  6. Have you added a command post? Can you post a screenshot of the farp?
  7. I noticed its now recording it as desktop and not under DCS video folder. Is that right too?
  8. I appreciate the help- but i need a solid solution not a workaround or quick fix.. This is effecting this beautiful game for me. Its made my game worse in the highlight of awesome new clouds. Jump in a warbird. Now without letting go of the stick and throttle, shoot down a bandit you cant see on the edge of visual range. Where as before we could zoom-scan, and shoot. Now we have to let go of the controls to do either which works against the very thing you said. Touch Controllers with Vjoy- Yeah, thats why i mean. They arent a long term solution. As for 'weight from the issue', i think if we'd had a recent post with issues from the pointer id understand. But from a search, i cant find anything from December 9, 2018 onwards. They are years old, the issue doesnt seem to be recorded. I think people understood that the VR controllers werent going away, and lived with them. Now because of the changes we have larger problems, hence why people are reporting their dismay in this post. There isnt a real quick solve for these issues and the 'low hanging fruit' is to enable users to revert back to the old way through a switch in the options as youve said. But now, im using the flat of my finger to place my finger onto MFD buttons, and the lower switches, instead of just 'pushing them' and because of the new larger glove theres a conflict in the way im able to use the control effectively. Green was the old pointer. Red is the new. You can see this from being in the game, pointing at something and then pressing the menu button in the oculus, the pointer is WAY out not just a little bit. Its almost 40 degrees in the wrong direction which is really confusing. Ive never experienced any switch being terrible until now. And the LTD/R is now less accessible now because of the point control. The laser pointer now points in the wrong direction which is what weve been saying. Its bugged, hence which is why weve lost all our binds. Yes, this is correct. But if youre like me, and use the Touch Controls exclusively to fly while working away on a laptop -when youre flying the FA18/F16 etc, your left hand remains on the keyboard to activate and control the TGP, and release weapons. So you become used to operating and using the systems with your right hand through obligation, its a burden- but its still intuitive.. When the day comes that the VR controls become full fidelity and we can control the TGP and weapon release with them, ill go back to using both hands. But were at least 5 years away. Im limited by the amount of binds ED gives us on the touch controls. I dont mind the just the trigger, that allows me to fly WW2 as real as it gets, but i need that pointer in the right direction too. Before we had some binds, Now we have none. Its bugged. If im in a FW190d, then my muscle memory for that is normal but now not so- since the changes. So where as before we had a workaround that was highly intuitive, now we have broken controls and modules that we cant operate without More workarounds which is highly unintuitive, hence why we are trying to report it as bugged. VR controls have never been this unintuitive. @BIGNEWY Is there anychance of some feedback towards this complaint/bug-report? What do the Devs say about the new pointer and key binds?
  9. If i delete the folder it comes back once, then disappears again Its not a big deal, i can open other maps from the editor, i just didnt know if it was a new feature or a bug.
  10. No, the binding is a bug- Ive had this discussion before when the A10C broke in the last update, the pointer/trigger is done within the VR part of the API. At least the trigger and zoom button should be there, so right now- Its just broke. Even the guys in VR who use a HOTAS have mentioned the loss of binds- especially those with a rift s who rely on zoom to see the gauges. I know you dont want the pointer, but until they adjust that part of the game, and include it in the settings (which i feel is a long way off) the influx of new and usual touch control players are stuck with no way to play warbirds without having a hand on the keyboard. AutoOculusTouch works, but its ineffective as a long term solution and we shouldnt have to rely on 3rd party software, as a workaround for part of the game thats now broken and now needs fixing. While you had issues with the pointer, we now have even more issues with the touch controls, and the loss of bindings and pointer misdirection carries alot more weight. I never had an issue with mis-grabbing any controls in a year of playing this game until 2.7. And im a big advocate for getting rid of the HOTAS and moving to touch controls. Yet because of the way the pointer has moved direction, and how uncomfortable and unintuitive it is, im gonna have to dust off my G940 when i get home. Yeah, that link is spot on. The new direction of the pointer is off, in stead of it pointing from the end of the finger, it now points from the fingerprint. Its so incredibly unintuitive to push basic switches. Even turning on the 'rocker' in the Mi8 for the weapons now takes me a 'dramatic' amount longer as i cant see what im pointing at now. An example is the pylon select, because the hand now covers the point' i have to click and hold and wait for 3 seconds until i start seeing the cross, before trying to select which pylon i want. What was once an intuitive point and click, is now something else much more user unfriendly. Spending some time in the FA18, Ive never had such a bad time trying to reach and push the flir switch. All the buttons that i would click with my right hand on the left panel, (lights, gear and flaps) are really awkward.
  11. Toggle solved.. Good Job. Now we need the pointer rectifying and the binds back so i can dogfight in the warbirds.
  12. Yeah I agree, That list would be adored and loved, but look how long its taken to get new clouds, do you really think were going to get a control overhaul. Thats what i mean, You 'press the button to let go' Youre already grabbing the stick. Holding the button confirms this, when you let go of the button, its like youre letting go of the stick. This new system, means i can grab the stick, and cyclic then put the control down, and go to the toilet and the game thinks im still holding the stick. Its not realistic anymore. I agree with what you said, without holding the cyclic, its just unrealistic. I think we need to put them back to the way it was. Get that realism back. I liked how much more real it was before. This new way is far less intuitive.
  13. I mean in reality yes- our copilot would do it for us.. Surely- It goes both ways, You wouldnt be able to switch seats mid flight. Stretching your arm to flick a switch would probably be a better solution than swapping seats with someone, only to swap back.. The Mi8 is my go to helo' Its a bit broken for the VR user right now.
