Thanks, I’ll try it without Quadviews tonight! yea Meta lenses are indeed very good, just wish they had higher res

Yes it’s all calibrated and working. I’d say 70-80% of the FOV is clear, just the closer I look to the edges, the blurrier it is. I’m afraid it might be the lens design. Kind of reminds me of my G2 , which had a sweet spot in the middle. Of course the sweet spot on this one is much larger, but not edge to edge

Hi, im curious what you’ve decided to do. I just got a Crystal and it still feels like a compromise in some areas(edge to edge clarity and comfort mostly), and I’m not sure yet if it’s worth the upgrade from QPro

Hi, I've just got a new Pimax Crystal. While I'm loving the resolution in the sweet spot, I'm wondering if there is anything I can do to make the edges less blurry, or distorted. I'm coming from a Quest Pro which really has the edge to edge clarity, albeit with lower resolution. In the Pimax Crystal, if I'm looking down or to the sides (for the instrument panel let's say), I notice that it's a little bit blurry. Not a deal breaker, but I was really hoping for that 'perfect' headset I'm running quad views which is working well. Not sure what the reason is, or if it's inherent in the design of the headset. Any input is appreciated! Thanks

F14 VR - VDI screen not usable in MT Version
Dentedend10 replied to westr's topic in Bugs and Problems
I fly in VR in MT Open Beta and am still affected as well -
I’ve always used an alternate headset with no issues, just FYI

Hi! How do you find motion smoothing in the Pimax at half refresh rate? (ASW equivalent)

Just tried DLSS with increased pixel density. I have to say DCS never looked so good and performance is very much acceptable. I used to run my QPro with oculus app resolution maxed out and 4x MSAA and QuadViews Today I tried DLSS, which of course made image quality not great. But then in the Oculus Debug Tool I increased PD to 1.5 just to see how it is. It looks amazing with better performance before than before. There are some artifacts that I’ll have to live with but the overall image quality is great. I’ll be keeping these settings. I was gonna get a Pimax Crystal for Black Friday but now I’m hesitating…

I haven’t seen much posts pro-TAA. However, I have to say that a quick test showed me the best visuals with TAA only. I always noticed the shimmering in the F14 cold start in the Caucasus on the wings of adjacent aircraft. With TAA it’s gone!! Very happy about that. I guess the only cons is a little bit too of ghosting happening now. Still, I probably prefer that to shimmering. I have tried all AA methods and all upscaling methods. Best visuals are TAA with no upscaling for me. Am using DFR specs down below

Thank you for your detailed comparison. I’m currently on a Quest Pro and potentially considering a Crystal for Black Friday. however, based on your description it might not be what I’m looking for. I’m actually happy with DFR on Quest Pro. What I’m looking for is a WoW effect in clarity and colours. I would like to have less shimmering (due to higher resolution hopefully). Can you comment on these?

You’ll have to calibrate Eye tracking as well in the Oculus home settings

Any solution for alternating throttle bases quickly ?
Dentedend10 replied to FZG_Immel's topic in Winwing
And if you are looking for something more sturdy then QR4rigs is a great solution. I use their mount for pedals and sticks but I’m sure you can use it for throttle too -
Mine has arrived too. While I have yet to try it in flight, I do have to say it’s a bit disappointing how limited the mounting is. I am on a DoF motion sim platform, and this panel comes without any mount option to one of the main motion platforms out there. There should be some holes for screwing this at least on the bottom. So for now I’ll have to order an extra mounting plate from Amazon and stick it to metal, which I’m not sure how feasible it will be edit: I was able to mount it using a universal mount from Amazon. Not ideal, as it is still connected by the sticky pads only, but it seems ok for now.

After having countless ways of disengaging autopilot during ACLS (PLM button, autopilot switch, stick pressure, etc.), I’m not too surprised there is countless ways to set up for a dogfight
-
Mine is also on the way, so is an aluminium plate for mounting I really wish they just made it mountable to their Orion Bases. Regardless, very excited!

So is this headset really omg? I mean clarity is important, but what about the distortions? Are the controllers as bad as some made it sound? And so still no motion smoothening (ASW equivalent)? aero dropped the price, but the lack of inside out tracking and controllers is a no no for me

Winwing PTO2 Panel now available (also in EU Store)

Thanks although I don’t have those options. Might need to order some random clamp online -
Winwing PTO2 Panel now available (also in EU Store)
Dentedend10 replied to maikchaos's topic in Winwing
I was really hoping there would be a way to mount it to the Orion 1 throttle base but there doesnt seem to be an easy way to do that based on the images and the manual. I am on a motion rig (DoF H3) so I cannot use either the table clamp or the flat mounting solution. Anyone has any suggestions? -
Is there any immersive way to interact with the cockpit?
Dentedend10 replied to dlder's topic in Virtual Reality
I use QPro controllers as well. Accuracy is great, it gives the extra function of zoom and opening the menu as well as can scroll and even imitate touch (with haptic feedback in some modules). I do agree it’s not ideal that I have to pick it up from my lap every time but the alternatives I tried (leap motion and HTCC) did not provide the ease of use controllers do. I was thinking one day to have some Velcro on the controllers and my shorts so I can just strap the controller to my legs (like a kneeboard) when I’m not using them. Maybe I’ll try it one day -
I’ve been having a fantastic time with QPro and DFR. For the first time it feels like VR isn’t a compromise compared to 2D. the low res area hasn’t bothered me ever. If I look really hard, in some scenes I can notice where the rectangle with the high res end. It hasn’t bothered me enough to play around with the settings changing the size of the rectangle as some other ole have. most importantly, the immersion has never been broken for me by slow eye tracking or lower res rectangle

Hi! I'm also loving the campaign and the theatre. I had the issue that I completed the mission (got the RTB call and the music played after landing), yet my score is 50%. Looking at the track file, the only thing I notice that is out of order is that there is a rogue Su-25. I use MT Open Beta version that is up to date. I can provide track file as needed. Thanks!

Eye tracking control of in cockpit switches
Dentedend10 replied to Mr_sukebe's topic in Virtual Reality
Hi! Are you actively using it? I haven’t got around to set it up yet due to some bad experience with Leapmotion. I have the QPro so if it’s good I’d set it up -
Hi, I’ve fired some AIM 54s today and out of the 4 none of them tracked the enemy plane. fired at FL300 at 40nm at some Mig29s at Mach 1.1. My AI wingmans AIM54s tracked well. the only reason I could think of was my incomplete INS alignment. I asked Jester to cut it at 6.8, he then gave me the ‘ready to taxi’. Would that be the reason? thanks!

OpenXR's hand-tracking and controller emulation. Works for anyone ?
Dentedend10 replied to ZerXen's topic in Virtual Reality
I was having the issue of accidental ejections in the hornet. Then I found that you can turn on an option in the settings where interaction only occurs as long as you are holding the grip button. So interaction is much more reliable that way. However, it also gets rid of the haptic feedback that happens when interacting with buttons, which is sad
