  1. When you see an aircraft taxiing around with fresh scratches up the side, or someone struggling to park their jet... ;)
  2. What's the rough timeframe for 1.2.8 release anyway?
  3. Yeah its taken a while. If you'd started ab initio military flying training at the point that the first DCS fast jet module was announced, you could be flying real lead in fighter trainers right now... Yeah it really is helicopter world.
  4. Copy that. The Cheetah is on my to-do list, however it will require some extensive modifications. The plan is to do the IIIE and IIIC (which won't require much re-working of my current model). From there there's plenty of variants that can be created with little effort (except the cockpit), ie. Mirage 5, IIIO, IIIR, IIIS, ROSE, IAI Shahak and Nesher. The Kfir and Cheetah require a bit more, due to the different wing, the changes to the fuselage shape, different canopy .ect. I intend to get there at some point, though.
  5. Yeah I heard about this one way down the track, but I never knew it existed as a kid. Fantastic sim, such a good atmosphere. Loved the 'cutscenes' when you failed to meet the CO's expectations. "I zigged when I should have zagged" .ect. I used to actually name my characters "Lt Col. <whatever>" because I couldn't get the rank myself lol. Good times.
  6. I wouldn't worry about it; this is a pretty typical reaction (out of the 12 pax rides I've given, 8 of them spewed), and you'll find that you're a lot better or completely fine on your next flight. Problem is, if you take a break of about a month or more, you'll be back to square one.
  7. The one and only. I could only get a purple heart on this bad boy as a five year old. Had to park off the end of the runway and shoot friendlies in the flare in order to get a few kills.
  8. Yeah the III would be so good. So iconic. IIIE and IIIC would be my picks.
  9. Wrong Mirage for that epic showdown unfortunately. Still, I could dabble :smilewink:
  10. Came back to the Mirage IIIO/E after a bit of an absence from modelling, and re-did pretty much the whole thing. I'm now happy that the airframe is accurate. Few finishing touches (note bits missing from the two bottom pics, and the jet pipe is just a placeholder) and I'll be on to everything else...
  11. Nice. Didn't even know about this; I usually just roll lone wolf.
  12. Ultimately we'll never know what happened, but rumours suggest that the module was so promising, the MiG-21 such a joy to fly, that a simple 2v2 ACM set to test the jet (rhyme points) spiraled out of control (literally and figuratively). The joy was too intense, the sense of immersion too great. The feelings the pilots experienced whilst flying the MiG created a rift tearing the team in two, the result being two internal rival squadrons and to this day they are locked in Internal Beta Combat to determine who's the best. In the team. Just what I heard, also Beczl is a hat.

Guys, just watch out for those simulated powerlines when this bad boy comes out.
  15. Wonder if they'd have a problem with someone making an IAI Nesher :shifty:
  16. Mirage III. Interesting to hear about Dassault shooting down potential projects though. There are games with the Mirage in it (Hawx .ect), is it something about higher fidelity representations they're not a fan of?
  17. I just tried a few on excellent just then: F/A-18, Mirage 2000, F-16, Su-27. Started with the bandits on my six, no real difference between them as far as I was aware. I never noticed this till recently :S
  18. I noticed this the other day. A mate I usually play against wasn't available and I was bored, so I did some BFM with a range of jets (I was in the F-15). It was ridiculously easy, so I tried increasingly foolish manoeuvres to put the enemy jet in a position of advantage. It seems to confuse them more than anything. I'll try the Mirage though.
  19. The shape of the whole top end is different too, though at a glance looks quite similar.
  20. At the moment I just want to print an f18 grip so I can throw it on my diy base. Nice work on the rest of the grips too, they look very authentic! I tried to do this a few months ago but my 3d skills aren't quite up to it ;)
  21. Any progress with these flightstick grips? I've been eagerly awaiting any sort of news ;)
  22. Kittyhawks, and 75 SQN in PNG ;)
  23. The rift will be awesome for some types of flying, a simpit better for others. Anything that you only need a stick and throttle for, I'd take the rift anyday (formation and dogfighting).
  24. It's not the Pilatus PC-9, you can tell because it has the fin on the underside and the canopy is slightly different at the front (the PC9 doesn't have a canopy bow at the front). Its the T-6 texan II by the looks of things. I've not had a chance to fly the Texan but I've got some hours up on the PC-9, avionics are a bit dated especially when compared to the former (would be good to have the 'green stuff') but it is good fun!
  25. I'm heavily biased in this regard, but the Hornet is probably the best choice for the next high fidelity DCS jet. AA, AG, carrier ops. I'm going to turn my back on Falcon once and for all! ;)
