Love the new skin and the new prop effects, well done and thanks for the updates

I've bought it....but stone me how many switches are there in this thing, gonna take me 30 minutes to find some of them, The Soviets make it simple to fix, but if I was flying the real thing, being a lanky thing, I'd scratch my knee and turn off something useful. I recall the Tucano had a problem with the something like the handbrake and fuel cut off, being side by side. There was a big air safety meeting and lecture from the Station Commander at RAF Linton on Ouse, there will be fire & brimstone on the next inadvertant fuel cut off, foul up.....and sure enough, there was one about 1/2 hour later.....by the Station Commander as he turned onto the runway....had to be towed off....he was human! Not the most ergonomic machine I've seen

Should I be worried about the pilots in the Hind
flyingscotsman replied to Rogue Trooper's topic in DCS: Mi-24P Hind
As a non VR, just got a big screen, I was glad to see the pilot body....until I realised I could'nt see the switches, the Gazelle panel was all obscured, Sorry mate, your fired. As long as I can see a figure, when I take a look alongside, I would not inflict my face on him, he's got enough trouble's with me driving. Odd how it doesn't work out the way you would have liked. IMHO -
See the Puma is coming up for replacement, and the AW139 is proposed as an off the shelf replacement. I was fuming when we gave our beautiful Merlin's to the Navy, they must've laughed their socks off at that one. MOD decision making at it's best. So why not re-order the version we had before, commonality of spares etc when operating alongside the RN and I'm sure it's more capable than the AW139....and more importantly, looks better. haha Anyone know if the RN used them as a replacement for the junglie Sea King/Westland Commando?

I too found the video after buying, glad to see that landing is not a skill you need from the start, just dump in on the ground'll do, That's my style of landing too! Poor old Petrokov the AI guy is gonna fall out with me pretty quickly. But it looks a beast doesn't it. The Afghan's called it The Devils Chariot, so it must've been effective....until the stingers showed up.

WIP 1940 BATTLE OF BRITAIN
flyingscotsman replied to Patrick56's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
This looks really great, thank you -
Just found this and downloaded the Merlin, warts and all it looks great so thanks for even attempting it. If the scale is wrong, I've not really noticed it....pilots were almost always smaller than me anyway haha. All efforts welcome, some work some don't, that's life. Best to know when to stop when it's getting away from you. If you get back to it' It'll be great

VNAO T-45 Goshawk
flyingscotsman replied to MadMaxter's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
I can recommend the MFG Crosswinds, been impeccable for about 2 years, but there is the odd aircraft that does not work well with them, usually a MOD. You may not have to pay $600 then. Nice kit of the T-45, post a piccy when it's done. Got a 1/48 Hawk I've still to start.....retirement not too far away....just got to get there first ! -
Thoroughly enjoyed this today, aye it needs some more wee updates, prop not great in certain views, but it's a lovely wee trainer, COIN aircraft. See grim Reapers for a video instead of a hand book, well done the Reapers for the info, and the makers.....WELL DONE THANK YOU

HMAS Melbourne R21 (1980)
flyingscotsman replied to Bungo's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
What I'm getting from all this, is just how SMALL the carrier decks are back then, and we have the U.S. giants to play with. With a prop plane, It looks big...but coming in with a 50's 60's jet...scary -
I have similar, since the free period it wants key for my f-15/su-27 etc that are on my FC3 KEY. I put it in, but next time....still asking and totally won't let me have the mig-29....wierd. But thanks for the steer to get rid of the nag on the nav system I don't use either

Gazelle is completely frozen when game starts.
flyingscotsman replied to hakulus's topic in Bugs and Problems
I have the same problem, as Hakalus, AND I had an update to malwarebytes, done all the install/repair etc, I notice it has been missing from the Options/control section of the GUI, also that the Coremods/sa342/bin folder was empty. Done ANOTHER repair, set the a/c 6000 ft, had a non rotating falling safe, where not one single switch was operable....before impact....then I found this page...Thank you Hakalus, for some reason it took me ages to get the correct syntax for Malwarebytes to accept what I was trying to do, and accept the dll. About 4 repairs later I got it right, very frustrating -
I purchased Modules, but their not showing up in DCS
flyingscotsman replied to army198527's topic in Payment and Activation
Yes I've JUST found the page, THANK YOU, Will try what they say. Which was MALWAREBYTES stops the /bin/s342.dll file, suspects its malware and that's all the switch settings and what allows you to be a 'player' not a veteran etc. Took a while to sort. but got malwarebytes to accept NOT to scan that file, and it all worked -

flyingscotsman replied to army198527's topic in Payment and Activation
My Gazelle has stopped working, maybe since last update. I have done repair/clean/update. Started with no mods. Copied my back up version accross and it updated. Still no response. The gazelle does NOT appear in the OPTIONS/CONTROL - list of installed modules. But is listed as installed in module. I still have the key but it now says keyless. I unselected it in module manager and restarted the game, it came up as still installed. When I try to select the Gazelle it is greyed out and only available up to Veteran status. any assistance appreciated. dcs.log file in winzip attached my zip files.zip -
1/2 a day later. Using Nellis as the backdrop, I have a rendition of Dover AFB, thanks to the Military Mods guys, so took a security patrol in my Military fast patrol car, (The masaratti - we need a USAF Police skin ..imho) , totally broke the speed limits (RAF one's anyway-that would have cost me my MT Driving permit - CP3 Safe for airfields....colour blind, if you need to know) I have some Strykers patrolling the perimeter, they look mean. My apologies to the infantry troops doing the patrolling, that is a BIG aircraft apron, and I wasn't carrying any water...SNCO should look after his troops! Tried to board a C-5 via the front ramp, had a tour of the undercarriage, but at least it's the same colour as my 1/72 C-5 in my man cave. This has been an excellent MOD, sure it falls of DCS bridges or hits what looks like an drive through bridge, but it's fun, it's a break from flying/concentration, it's ENTERTAINING! Thank you. .....can I have some blue lights? hahaha

The bikes do not appear for me, must be me, anyway I managed to get on the main daul carriageway in Beirut, heading for the port, I was having a blast - no pun intended, with this mod and then saw a flyover, and just as I thought....is it solid....I exploded LOL. THAT WAS BRILLIANT! Thank you

Helicopter EFM Demo
flyingscotsman replied to nibbylot's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
Chirpy, well done with the Jayhawk, yes many will be asking for the download, incl me, but, enjoy what your making, in your own time. I have no skills with the PC CAD etc, so take my hat off to you. It's like building a model aircraft, say a vacuform, you have to enjoy learning new tricks etc, and it may turn out as you wanted, you might have to accept some compromise, but it's your enjoyment. Stay Safe -
