AIM-54 Changes / new API fixes are live in today's patch
Skysurfer replied to IronMike's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
What kind of weapon manual are we talking about here? Can you share it with us? :smilewink: -
Yeah. Even the SPO-10 in the 21 is quite useable.
-
The early A's had the ALR-45 which is a much older system. Works quite different from the digital ALR-67.
-
Lock jumped to a friendly, he was probably merged with him. Can happen sometimes.
-
Yeah +1 nees to be slightly more pronounced and stay for longer depending on the wind.
-
Problem is not the glide vehicle itself but the bomblets being blown away by the wind. This ain't a CBU97 or 105.

I am sure if your favorite livery isn't included someone will create it once the paintkit is out. There are a lot of talented people out there.

The Legit Discussion for the D Model Tomcat
Skysurfer replied to HairyPOOnuggets's topic in Heatblur Simulations
Late -A's and -B's also had DFCS. The Sparrowhawk was a B(U) thing and the D had it's own, different HUD, can't remember what is was called exactly right now though. DFCS also isnt like fly by wire, it's simply digital processing and inputs between the regular SAS channels and inputs and the flight control surfaces, aleviating some of the more nasty and undesired flight characteristics. It does not limit G's and apply rudder inputs at high AOA for you though. I could see a B(U) and DFCS A, both with the PTID being possible but that is entirely up to Heatblur and it wouldn't really provide any significant advantages or features to the tomcat apart from maybe JDAM capability on the B(U). The actual D model is almost an entirely different jet though, when it comes to systems and avionics. -
Will we have both the early beige+brown splinter scheme and the new blue-ish scheme for the IRIAF cat?
-
Works for me. Are you adjusting the physical knob in the cocpit or the binding?

If you could pick any map next, what would it be? (Poll Vote)
Skysurfer replied to dimitri18's topic in DLC Map Wish List
I would say a Vietnam war era Vietnam map given we have the F-8J, A-7E, F-4 coming and Mig-19 and 21 already in the game. Add to that some more SAM systems of that era and several assets and you have a fairly immersive experience. -
[NO BUG] TOO modes overwriting targets between stations for GBU-38
Skysurfer replied to uri's topic in Bugs and Problems
The easiest way is to designate one bomb via a markpoint, drop it, step to the next markpoint and repeat the process. You either use PP targets to set up beforehand or do it via the method above. Anything else is too much of a headache quite frankly. -

No, it is very relevant. -

The real question is what is the difference between TWS and PDSTT D/L guidence? I always asumed it was refresh rate + obviously the active command at 16TTI in TWS. -

Most of those liveries were made already. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3307339/ https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3306961/ -
*bump* - was this aknowledged so far?
-
While it would be nice to have as a feature after the full release v1.0 one thing to also consider is the "toll" of such features on performance as all of those swappable cushions and panels would have to be rendered and loaded in the background unless you did completely separate models. This ofc. would increase RAM and VRAM demand even more.

And this is what I'm saying. The D/L receiver of the Phoenix is in the back of the missile and the target does not need to be illuminated by an extra guidence signal for that. It's literally a STT track which determines the flyout. You also don't need to hit the target directly in any way - you have a 61kg warhead + proxy fuse. Regardless, without clear documentation we will never know for sure about these mecahnics. -

Yes there are known issues with the radar currently. -

The Phoenix does not use CW. Just older Sparrows, even though it's told the 7Mand MH use CW as well in the Tomcat. Guess we'll have to wait for an answer from HB or find other sources then. -

That's how I look at it as well. Couldn't care less if all my flight members have the same modex number when flying form. Heatblur already provides like 2-3 squadrons with 2-3 modex variation jets. More than enough for 99% of people. -
Yes the 2004 digital one for the DFCS A. What is a "proper" version in your view?
