  1. Are you aware that variometers never, ever, read instantly, right? Well, IIRC some really old ones do, and they weren't very useful jumping all around constantly. Usually vario has a delay, a few seconds until settled, so if you chase the needle you won't get a stable reading at all. Maybe that's one source of your problems. Watch the altimeter instead if you wanna check stable flying and trim with that. Besides, a couple of minutes, even if you managed to really set it absolutely stable, isn't enough to achieve top speed anyhow. It's usually a really stable long run thing more than a few moments to reach it. That's why it's commonly really hard to get that top speed.
  2. Hope soon™, and specially I hope it's not longer than this year. MT was huge task and not finished yet, that's for sure, but It's about time we finally see what Vulkan will bring to us.
  3. Always practising with the same mission and conditions, perhaps? Are there any wind you didn't notice? Landing with any tail wind is really bad on tail draggers. Those 90º, always veering into the same direction? Without further details, but there's something weird about high performance tail draggers (well, low performance also have it's glitches) and that's about torque and something more. Something which happens indeed so many times and we pay little attention to is the wheels spinning also create gyroscopic precession, plus lateral movement of the propeller under some circumstances makes one of the wings to load more hence that side wheel grip stronger to the ground than the other one creating a swerve moment. It happens when you raise the tail while taking off, and might happen after landing while rolling out. The thing is, it's wildly counter intuitive because to counter it you have to push the control stick into the swerve since there's where you want to alleviate the differential higher wheel grip into the ground so pushing the stick that way lowers the pressure on that wheel. Don't know about your exact problem without further details about the conditions where it happens, but that so happen and it's really annoying thing about tail draggers. Anyhow, it can be worse with crosswinds, and also less depending on where your crosswind comes from, so it's not even happening all the time, so the conditions of your landing need to be taken into account if you please to tell us.
  4. Wow, I wish I could read the original just for fun. What a read, permanent link to any guy posting, again, anything about "convergence" and why we can't have that option. Terrific explanation, the understanding and knowledge of the OP can be clearly felt in there. Thank you so much for translating and posting Yo-yo. Loved to read that, and it's definitely knowledge to bear in mind next time we're in the air with a warbird.
  5. Yep, marketing purposes. But it was Ilya Shevchenko (AKA Luthier) the only actual responsible. Oleg wasn't even close, and Igor Tishin was included as ED director at the moment, I guess, but he did nothing with the kickstarter at all. Luthier also was selling Fw190D-9 and P-51 in the kickstarter as a part of his failed (or never meant) product but those were ED's, actually. Looking at it now it's all so surreal and unlikely, but it happened, sadly.
  6. The kickstarter was Ilya all alone mate.
  7. Yeah, money taken by a kickstarter not existing since ~10 years ago. Now ED is giving away their work for those who took the money and were never sawn again . They have explained why they don't rush about this bird (previous posts, actually), and despite I also want to see it to a DCS level some day I perfectly understand why they aren't in a hurry with this one in particular, to be honest.
  8. So many times it's way easier than one thinks at first. Glad you solved it .
  9. With regards to the Egyptian defense Ministry, TBH I'd think first, being it an strategical place, they didn't want to model it in too much detail, or any, in order to prevent it from being used as a possible detailed example of the site in whatever it could be, right? To the second, the examples you provide for better textures are very nice, but those look like wheels' tracks on the sand, not quite permanent probably.
  10. I'd write a support ticket first instead of just writing on the forums. Support usually works quite quick and is really helpful with whatever they can do for you.
  11. The map alone doesn't tell the magnetic variation, the date the mission is set on does. Have you checked that?

    What next?

Hope next they finish the Sinai map adding all the stuff they plan to .
  13. If it's a new purchase, check brakes axis are not reversed. They're by default and has to be set the other way around. That might well be why you're tipping over jut touching them, they're fully applied when released.
  14. To this point I still don't understand what's the exact nature of your problem. Could you show a screenshot or something alike to better see what you mean? You mean you don't see them? You mean they disappear? You mean what?
