Oh sorry - I misunderstood RagnarDa's question. I approach from whatever direction my previous waypoint is no matter the Pop Up point - because Pop Up Point = Target Point for me. They are in the exact same location. It's like it doesn't calculate the distance to the Pop Up point at all.

Announcement - new A-10C DLC training campaign
rainyday replied to baltic_dragon's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Awesome. Looking forwards to this campaign! -
Yeah I agree that DCS doesn't need to be expensive hobby. I was playing this with a basic Saitek HOTAS and my old computer just fine. Sure you can spend tons of money on your equipment & controllers, it can be one aspect of this hobby - but you can play just fine with much less if you're not too picky and just want to do some flying. In any case - I don't think $70 is too much for a state of the art plane with two variants, additional assets (carrier), training missions and two campaigns. I think the campaigns alone are a big deal. No info about missions/campaigns for example in the Hornet info page - which puts me off as I (currently) play only SP. Actual mission/campaign gameplay content is something I surely could use more of. I think the campaigns are a bargain at $9,99 - but the thing is, I feel you really should get something to play with the module itself. So well done Heatblur on that regards.

Northwest in this occasion.

Pop-up points are not working for me. They are added - but are exactly the same as target point. Here's my procedure: >Load cartridge >REF/LOLA IN - 9099 - LS/SKU >TAKT IN - 9 - B3 >TAKT IN - 300110 - B3 Result is that I have pop up point added (U3) - but it's in the same location as target waypoint (M3). Caucasus map, single player, stable version. I've seen no other mentions about it which makes me doubt my procedures - but I've tried different variations, read through the manual many times and the pop up points have been working ok for me few months back.

How do you set a safety altitude? Also having issues with level bombing when flying level, have to try shallow dive. Manual states release altitude is around 200 meters - is this also the safety altitude as standard?
-
What, if any, do you see as the most serious current problems with the Viggen? -Engine performance - especially at higher altitudes - seems off. -Some of the weapon modes (CCIP high drag) doesnt work as advertized. -Not enough missions/campaigns (yet). When was the last time you played the module? -Today. How great an impact did incomplete/buggy features have on your enjoyment of the module? -Some. But I can usually adjust my gameplay accordingly until things are tweaked/fixed/added. Did you raise these issues with HeatBlur? -Yes, or they had already been noted and responded to. If so, how satisfied were you with their response, if any. -The response to bugs on general seems to be OK/good. Not everything is adressed right away - but I can understand priorization. What sort of other important bugs, now resolved, do you remember and how long did it take for them to be resolved? -The crashing few months back. I think it was resolved quite fast - but getting the patch thru ED took some time. In your opinion, what is a reasonable amount of time for bugs of varying complexity to be resolved? -It depends how severe. On little things it is enough that it is acknowledged - major things (that affect a major gameplay element) should be responded fairly quickly. Week / few weeks. In your opinion, what is a reasonable amount of time for a module to be in Early Access? -Year max - preferably less. Based on Heatblur's claim of having their F-14B module being mostly feature complete on early access launch, how confident are you they will be able to meet that goal? -Seems like a otettu solid promise. Knowing what you know now, would you purchase the AJS-37 Viggen Module? -Yes. It's been great to play around, feels like it's just missing few polishes here and there and gameplay content. Knowing what you know now, would you purchase the F-14 module? -Yes, but would like to know release date atleast before pre purchase.

Awesome! Just getting into CombatFlite and loving the Viggen synergy. Seeing the flightplan - whether it be custom or autogenerated cartridge - on CombatFlite would be great.

