  1. Phantom would be cool, but Mirage III vs MiG-21 was the ultimate showdown IMO, plus its single seat.
  2. If you check out JP 3-09.3 there is a section with planning consids for the use of unmanned platforms in CAS. They have some very handy capabilities (some of which are in that document). Point of note, they are of course subject to the same procedures as manned platforms, however armed UAS are NOT allowed to prosecute a type 1 attack. That's not insignificant, some would do well to note.
  3. Sorry for the delay mate, Not much to show for the last few months actually. A forum member was kind enough to give me a set of Mirage IIIO Manuals including the flight manual, maintenance manuals and weapons employment manual (so I'm not lacking info fortunately!). In there I found some good reference pictures to improve the accuracy of my jet such as the interior of the intakes, sections of the wing and tail .ect. At the moment though, working on the cockpit because the exterior was frustrating me :smilewink:
  4. Safe to assume you know very little about CAS. A drone performs many missions well, but is not capable of executing CAS to the same standard as a manned jet.
  5. Edit: post removed.
  6. I'll be packing up the TrackIR in favour of the rift :smilewink:
  7. Haha yeah if we concede that the Phabulous Phantom is the Rhino, Saitek has still done us a disservice ;)
  8. Looking good!
  9. Very nice vid!
  10. Yeah I thought it a strange choice of name. Why else would you call a stick the 'Rhino' if not to evoke the Super Hornet?
  11. I'm using the Logitech G940 (a horrible stick): its quite sensitive but manageable. I've been guilty of just running with the stock linear setup in the past and adapting but I might give some of these numbers a go.
  12. That's pretty gnarly. As for Mower, rumour has it he's still saving himself for FighterOps ;)
  13. My post was tongue-in-cheek, sorry for the confusion :smilewink: You are quite right; what ED has made leaves me with no reason to complain. As for 'combat gas', that was referring to fuel that is surplus to that required for a given flight (no back seater = a few extra aeros!?).
  14. I don't suggest anyone do that (for a sim), but what I said is true.
  15. A back seater is just combat gas out, pax in. Complain! ...legit complain ;)
  16. Despite the desire for something "realistic", probably the most realism-shattering thing you'll ever do is buy a module, and moments later be burning holes in the sky in it.
  17. Great vids! I'm usually not one to critique the music choice, but its a pity they didn't use something a tad more original...
  18. I've often had these feelings about rotary wing aircraft ;)
  19. Classic.

Their site has a very rough ETA (spring 2014).

  22. I got this far, which is pretty good considering you opened with "While I love APA..."
  23. Haha, I'm in a steady relationship with a fine single pilot fixed wing aircraft ;)
