way one should. AShM missions with Rb 04 if for me going in at 10m ASL (below radar) and pop up at 35 km letting go of both missiles but the AI rarely goes below 1000 ft making it an easy target. Bombing, well this is not a B-17 doing carpet bombing from altitude - that, the AI can do - but should be roaring in at 30m dropping all chutes at once or tossing non-chutes from 5 km out. So yes and no :) the AI can deploy weapons but usually from 3000 ft with the intensity of my late grand mother. ARAK is currently a mix of hit and miss. Seen them take out a bridge atleast. They do well with Rb 05 though, always something. But ok, calling it player only can be a little over the top.
  22. I have this small rocket attack on a facility along with a 2-ship AI-Viggens and they keep orbiting/breaking off their attack runs and after lots of grey hair I just switched that flight to Su-25A's with S-13 rockets and they went straight in and delivered their payload not questions asked so there is something with Viggen AI that shouldn't be. My current view of the Viggen is that it's a player only module (AI is not capable to toss bomb either which is an important feature for the Viggen be it HE or ILLUM bombs in target areas with point airdefence).
  23. Not a bug but a problem. Has anyone managed to get your AI wingman to toss bomb the target? I'm trying to get both wingman and a 2nd seperate AI 2-ship flight to toss their bombs but it seems not doable. Giving them high speed 100ft AGL waypoints and normal "Bombing" advanced waypoint entry.
  24. Ohh you really got me there! It still hurts.
  25. I've paid aboot $3000 for a computer every 2 years last 10-15 years. They are pretty far apart in performance, really. The IBM PC 5150 cost $3000 in 1981, can you show me your impressive math skills what you gladly would pay for that today?
