VR Flight Guy in PJ Pants replied to BIGNEWY's topic in DCS 2.9
Unless there is another postpone announcement, today is the day. Or, either today there is a changelog or an announcement. Fingers crossed. -

And I cannot agree more on this, it is better to give a date to get ready, but we have to learn this is not a promise, nor it is final. Nobody wants thing broken out of the gate. -

One more day, one more day to prepare contents... -
Does the new version still work with the Echo19 sound pack for F/A-18E? Do we still need to "swap it out" for the original F/A-18C sound?

I think it would be beneficial to have the profile to reproduce how the stick responds to, say landing, too.

Patch notes discussion November 2024
VR Flight Guy in PJ Pants replied to BIGNEWY's topic in DCS 2.9
Normally, the patches used to appear between 15:00 to 17:00 UKT most of the time. Fingers crossed. -
Yeah, that would be great. I dunno, but the profiles presented are not made by SME either, afaik. I guess the one made for F-16C should have the least trouble. BTW, don't let some learn of this thread, or there may be trouble.

Probably not, but you can send you kids to a boarding school which solves most of the problem... -

Force feedback Joystick from Moza

Oh, the latest version is 1.0.2.14 and fix some issues. Also, here is a video on how to change the setting of the base: It is in Spanish, but I guess you won't mind. -
Not exactly. You really need a good battery pack piggybacking your headset and you will discover how fast your battery drains real soon; It has some really specific recommended display driver version being used. To be fair, it is not VD's fault, cough, NVIDIA, cough; The bit rate is rather variable, as it is recommended. If you have a dedicated WiFi network solely for the purpose, this should not be a big issue. All you need is a bit more £££. No it never reaches the speed level of dedicated USB-C line, not to mention LAN connect or Display Port. It may be the price to pay for being free from cables; and It has some really funny update practice. Last month, in the middle of combat, my headset suddenly went laggy, and then, the VD quitted and updated itself automatically, alongside with the desktop streamer. I may be my fault of not shutting down the update service. When compared to Oculus Link, I am more happy with VD. If you want to record something in VR, I would argue, it is quite easy and straight forward for DCS in VD. I cannot say for other...ah...game...I shall not name...which can be quite tricky.

It is a shame the Weather Mod is not incorporated into the main engine. -

Force feedback Joystick from Moza
VR Flight Guy in PJ Pants replied to Thunderchief2000's topic in Input Devices
I am amazed by how some people could stuff their own words into others mouth. There are tons of software historically with ethical issue we are still (forced) to use daily. Yes, I am looking at you, Microsoft. I really don't care. I don't drive a VM and I don't know how many of their drivers would care if the company works with countries with shady human rights records or the company outright cheated on their exhaust test results. I really don't care how Moza does with the software. And I Have SpokenTM. From this point onward, my post here will be only about the joy and issue regarding the base, not the company. -
Sorry if these have been covered above. There are 2 (or 3 if you may) ways to start DCS in VR in Oculus VR headset 1. Link cable via Oculus Link, you need a nice USB-C cable, which I assume you already have. Start the Oculus Windows app, with the Q3 turned on, you should be able to change the visual settings of the Q3 for PCVR. Also make sure you have set Oculus as the default OpenXR runtime, which you can find it in the Oculus Windows app under Settings -> General. Click on Oculus/Meta link in your headset and have a blast; 2. Airlink is Oculus Link without over WiFi, the things to set is about the same; and 3. Another way, which I have been using, is Virtual Desktop. You need the app installed inside the headset (not from Steam!), which is purchased from Oculus store, and a free streaming app on the PC. It has its own OpenXR runtime which claims to be more efficient. It is wireless also, and it is highly recommended the network it is on is solely used between the host PC and the Q3. I have a small router just for the setup. This solution cannot use any connection via USB nor Ethernet. Is it better? Performance wise, better; but it has its own set of issues.

Force feedback Joystick from Moza

I dunno how the bot works, but I just say, my guess is before my order is ready, we would know more about the WinWing offer. I am open to either one for I already have the Moza. As for the software issue, from one Chinese company to another, I dunno and I don't really care. -

About the wait time on the "other side", currently it is still 80+ days which has not moved for the past 2 weeks. Yes, I am in the queue like any good UK people know how to do naturally. I have no crystal ball about the WinWing one which has been hinted from time to time. By the time my VPForce order is ready, at least I think we would know more about the WinWing "ship" so I would be able to make the call. I am keeping my Moza. I am not too brothered by the software issue. As long as it can stay in the MFSSB mode, replacing my current Warthog base for F-16 style planes. I am happy. -
Cannot load the game when the mod is in. Remove the mod from the "Save Games" directory, it loads again.
