  1. The problem is in DCS now and how it draw the shadows. There some general formula how dark the shadow will be. But there is one point, that only few people realize. DCS now don’t have autoexposure like human eyes and cameras. Without this feature, you can experience in DCS very bright surfaces at direct sunlight, or very dark shadows, all because lack of autoexposure. What can really help is some future AVERAGE GAMA AUTOMATIC CALCULATION, which will constantly adjust picture brightness.
  2. Hi, I couldn’t noticed, that after 2.5, there are currently at 2.5.1 non symmetric shadow projection on terrain and objects (plane/helicopter, currently testing on MiG-21). In mission I have 5/10 clouds (cumulus together with cirrus at 13km height), both clouds are projecting shadows, but only the lower clouds on terrain. The higher clouds shadow obstruct direct sun light on parked plane but not to surrounding ground and structures. I will post here some screens, to depict what I mean by this topic.
  3. I have managed to contact SVKSniper yesterday and agreed on some following steps to improve 3D model and texture resolution. When we both are happy, we can send the result to you -Rudel-, than its up to you :)
  4. Of course, Priority for me was the textures for my two skins, but Metal/Silver is one, which is "MUST HAVE, must be done" version, together with ability to load it as a center tank. Than I can that also provide PSD template for download.

So I tried to improve following: weld lines missing or wrong place, fuel filler cap missing and another two circular caps, 3 black holes at the bottom Normal map should represent weld as convex, not concave, tail of tank should be offset from its axis little bit upwards, but Im not used to work in 3D, so it is still not accurate = axisymmetric.
  7. What I’m using is the "OLD" PSD templates. Problem is that, it is little bit messy inside of them and for example for landing gears there no template at all. Result after 1 year of working around is pretty good liveries, but it has its dark side: time spend at PC, improving old/new textures to look better in DCS 2.5, tuning the colors to be most accurate. All this related with tuning Roughmet. For example since Roughmet include red shadow channel, the original texture shadows are not need as much as in DCS 1.5 was. This week I will release refined Czech "2500" livery and brand new "9801" if -Rudel- will not respond to my offer as standard module liveries. (with collecting photographic documentation, all the markings, special fonts, camouflage, realistic colors, Roughmet tuning, ... it take 180 hours per livery.

  9. Thank very much Sniper, Your 490L fuel tank is good start, but I had to rework all textures (base, roughmet, normal map) with better accuracy and details. But the result is almost what I wanted. Only thing is the resolution of textures. It is still not enought for crisp detailed textures with stencils. Please, fi you can help with this, I would love it! Here is my "Pre-realease" version of "CZAF 9801" with bigger, reworked fuel tank:
  10. Take upper picture into simple picture editor and make following steps: 1) make it monochrome 2) make picture negative 3) tune Gamma to 0.4 4) increase contrast to 70 Voala, you will get this. Only difference is that script for DCS IR is not counting shadows. Dont expect anything more than this, it will be not worth of money when compared with problems with programing IR simulation of the temp changing across the day/months of year/different map locations/ target moving - static ... almost whole new simulator. Who will pay this???

Rudel should really do somthing about it ... at the end, it is only couple of hours of 3D modeling and some textures. So come on Rudel, sit at your PC, make yourself one strong coffe and problem is almost fixed :megalol:
  12. Hi, tested yesterday, but forgot make some screenshots, but anyway...I tried to observe the distance and visibility of strobe, anti-collision, navigation, formation, landing lights at NIGHT. It has been reported many times back in history of DCS, but may be this could be the right time to fix it finally, who knows... Problem is obvious, you are losing sight to all these lights very, very, very, very, very, very close to observed plane/helicopter. My screen resolution isn’t much, just 1920x1200. May be with 4k screen, I could get better distances, but still this is not the state of realism, DCS is declaring it should be. :doh: Night formation flights and especialy rejoins and rendezvous are this way dangerous and difficult. :mad: You can see my spotlight from larger distance. :lol: ED team should rethink the way the lights work, because with current shading, when you have full thick clouds, there is pretty dark under them. And this problem is currently not present only on aircraft, but also urban lights and airfiled lights. All those need rework, PLS ED, dont forget to add these into to your near TO-FIX schedule.   13. PLEASE NOT AGAIN :( this image is again only cenversion of current textures, NOT SIMULATION OF IR WORLD!!! If you would not know that tank is here, only know is genereal area, you will search him for minutes, before finaly find him. I hoped that with comming DCS 2.5 this will be fixed by ED, and IR world will blow our minds. But now, very dissapointed, not by Heatblure, but by ED . But still, any new image from F-14 development is step forward :thumbup: For now the render efect work simillar like described here: https://www.dcresource.com/forums/showthread.php?7034-Infrared&p=364068#post364068 And ... for some of you, before you write anywhere, that something is AWESOME, first try to search documents, images of real thing. Than compare these and make your statement after. Your post will look like written by somebody who actualy care about sim realism.

Hi everyone, I was reading allot of trim post, people arguing, how it is and how it should be, ED team arguing back, that trim is correct how it is and it will be not changed, because of somebody’s different opinion. So I want to try a shot, for how many of Bf109 pilots are happy with it how it is, and how many of you would like to have wider range into "nose heavy direction" of trim wheel. Just this, I DONT want to reopen whole discussion again, because it will either way lead to nowhere. Hopefully this will be not closed or deleted.

  19. Hi, how about the repair staff will take the effort and check landing gears out, before the will release you from 2m high floating position. Would be very nice to see this in future, be able after repair actually leave the runway. :thumbup: If already suggested, my apologize, not reading every single comment in this huge forum.
  20. Not only NAV lights, I suppose all lights need to be tuned. May be 3 different textures and settings for each part of day: night, morning, noon.
  21. Ok, I’m apologizing of any negative behavior here on forum. I’m trying to be non-offensive, but it is my nature to get warmed very quickly. Especially, when incorrect answers to my posts are repeated over and over, with zero result after all spend time and energy here. About the respect, … everybody, ED team no excluding, have to earn his respect, no one can have for free or just by getting some competence. If I report something, and it is reasonably answered to me, that there is no need to fix, or they will fix it ASAP (and in the end, they really did it). Those will gain my respect very quickly. So tell me, or write me some example, what type of post or message will start ED team make actions to improve the sound? How can I help to Bf109 owners, to get more realistic sound. I tried since the module is out (also trying to make brand new sound mod), but with no luck after all. Ok, can we clear the desk, and start this discussion once again, this time with cool mind? And finally move this problem into final solution.

  23. Can someone else from ED team confirm this info? Are you hundred percent sure, you are not talking about Hispano Aviacion HA-1112 Buchon? A lot of people can’t recognize the difference between both planes.:megalol: If it was really Bf109, than can you give us info about recording date and the Bf109 name?(Rote Sieben?) , type of microphone (frequency range) , original sound quality (bit rate), info about engine regimes at which the db605 was operated during the sound recordings. Have you any photo from that event, can be even low quality from mobile phone. And finally, can you provide us some sound sample from that recording. edited note: Another RU based sim dev studio actualy shared their video from the recording event. Very very nice vid :thumbup: Please dont make any comments about this note.

I will be very, very glad if I’m wrong with previous post and someone will finally make sound records with new sounds for DCS Bf109K.