  14. dcs.log So no one else has this issue? Do others get the 'new mission' and 'open mission' page?
  15. Youre right. Ive just had this trouble in the Huey server. And you cant zoom, so when you want to select guns and turn on your weapons, its a nightmare with the new pointer..
  16. I agree with you! But until we have those settings in the VR panel, a majority of the players i fly with arent playing anymore because the new glove system is giving the righties' Carpal tunnel syndrome when they push the left MFD buttons.. How do you mean old triggers? Ive just had a 40 minute game in Warbirds, where i had to fly one handed, as to be able to keep a hand on the space bar to shoot. And now we cant fly heli's as we dont have a trigger switch bound. The old way for helis was perfect, It was like having a trimmer switch, grab>move>let go. Now we have to grab>move>grab>let go.. Its far less intuitive. Especially for the people like me that have put their HOTAS on a shelf.
  17. Dont do it, make sure you tell support. Its bugged. I just had an amazing shoot em up game in a channel server, i had to fly one handed, as i had to keep one hand on the space bar to shoot. Same for lasing in the hornet. And flying Helos is bugged too.
  18. After a year with the old grip, i now have wrist ache for the first time. Please put the VR pointer back how it was with the new hand..
  19. Yeah, PLEASE restore the triggers and zoom, PLEASE restore the old pointer, and PLEASE lose the 'sticky' grip on the helicopters.. Before you could point the heli where you wanted to like a trimmer button, and it would fly itself. Now I have to grab the stick once to 'hold it' and grab it again to 'let go'. Its really unintuitive this way.
  20. My grandad was born in Ukraine, He would say a 'Nyaksent'?
  21. You can build one, But it (itself)- will be a mission. Open a mission file. Time more than 1 Set random flag value (Flag 1 Value 1-5 * being the number of missions you want to randomise) If Flag 1 value = 1 open mission *Kill Bandits etc If Flag 1 value = 2 open mission *Ground destroy etc and so on and so forth for each new mission you want to add. It shouldnt take long to load if there are no units in the map. But then all you need to do is call the mission **Strikers Gamble** And add it to your Quick mission menu. Hope that helps..
  22. Enroute tasks work, Search then engage is Zone is cool too, that gives the AI a firewall they cant fly past but ideally you want to leave the range to the AI to deal with. Ive seen enemy fire long range missiles at my wingman for him to evade, then do nothing as the Enemy would turn and run and leave the zone, they would always fly away when out of missiles, which was dumb. I just find Datalink increases the parameters, and i prefer my AI ordered closed to do what i say, and not give them ideas. Some people use the Datalink, I prefer not to. Order of options does make a difference, If you set ROE Fire at will, Followed by Search then engage group, then Restrict AB. Your AI will mostly fly full burn to intercept meaning their Wingman have to go Full burn to follow them, then they RTB sooner. If you Restrict AB, Then Search then engage, Then ROE FAW. They will fly at the parameters of speed set on the waypoints. Its a grey area, but in the long term it makes big differences. Backwards i know, but I once built a full F-16 Mission for PG. And only the lead would arrive, the rest would RTB. For weeks i couldnt figure it out, then i shuffled that list, and then they all arrived with bags on too. Delivered the payload and went off to refuel. You can physically set the AI in this game to do anything, Its not that bad, but it is when you dont know how to program them.
  23. So- You want balance and order. Your plan- Send FA18's in to disable the air defences, then send Tomcats in to disable the enemy interceptors, then destroy all ground units was a good one. But to have all the units do the job in order you have to make them all know when its their time to do their job. Thats what the flags are for. If you break it down. Your First WP instructions mean they'll search then engage the enemy at a cost of fuel, and if they cant find the target or its out of range, they'll Orbit, until the get a ping on the Radar. However, if they do what youve asked them to, and the FA18's havent cleared the SAM's theyll have to deal with them. Your second WP instruction, youre saying they should orbit first conserving fuel, then go find the target, they will only fire upon the enemy if the enemy come within range. They will only return to an Orbit if you put that in their list of instructions after theyve destroyed their target or they hit their next waypoint where its on their list of 'todo's. This is where YOU make the decisions as a mission commander. Do you want them taking the risk or do you want them waiting for the all clear. If you want them to have a clear run, then really you should put them behind the FA18's on takeoff, Youre sending them ahead of you to wait, while you pass them and do your job. Breaking the mission down. Destroy SAM's Flag 1 - Keep it simple, always have ground groups in increments of 5 units, and have a trigger set up where group alive less then 95%- This means if the Harms hit there target (which will always be a radar disabling the SAM) flags on or for multiple groups a value increase. If you need to make it more specific, add a 25 value for each group, and then have another trigger, to when the value is more than 99. Then Flag then comes on. Send interceptors upon Flag 1 - Orbit at waypoint with a condition stop for FLAG ON 1. Your F14's will stay where they need to until you hit the mark and gain that flag. Upon Unit Dead (SU-33), Flag on 2 AV8B's Orbit with a stop condition of Flag 2 You were gonna get there anyway. We just pointed at the right bit. As i said, youre instructions were perfect, just in the wrong order. Your AI were getting a bit confused and going home to save mission integrity.
  24. Ive opened the Channel, and closed the mission down, but now i cant access any other map. I can load another mission, to access that map, but once that map is up, it boots to that map everytime. Is there a new way of dealing with maps? EDIT: If i open Syria from the editor and click NEW MISSION I get the Map access menu, but not from any other map. Restarting the game now opens the 'select map' menu from 'New Mission' I guess that page has gone forever..
  25. Good Job guys!
