  1. Interesting, does the Tanker operate so close to stall speed when refueling the Hawg that it can't slow down?
  2. Just scratched the surface on TAD functions and after watching this tutorial, I have a much better understanding. The EXP functionality was particularly helpful. Great Job, Fish!
  3. Maybe a ramjet type configuration (slit vents in front), then auto-close when firing.
  4. So what is the typical cool down time in the real jet? (Hey, If it's classified, don't spill it.)
  5. So, even though you get the warning, it doesn't affect mav performance in the sim?
  6. Good info. Is this actually modeled in the Sim?
  7. Aha, bird strikes. Forgot about that feature. Wonder what the RW percentage of A-10's losing an engine because of it?
  8. I may look at IFF after I get a better handle on the "functional systems" of which I've just scratched the surface.
  9. Deadzones are used for non-precision "noisy" sticks that bob around the centerpoint.
  10. I believe there's a limit to the fuel allowed in MP. Perhaps the other guy had more fuel to begin with and was above the fuel margin which would allow him to complete the fueling. Could also be a bug or due to connection lag that throws off the calculations. Just guessing.
  11. Were your tanks full when the disconnect was called? I've noticed that sometimes you'll get a "Disconnect" call rather than "Transfer Complete" in SP. Not sure of the circumstances behind that though. In MP, I think there's a fuel limitation so I've only gotten partial fills and told to disconnect. After resetting it doesn't allow any more fuel to be taken.
  12. There's definitely an invisible pothole on some of the runways. By staying over to the left of center, I will usually miss it. You actually hear a "thud" when it happens. Never experienced it on landing, though.
  13. ^ Maybe it should start moving a little faster, it was just sitting there. :) Guess I'll wait next time.
  14. Just happened to me today while I started the "Hideout" mission. Went into the weeds to avoid a Humvee in the middle of the taxiway and heard a thud. No master warnings, except for the gear lever when I took off. Left main gear wouldn't retract. Jettisoned stores, came back around for an emergency landing.
  15. It's usually a long walk to the nearest base, or over the next mountain. lol. But I prefer to hitch a ride.
  16. I guess I noticed it on one night mission as I'm powering up on the tarmac far away from the taxiway, and I'll get beamed at odd angles by the AI as they taxi by. I would assume a minor graphics thing.
  17. Nice job Topgun505. When you ignore the HUD and fly the picture, it makes all the difference.
  18. Not sure what the key command for throttles are, but try that to see if it's not a controller issue. Also, are your fuel boost pumps on? If I recall if those aren't on, you have reduced power, but I'm not sure about that one.
  19. There's a slight delay of throttle vs speed, so my challenge was trying to predict how far to back off or push the throttle. initially I was doing the yo yo with the pole even with slight throttle movements, but eventually I was able to predict the movements. Remember, when approaching the tanker you are faster, and most likely out of trim for the tanker speed, so re-trimming at pre-contact position is essential. If everything is perfect, trim, speed, flying the picture, you shouldn't need to adjust anything, but of course, it's never perfect. Something to shoot for, though. :)
  20. This works for me. I try to keep the boom wing position glued to the top of the canopy and slight throttle movements to keep the barber pole in the green.
  21. I guess your assuming that Ralfidude has a server to Host his missions.
  22. Yeah, pretty neat. I'd like to find a vid that shows a landing from the HUD's perspective, that would be helpful.
  23. Here are some landings ... 2PRth-wXFtY
  24. I guess the only good thing about the master warning is it tells you that your battery is good.
  25. Plus the A-10 is not an F-16 whose fuselage is designed for high-pitch angle aerobraking, (according to all the Falcon 4 version manuals I've read).