DCS last Update: Big problem !!!
rainyday replied to FistofZen's topic in Controller & Assignment Bugs
Not sure if related (I'm running stable, not open beta) - but I'm missing ALL controls AND controllers. I don't have any controllers listed or any keybindings listed in any of the modules (A-10C, AJS-37...) - so they're just all empty. Weird thing is that all keybindings works as before, no problems there. But I can't add or change anything as there is ... nothing... I also did moved the location of my DCS World to a SSD recently - so could be related to that too? Anyway, if anyone has any ideas - I would gladly hear them out. -
I had a long break from DCS but Viggen brought me back - and it has been absolute joy to fly. Not very familiar plane to me when I bought it - but the module has really made it stand out and introduced all aspects of a very cool plane! Love all the little details and specific 'viggen-only' stuff - and Heatblur has been great constantly updating & polishing the plane. And it's great to see that Viggen is not abandoned despite all the F-14 maddness going around! :) So thank you!
-
I really enjoyed playing the mission, thanks! Really hoping to see more similar kind of missions for the Viggen to fly. Loving the app too - but it seems the coordinates it gives are not correct? I got the SAM site pretty nicely located and punched the coordinates into the computer - but it was way off... luckily I stumbled upon the site on my way back :)
-
Awesome! Ive been hoping to see something like this - such a great feature of the plane, but very little use at the moment. Will be testing this and looking forwards the missions.

Why do the Viggen always end up in a ditch when running replay?
rainyday replied to Hoggorm's topic in Bugs and Problems
Same happens to me. I remember someone saying it is related to thrust reverser - using it will apparently mess the track. I have not yet tested whether thats the case. -
Yeah it's really tricky - I'm flying mach 0.9, altitude 150m, target QFE set but I can't see anything. HUD glass up or down, doesn't make a difference. If I lean over real hard over the HUD I _might_ see the top part of the HUD symbology just above the nose but usually it disappears totally.

Pop-up points, are they working? My procedure -Designate a target point (TAKT IN 9, confirm with the correct nav point) -Enter a heading and distance (for example heading 315 and distance 10 -> TAKT IN 315100, confirm with the target point). -Pop up point is created (U), I can select it but it is in the same location than the target point??

[FIXED] Precision Dive Bombing--Aim Cues Still Leaving HUD
rainyday replied to pdmarsh's topic in Bugs and Problems
@pdmarsh Haven't tested it in the latest version - but that seems very different to the procedure Viggen kneeboard suggests - 750m dive altitude and 300m release altitude, much shallower dive. Not sure where those numbers are from, though, no mention of them in the manual. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=185454 -
Thanks for this - interesting read  Have to say, Mig-23 and Mig-19 are amongst the modules I'm looking forwards the most at the moment. I've been quite unfamiliar with them before but after some research they seem like characterful and cool planes.

Viggen autopilot does not level the plane
rainyday replied to Leviathan667's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
I would check out all the DCS AXIS controls for Viggen - mine was full of unnecessary stuff that was conflicting with the flight controls. I had similar problems with F-5 module, was VERY heavily turning left before I cleaned it up. Now it's the first thing I do with a new module. Viggen should fly straight and if not having asymmetric loadout should need very little - if any - roll trim. Nose up/down trim you do need quite a bit, though. -
Previous stable version is the last time I tried.... sorry cant remember excact version but 2.5 something.

Interview with Ari Saarinen on the Saab 35 Draken
rainyday replied to Knock-Knock's topic in Heatblur Simulations
Yeah, thanks for sharing! Really like the Draken. Have seen it in many airshows, still the best 'rawest' sounds when it goes full afterburner of the jets I've seen/heard. Does not exactly turn on a dime, though :) -
Great video, nicely done!

My Viggens, don't even get up in the air - they get stuck on runway grass in replays :(

Tips for ship strikes without being detected
rainyday replied to razorseal's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
Thanks for the good tips, especially the one Retnek linked - really helpful to get an idea how it should work. -
Is Viggen shirt going to be available in the future of was it just a limited offer?
-
Actually - did not crash for me. I was expecting it after reading many posts about it in the forum, but I got to see the finish screen. And what a great - albeit short - campaign! Im still learning all the tricks Viggen has in it's sleeve, but this was perfect campaign for it. It's good to know the basics when you start - but the missions had a clear focus and target without overwhelming you. And I learnt something new about the Viggen from each mission so the construction and escalation thru the missions was just perfect! Can't wait for the actual campaign :joystick: Until then I'll be checking out the Bunyaps Red Flag campaign. But I must say - it's great that Viggen has/will have proper campaigns (ie. actual gameplay content) included with it. It was a big part of my decision when I was choosing which module to get next - and while I've completely fallen in love with Viggen as a plane (which was quite unfamiliar plane to me before this, despite the fact we finns have had Drakens...) - it's awesome to have campaigns included to put all your training to the test.
