  1. Okay sounds good! So I have switched it on and will keep it on. Haven't played with the headset on yet to see if I notice the improvement, only ran the performance impact test with the headset on the desk.
  2. Yeah it is very handy. I do it everytime there is an issue. Quick and easy. But there is a catch. Since my PTT is still not working correctly (even when I switched throttles and throttle software), I am still on the .24 version. I have disabled automatic plugin updates in the config tab. If you don't do this everytime you restart VP you get an automated pop-up window informing about a new version and asking if you would like to update. This forces you to leave VP and say 'No' to the update dialog. Then you have to hop back into VR.
  3. You mean it does something to the visuals? I ran a benchmark test and noticed no FPS or GPU frametime change during the trackfile. Test 72 is without and Test 73 is with MFAA enabled. DCS MSAA is set to x2. So I will leave MFAA on, can't hurt Some time ago Lukas S./Wolta also ran a bunch of NVCP tests and had the same outcome. Summary in his pinned comment.
  4. This is how I have setup the restart.
  5. Anybody got the foveated patch tested and working? Am thinking to try it but haven't messed with dll's before, am running Reshade and don't want to lose the sharpness.
  6. I totally understand and am considering downgrading as well. If only our multiplayer server would allow it..
  7. Yes I added a Reset function to a hotas shortcut. Very handy. Will check the exact function when I am home behind my pc.
  8. F10 | Options to to say you are done with the fun and the story picks up. (Check 01:51:30 in my video for next steps if you like.) It is followed with an ILS approach into Nellis through rainy clouds, which is great! I will do this one a couple of times again to also practice a missed approach. If I remember correctly you can also skip the first two parts and go direct to shooting the ILS at the startup of this mission.
  9. Okay so do I understand correctly that one of our biggest VR performance saviors FHolger provided us with 2 extra mods on top of OpenVR FSR? OpenVR FSR https://github.com/fholger/openvr_fsr/releases OpenVR foveated https://github.com/fholger/openvr_foveated/ VRPerfkit https://github.com/fholger/vrperfkit Should all 3 be installed side by side? They do not overlap? Cheers,
  10. Hi @speed-of-heat, in your original post you wrote you were still on the fence about Reshade back then. If not using it anymore, what do you currently use for sharpening? I really notice a huge sharpness drop when I disable it. Cheers,
  11. Thanks, will do! Most of the credits go to SilonAM my Tac Turns instructor.
  12. Yes please if you could. Otherwise I will do it. Thanks
  13. Thanks! Good to know and happy to help.
  14. Another great practice lesson with loads of information I did not know! Items that did not work for me: 01:14:00 IFFCC 30MM page. Adjusting MIN ALT (in mean sea level, not AGL). Voice over says to correct for AGL and enter 1.500. Subtitle says to enter 5.100 feet. I entered 1.500 01:32:00 Minimum Range Cue (did not work, carrot was visible, but it did not drop, so set too high?!?) 01:36:35 Trying the Minimum Range Cue again (not happening) 02:22:35 CCIP Reticle run ins trying to get the Minimum Range Cue, but did not get it. 02:36:Request to orbit at the Truck stop. 02:41:00 Entered orbit at Truck Stop and circled a couple of times, but nothing happened. 02:44:10 After leaving the orbit the script started again around 5-6NM out.
  15. Hi so occasionally I hear a strange pattern in the cockpit sound while enroute, starting at a low pitch and then rapidly ascends. It reminds me of an accelerating race car driving through a tunnel. I am not sure if this is a bug. It starts at 01:52:52 and takes about 8 seconds.
  16. Yeah I would really like this too, similar to the sylabus I requested in another thread. Since a lot of theory (which is hard to find elsewhere in easy to read format) is covered before/during/after the practice missions, it would be very handy to have a document to study away from the sim. As a workaround I created timestamps in my videos, so when I want to hear something back I don't really have to search long for it.
  17. No worries, we all have our days. Good to know the input is appreciated.
  18. Okay please let me know. I will definately fly this one again some time. Liked it very much. A very nice practice mission.
