Hi the mods I have in the Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\mods are Tacview, SRS, VAICOM PRO, 476RangeTargets, HighDigitSAMS and some aircraft that I don't even know how they got there (F14, Hercules, J-11), so will kill them. What sounds mods did you see? I tried the CORE mod before but have it disabled at the moment. Thanks

Thanks for the explanation! FHolger calls it VR Performance Toolkit. It could be confusing, that's for sure. Am using mods on all layers to squeeze out every last milisecond of frametime. -
Hi BIGNEWY, Please see my log attached. I ran a repair a couple of days ago. This is with some mods enabled. Will try slow repair and refly to try again probably later on. Cheers, dcs.log

It happens right below my plane when I am in the weeds. Looks really trippy. There is about 1-2 NM distance tops. So tree distance or visual distance should not be a factor I think?

Hi I haven't tried it yet. But when I look at his Github I see the following, so I guess it is not fully implemented yet. Planned mods: "Fixed foveated" rendering (render fewer pixels at the edges of the screen) Radial Density Masking (all GPUs, but works only with a handful of games) Force hidden area mask: don't render pixels at the edges that are not visible in the headset. Many games already use this mask, but not all. This mod will allow you to force its usage. -
Hi since the latest update all the warning sounds got really bad. The gear up warning, Stall warnings, autopilot etc. They all are very loud and remind me of Windows 3.1 standard chime and dingbings etc. Spoke to Bignewy on Discord and was advised to check own mods. Checked them and they are no factor. Yesterday flew with someone else who experienced exactly the same thing.

I welcome a shake for the added immersion inside VR, but this was not feeling realistic to me, more like a bug. But maybe it takes some time getting used to. The hog could use some love. Let's hope it gets some attention soon.

There is no slider under special, but there is an option for wake turbulence under Gameplay. I always have it on, but this effects the hog's response to wake. I don't know if this would make a difference to switch this off, did not try it yet. - Tried it, Wake turbulence OFF is no factor. Still shaking.- I wanted to report it as a bug but found out it was already reported. BN informed that they are aware. -

I ran the test with the full Kegetys shader mod with Albedo SS set to 0x. You are correct, Simplex vs Albedo like for like are about the same performance-wise. So in order to have Albedo to get rid of the shimmers in the cockpit we have to use the full shader mod? Or is there a way to add Albedo to Simplex as well? Cheers -

Okay cheers. Will run a test without Albedo to compare performance. Did you also notice the terrible shaking of the cockpit that was introduced with the latest OB? -
Since latest OB update the warning sounds in the hog sound very loud and remind me of windows3.11 warning sounds. @BIGNEWY I tried troubleshooting (as you advised on Discord), but could not find a solution on my side. Did anything change?

I thought it was my setup... It looks really bad and it makes me a bit nauseous flying with that shaking. @BIGNEWY Any ETA on the fix?

So I just tested with Simplex (Albedo SS set to 8x). I noticed the metashaders2 folder not getting populated after installing a shader mod, the fxo folder gets populated. So with my very limited technical knowledge I honestly have no idea what is going on there. Observations Currently Simplex gives about 2FPS and 0,4msec GPU frametime better performance than the full Ketegys Shaders. Currently Simplex gives about the same performance as Vanilla (no VR shaders) Conclusions The new OB update resulted in nett overall loss of about 5 FPS and 1,4msec GPU frametime, because shader mods have no impact anymore (test 95 is latest test with OB-18996). Simplex is the probably the best shader mod to use at the moment (no significant additional loading times, no significant penalty for Albedo SS, IC Pass) I hope others can confirm, or even better, find a way to get our much needed GPU performance back. (red texts are delta vs previous test) -

Yeah the OB changelog noted the improvements. I used to try and fly exactly over the waypoints trying not to miss a trigger.

Yes it really took very long with me. I also did not gain performance afterwards it seems. So will fly without the shaders mod I guess.. -
Of course this is the first thing I tried, does not work. The trees pop up as I fly right over them..

@Taz1004 Any idea how to get rid of the growing trees? I am often flying low altitude and just see trees shooting out of the ground and growing as I fly over them. Have preload radius set to max. It looks really silly and I can't find a fix anywhere.
