In the UK, you can get it non-digitally in Maplin/PC World/Dixons etc. Usually on those rotary rack things. CEX is also worth a shout.

Ah there I go misreading things again. Although it does call itself a DCS World Patch. I should have read the version numbers better. I did know what version number was needed. I just misread what I was downloading.

Ah. Thanks. There is a 1.1.2.1 patch available in the patches section. I can wait a few days to fly. In fact I'm going away for a few days this afternoon anyway. It was just on the big long list of "things to re-download/reinstall"

I totally cleaned out my PC and performed a reinstall of windows after purchasing a second SSD. Now when I look for it, I can't find a link on ED's site for a torrent of DCS World. I'm sure it used to be there, didn't it? Anyone able to help? Sorry if I've created a new thread needlessly.

The last few posts remind me of an article I read several years ago about why a pre-release demo is always pointless. People who would pre-order have already pre-ordered. A good demo will bring in extra customers whether it's put up before or after release. A bad demo before release may put off people who had - or would have - pre-ordered. I think the article was in relation to the demo for the first Dead Space. A game whose demo was notoriously unrepresentative.

Origin promotes their big names quite well but makes everything else hard to find. I hope it brings them some revenue. It's nice to have somewhere else to buy in my own currency but I've ended up buying everything except BS1 and Lock On Gold directly from ED anyway. Those two I bought in retail stores with walls and shelves and everything like in the old days.

We have almost entirely three pronged electrical outlets where I come from. 2 prongs tend to just be in bathrooms.

For the person asking about public sector workers striking, I don't know about Greece, but in the UK, many public sector workers are union members. If anything their unions can be more powerful than in the private sector. The police are not permitted to strike. I don't know about the army, but I doubt they can strike. In 2003 (I think it was), the fire brigade went on strike, causing much worry. The army stood in for them.

I will probably buy FC3. Not 100% decided. I don't have money set aside for it. I'll probably just pick it up at some point when I have the spare cash. This weeks spending money is all gone so I couldn't buy it if it were to come out tonight for example.