  15. In reality you also have wings with a lift vector, that's perhaps why you don't completely see the absolute same effect. I'd say "to my knowledge…", but I can't really recall all the stuff. What I recall is I always liked better left airport patterns before right ones because those were more comfortable to fly, I guess your nose high attitude instead of having to pull the yoke on top of the right turn is what is more comfortable. C152 of course, nothing that fancy. Anyhow remember you also have adverse yaw in turns, because of the wings and ailerons aerodynamics, that can also change your perception. But yes, those, and a lot more indeed, are the basic effects you have with a turning propeller in front of you. Haven't tried P-47 seeking for those effects in particular and it's correctness, they should be there and should be right. If something's off by mistake it should be addressed of course. Never noticed weird things. Don't you have a video or something to show?
  16. There's a script somewhere to do exactly that within the same mission, it "stops" at some point, loads the new map and you follow in the same place but new map, and back. I guess it's not working online, and I don't know if it works any more. Do some searching if you want to, there were also vids on YT explaining how it works, probably with download links.
  17. Didn't read that in your posts. Well, everything applies the same, obviously, it's just you got a harder time with no rudder pedals. Once you got those Virpil you want you'll kind of have to learn again, but as said everything told here applies the same. You'll just have to adapt to your new hardware. Of course you'll get better .
  18. Here, first page first post, check if any of those are the ones you mention,
  19. Congrats Based on your last video, you can still improve it a bit. You remembered quite well to push stick back, unlike the first video, and centred it at the right time though a bit abruptly. It's not easy to learn, one has to practice it of the mission even, but try to release the stick little by little until you reach those 100Km/H. Releasing the stick at once might result in unwanted movements, even an accident. But more importantly, how come you don't move your feet? like at all?? I see only some brakes usage at the very first moment of the run, but no rudder pedals at all until you're already airborne . Do you have take off assistance activated? If so, that might well be what caused you problems at first .
  20. Aside from further future plans of enhancement they plan or may arise sometime, somewhere there were a list of airports planned to be included in Sinai map. The ones already meant to be on release, and the ones meant to come later while in early access but already planned to be. Have you checked those you mention aren't on that list already?
  21. Everything is always released first on the open beta, no problem with buying beforehand but if you stick with stable version, which is fine, you know it'll take some time for it to reach stable version, from maybe couple or three weeks to a month or so, usually, but nothing set on stone.
  22. I'd be into it either, as well as some sort of persistent tear and wear also. But I'm also quite sure the usual luftwhiner since quite old simulation times isn't willing to go there, they only see problems on the other side .
  23. Your 109 or 190s aren't modelled either with fuel problems, supplies problems, low trained pilots problems, or slave labour building quality problems. Would you like those to be modelled into your almighty 109?
  24. Your experience is really surprising. I can get the relative frustration about graphics quality since they have to be lowered down so much in order to get decent FPS in game, but on the other hand I've being using TrackIR 4pro since 2006-7 and not long ago 5 from a friend who was quitting sim gaming, and it's flawless. In my experience the kind of stutter you refer to in TrackIR usually comes from bad setting, bad placing of the device (lighting, shines, whatever) and usually poor profiles. You cannot have a window in your back, or any light source for the matter, but neither in your front if you wear glasses or anything else in your head, whatever it is you get reflections and light spots in your camera. But it's as easy as looking at the camera IR view to identify those spots and squash them. Track Clip with it's own IR light source also helps, back in 2009 I was at a lan party and while I had no problems with my track clip friends of mine had all the troubles with the really big ceiling lights at the place we were, so even in bad lighting conditions that can be setup to be usable. Wouldn't know why your experience with a specifically made high quality tracking device was that bad, and yeah, I've tried also some freetrack and all, those didn't cut it at least back then, talking about stuttering and low camera frames. So, if you finally got it sorted out however it was good for you, but trackIR is not just perfectly fine but the better suited device I've tried. I believe nowadays anyway similar tracking devices can be bought quite cheaper, but still those are just trackIR copies. And of course free tracking software has evolved a lot, but since my trackIR keeps working flawlessly as always I've no reason to complain or change it until I can get decent graphics in VR as you say, though to be honest that setting up process for weeks or months is what takes me back more to even try going into VR. I'm a bit tired of configuring everything on PC for such long times whenever I want it a certain way, be it DCS or any other game. I'm more expecting a plug and play thing these days instead of having a Ph.D. on VR settings.
  25. Yeah, I also missed it first time I looked for it in FS98…
