  1. For me Hornet is waaay easier to refuel. Yes, Viper refuels quicker, but you have to stay in 2x2x2m box a whole time, whil in Hornet, after connecting to the basket, you may have an epilepsy attack and still stay connected.
  2. Did you set up fuses in rearming window? Simple selecting loadouts may not be enogh, because of fuses logic changes.
  3. First thing check for double bindings in DCS.
  4. No, on the ground airfields wings should not be folded. It's a feature use only on the deck to save space.
  5. I would guess that old missions/campaigns that were made before patch and new fuzing settings, doesn't have bombs setup correctly in mission editor and that need to be fixed by mission maker. If you're testing bombs, do it in a new mission made after the patch.
  6. As in title - when Hornet is set in hot (on an airfield, on the ground or in the air) has INS knob set to NAV, not IFA.
  7. No, you can't. It stopped working like that months ago.
  8. Also with cluster, you just have to know, that aircraft computer calculates canister drop, and does not take into account wind influence on bomblets on parachutes. But as far as I know that's how it should work. Anyway CBUs in Hornet are useless.
  9. In my experience CCIP is very accurate.
  10. If the mission is in 1989 there is no GPS available, so you should set the INS knob to Nav, not IFA. That won't fix that anyway, because Hornet has standing for years bug in INS that will mess up CCIP reticle if there is no GPS available.
  11. I guess it's not implemented. In ATFLIR pressing MARK sets Marpoint.
  12. I guess most probable is that it's just an old screenshot
  13. Laser was working, you can see it on the video. Also you can't change laser codes in flight in the bombs.
  14. Also on the video bomb is not armed.
  15. When you release Harpoon flying lower that programmed height (for example flying ar 15 000 and program Harpoon for High), then it flies on the deck.
  16. 1. Cyclic is in helicopters - it refers to how helicopter works. Planes have stick. 2. When watching YT real videos be very cautious what you're watching. Most of them show Super Hornet which works considerably different that Legacy one, because Super Hornets have Magic Carpet system. It's easy to identify in the cockpit video - legacy Hornet has UFC with "hardware" buttons, Super Hornet has UFC in the form of touch LCD screen.
  17. The real question is if AI aircrafts pick that up. I'd say that 90% chance that players won't, but how it works for all-knowing IAs?
  18. No, it's Super Hornet. You can see engine intake at the beginning of the video.
  19. Video description says it's drop from 20 ft. It makes touchdown speed ~2100 fpm. On the video it is Super Hornet, not Hornet. So it's VS limit on touchdown is ~1400 fpm, much higher than Hornet. Still video shows over the limit touchdown speed. Nowhere it says that the landing gear wasn't damaged during test. It's just haven't been destroyed.
  20. IRL you can't change laser codes for most of the bombs (AFAIK you can for GBU-54 and Mav E). Codes are set on bombs by ground crew using a screwdriver nullSettings on Stores Page are for pilot's information, so he don't have to remember which bomb is on which code. Yes, ED JTAC needs reworking.
  21. If this is airstart training, just edit mission for correct loadout, fuel and weight. I just mention that to not learn dumping missiles whenever you want.
  22. Wrong. Fuel is the first thing to dump. It's the cheapest and easiest to replace. But we would have start with mission planning and something called bring back weight - you plan your loadout for a situation you won't deploy any weapons and you still have to be able to dump fuel to recovery weight with enough fuel for safe recovery. Taking full load of JSOWs or 2000lbs bobs is not realistic. You also should drop empty fuel tanks, unless emergency situation.
  23. As Shimmergloom667 said, plus 1050 fpm is a bit too much. Aim to touchdown at ~750 fpm. So you were a bit too heavy and a bit too high descend rate = damaged gear.
  24. I would start with Hornet NATOPS. Document A1-F18AC-NFM-000, you'll find a lot of reading there. You can google it, I won't post it here, because of unclear rules here. null
