  1. This has already been discussed here: and here:
  2. Wow, thanks for the rapid answer. This helps a lot. I am currently programming a python based mission generator and need the data to find reasonable routes (automatically). Since I just gather all useful data and process it "offline", changing IDs do not matter much. Only if something gets added or removed, I need to update my dataset. Guess I will just run over all IDs and write the relevant data to my hard drive.
  3. I wonder if there is any way to check if a specific point is blocked by a building or has trees close by. Any ideas?
  4. That is probably another nice upgrade. A force feedback base is also something to think about. But the one I found is really expensive...
  5. At least you guys are still fighting... already lost this battle against myself
  6. The alpha grip is certainly a smart investment if you plan on getting the Apache. I might consider it too if Virpil doesn't publish an Apache collective. However, I think they are probably already working on this grip, since the Apache is so popular and DCS already announced this module. It would be an absolute bestseller (in relation to other helicopter controls). Until then, I will be happy with Ka-50 grip. Will get the Uh-60 too (Hoping to get the blackhawk as an official DCS module in the future). I did a first day preorder, so I hope that I am more or less at the top of the queue, but I didn't get any updates so far.
  7. I know that that there are individual buttons for turning each autopilot channel either on and off, but I would like to have a keybind that acts like a switch to save some buttons on my button box. So everytime I press the button the on/off state of the corresponding channel changes.
  8. I was also wondering if selecting chaffs makes that much sense. I tend to take only flares since IR missiles are a more common threat that pops up without warning. Since we got a RWR, we have enough time to adjust our altitude to avoid radar SAMS. It might help if you are flying over very flat terrain or get attacked by a fighter from above. But I guess if that is the case, we already made a huge mistake during mission planning and dropping chaffs won't help that much anymore.
  9. Thanks a lot. Great video. Is it possible that you can make a by the books cold start tutorial for both seats?
  10. Yes, happend to me as well in the second tutorial
  11. That is strange. Works in my mission. Have you set any waypoints or targets after this one?
  12. As stated on the Virpil news, the first batches should be shipped end of June. Since we are getting close, did anybody already receive any news on their order? If you get some this week, please let us know. Can't wait much longer with the hind being out now
  13. So liebe Leute. Ich hoffe für euch alle, dass ihr sämtliche Termine abgesagt und euch bei eurer Familie für die nächsten 2 Wochen abgemeldet habt.
  14. Interesting, but after reading some reviews I ordered a trackball instead that I will simply strap to my leg. By the way, searching the web for "finger ring mouse" is enough to find the thing and some alternatives.
  15. Mag sein, aber du hast eh von einem Quirl gesprochen
  16. Der Ka-50 hat auch ein einziehbares Fahrwerk
  17. Guess you havn't watched a proper tutorial about how to land the hornet. Keeping it on speed is easier than in any other plane because the computer does it for you. Just make sure to never push or pull the stick once you trimmed the desired AoA. For further explanation:
  18. Don't know the answer, but I am not so sure if it is a bug for the following reason: Mavericks aren't that small either and the Tunguska has at least a search radar which helps to locate the missile. The magnification should be enough to see the missile at a sufficient distance and mavericks aren't that fast. Since it is optically guided, you don't need a lock to launch which is a huge benefit. Finally, a Maverick has a predictable flightpath. Especially if you are close to the target, the missile is just running towards you. Keeping the targetting optic centered should be easy. As I said, I don't know if my assumptions are correct, but I guess it is possible that a Tunguska can shoot down Mavericks under the right conditions.
  19. To my knowledge, the tunguska is an optical system (SACLOS) instead of an IR system.
  20. You need your flaps to be down for "fast take off trimming". In auto mode, they move very slow.
  21. Well I don't know what to say, but DCS in VR is now totally awesome... Thanks so much ED. I forgive you guys for taking all my money Some impressions:
  22. Thanks for the info. Will try it before I go to sleep