  19. Yeah I am starting to understand. Hope it will be improved somewhere in the near future. I had a great time regardless, well thought out mission.
  20. Hi, I don't consider myself a lazy player and I take my time reading things through. I do expect the briefing and kneeboard pages to contain all neccessary information for navigation. Using an F10 map is not very realistic, so I also try to not use it during flight. Yes I found the working areas the next day, when I looked at the separate briefing document which I found in the campaign folder because I was trying to see if there was another source of information. The working areas were not mentioned in the briefing provided when starting the mission. There were about 20 additional maps / kneeboard pages included with the mission, most of which were not relevant to the mission at all (are they provided by the campaign, or by DCS?) None of them contained a map indicating these working areas. Regarding MOAPA: I hope you don't mean to say that not including the word MOAPA in any of the missions documents, kneeboard pages or waypoints/flight plan was an intentional issue to make me work a bit more. I had no way finding it while enroute. Even after using the menu to tell Biff I needed help I was not pointed towards Moapa. When I fly missions online and am asked to navigate to a waypoint that is not in the flight plan, I look it up in the mission database and if it is not there I look up the coordinates in the kneeboard provided. My FL never tells me that I should remember the waypoint because we had been there a week before. XRAY was an entry/exit WP to the range I think, which was also not included as a waypoint in the mission.
  21. Hi, first I removed my VR shaders, cleared the FXO and Metashaders2 directories, followed by a repair. Then I ran one track file performance test. Track file is about 2 minutes long. Then I installed the VR shaders mod and ran the same track file again, with headset at the same position (stationary on desk) Average FPS Average GPU Framerate 1. Vanilla 55.8 16.21 2. With shaders 59.8 14.95 My observation is that the VR shaders still work for me. They get me about 7% FPS improvement and about 8% GPU Framerate improvement.
  22. Mission 7 was very useful with lots of practical information that can be used during almost every flight. Learned a lot about the TAD, which turns out has way more functions than I thought. Great voice-overs again and also the example drops with the vipers was really helpful. @baltic_dragonI ran into the following issues (timestaps refer to the video linked below) 12:15 Taxi (script waited for me to start rolling before continuing and giving taxi clearance) 30:08 Checkin with Blackjack, asking for clearance to ' Coyote Bravo, Charly, Delta and Caliente Alpha, Bravo and Charlie. (What are those? Not mentioned in the briefing or any map) 30:25 Given approval entry via XRAY (What is Xray?) 31:25 Wile E gives approval to 'Caliente Alpha, Bravo as well as Coyote Alpha, Bravo, Alamo Alpha and 61 Alpha and Bravo' What are those? Not mentioned in the briefing or on any map). 55:10 'Disabling a waypoint will also turn off the lines and labels and they will not turn back on when you set the waypoint to ON. In which case you will have to enable them manually'. I don't understand this. 01:33:31 Setting a WP 218 for 10 from Moapa. (Moapa is nowhere to be found in the kneeboard). 01:36:00 The F-10 radio menu help option to ask for explanation did not help finding Moapa. 02:00:35 Taxiing on Thunder yellow line, planes are parked too close. 02:01:03 Stopped at initial position but no Mission complete message.
  23. Sure, just give me a location to put it. Size is 95MB
  24. Sorry I don't completely understand; - You mean to try with and without the shader mod I am currently using (2.7.9.17830 Taz's version)? - With and without your Migoto mod? (which version, please supply link and settings?) - You do a full repair before each MOD installation and test? (including clearing the shader folders?) - You say 'game should be tuned for lowest fps', but I always tune for highest FPS? - I am using fpsVR to record FPS and CPU and GPU Framerate data, while running a benchmark trackfile and calculate averages. This should also give a similar outcome I guess. Thanks,
  25. Hi I am currently using Taz's shaders version, but I am happy to test. Please provide links to the mods you used in both test versions and the mod settings you had? Tnx
