Is this a current high prio for January or something for after "EA" completion?

Make the noob-54 "U" again in RWR please :D

If a game really makes you feel that way you should uninstall. -
There's also several more texture and gauge bugs. In my opinion the Tomcat needs a big "cleanup" update before they focus on any new variants and features.

14A natops and youtube vids of tomcat ground startups.

Had mine for quite a while and love it. Havent had any issues with it so far.

It is correct now, you just dont understand how it is supposed to work. On the ground with flaps deployed, engage the spoiler brake, advance throttles slighty to make them retract then THEN engage DLC - you will clearly see it engage. Now, I dont know if the stabilator shift is still present.

Not true. Same happens with the F-16, Mig-21 etc. all the time. It's called not being a dick and respecting rules. People will cheat whenever possible. -
Pitbull no matter the range.

Much appreciated response, Mike, and a Happy New Year to you and everyone at Heatblur too!

Yup, had exactly the same experience and reported the same above. There seems to be an altitude band where you seemingly get stuck at 1.1 due to some drag-wall and have said TIT spikes. No, I get that it is a lot of work and that it really was something that ED "broke" in the game, globally that everyone needed to address, and hence was not expected. But why not get this right the first time? A simple, last glance over at night if everything looks like it should could have avoided all of this. This is the very basic of qualty control. I have done texture work and mods for other sims and I never pushed or uploaded something without giving it the final thorough review to make sure everything is correct. Maybe that's just me kind of being a perfectionist with small details. Regardless, as a customer having to deal with these "issues" for over 6 months now is really annoying - I know how that sounds but this is how I feel about it. I do appreciate the tremendous effort you guys put in, but sometimes it seems like there is no structure or clear internal roadmap to what you fix or include, since most of the oldest bugs/issues have been seemingly forgotten or simply weren't addressed yet. Exactly the same way you can still click the jettison buttons in the Viggen through the cover since release.

Seems like a bug to me. The whole lighting rework seemed pretty rushed anyway as can also be seen in the way too dim AOA idexer and some washed out caution lights here and there.

I hope they finish the PBR and sound overhaul, improve the in-cockpit pilot, fix the numerous smaller bugs and hopefulyl address the quite ridiculous top speed at sea level. Then the modules is mostly complete and out of EA.

What are Heatblurs/ED’s Plans for the AIM-54?
Skysurfer replied to THE KING's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
If its not 1 chaff it's 2-3 chaff bundles. Point is, 99% of the time it goes for chaff from a beam/notch. Has been the case since forever now. The 120 doesn't even do this or didnt do it this reliably last time I checked. -
I think we are getting the latest and greatest F8J with the 420 engine and APQ-124 radar + AIM-9G capability.

HB, thanks for VF-11 and VF-33 liveries
Skysurfer replied to CanopyJettison's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Yes but all of those wouldnt look right. I get that this feature would be nice to have eventually but it's not that easy to implement properly and there are far more important things on the list currently. The only reason why FC3 planes, the Hornet and Viper can use dynamic modex is the beforementioned lack of font variety and names below the canopy or BuNo numbers etc. And even then the implementation on the Viper is pretty lackluster and still has a few glitches. The only places where you'd actually benefit from having said dynamic modex numbers is maybe while operating off of the ship and on the cat or in fingertip or echelon (even then you wouldnt be looking at the number but at your leads airframe cues). And like I said you can still do that as HB provide 2-3 ship liveries on the 14B for example by default - anything beyond that it's fairly easy to arrange your own liveries when flying in an online group. You simply wont have ech full squadron included by default by HB as it's a ton of work and a ton of harddrive space. -
What are Heatblurs/ED’s Plans for the AIM-54?
Skysurfer replied to THE KING's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
PN algorithms and a simple seeker logic can be found in various books. The math is all there and other games like BMS have used this to great success. What I meant by "basic task" wasn't a knock on you guys as I'm sure you could knock it out of the park if you had the full control over it - what I meant by that is that you guys have to now rely on ED's "API" which doesnt seem to take any finished state for over a year now and causing more troubles than there were before the missile API rework. The Phoenix and AMRAAM experience was way more consistent and at least in line with expected values before the rework, obviously not taking into account the different seeker guidence states and logic. Would really love to know who or how many people are working on the missile API at ED. I think HB should be made the exception and allowed to develop/use their own custom code for the Phoenix since it's a pretty unique and complex missile. -

Has been like this and changing for almost a year now. Maybe they'll fix it maybe they won't, I've personally given up hope at this point if such a basic task is taking so long. -
Yeah check your controls and potential curves.
-
I know right. I hate these people who barely even fly/use the module and think it's somehow finished or doesnt have any bugs.

HB, thanks for VF-11 and VF-33 liveries
Skysurfer replied to CanopyJettison's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
The Hornet doesnt have the same variety, nor does it have Buno numbers on the jet or pilot names. Different implementation. And outside of squdrons it barely matters as no one online cares how your jet looks. Just my view on this. -
Apparently the weight doesnt show up in the ME but is indeed there. These pylons wont cause much drag so top speed should be roughly the same anyway.

Then get some of the thousands custom liveries which have several modex variants and tell your wingman to do the same? -
They said the ext. fuel tank drag is a little too high right now. Problem is you cant have different drag values for missiles based on their station. A Sparrow in the semi conformal tunnel station will have less drag than on the wing pylon station. But yeah it does seem like drag overall is pretty whack. The Tomcat has been and still mostly is a hangar queen for me this year until they fix all the game-breaking bugs. Honestly dont see it getting out of EA and rid of most the bugs and issues by the end of next year.
