  1. Still the best and most beautyful, and also most ...well in civilian airliners we call that "study-level" when the cockpit has extreme system realism all switches simulated, sophisticated jet in my F-collection. I have noticed one behaviour of the cat that is really strange (for 2-3 times now), when loading four AIM-54, two Sidewinders and one Sparrow on the back middle rail the jet is pulling the nose up vertical into the air after taking-off and is uncontrollable and is not letting the nose down until stalling. Only when trimming the nose fully down it suddenly flies fully normal. Is this loadout somehow wrong or unbalanced? Is this normal? I think that behaviour should be vice versa with the nose not going up when not fully trimming up because this loadout looks very very front-heavy. But I never want to miss my allmighty beloved Sparrow with VSL that can unfortunately not be loaded on the two Sidewinder pylons.
  2. Low-visibility attack mission against enemy helicopters. I simulated RIO only but was not able to lock-on these helicopters slowly circling around over the airfield, even with the MLC switch ---> out trick against the notching...
  3. What could be more incredible than bringing these museum pieces back to life with 100% photorealistic ultra high polygon laser scans? I have read some times that a few developers to this now to catch all these extreme details like all the tiny cables and hoses and screws and other details.
  4. Ah thank you now I understand, this F-15 I see on YouTube was only handed out to a few YouTubers but is not yet available to buy but only pre-order. Now I am getting even more exited! When is the F-15 going to be released for us too? This month?
  5. But I want to have it now.... and not the official release in November 2078 only three months after the Fenix Airbus V2 is released when I will be long dead for decades - I want to buy that price-reduced beta version that is currently available only in DCS store but unfortunately not on Steam. I fly Microsoft Flight Sim and DCS exclusively on Steam But there is hope that the presale will land on Steam too because the Hind helicopter was also on preorder on Steam. Like the Tomcat and the Viggen, HeatBlurs newest masterpieces the Phantom and the Eurofighter will be an absolute must-have. HeatBlur delivers such amount of visual quality of the 3D cockpits with so much photorealistic attention to detail with absolute cockpit system realism it would be pure blasphemy not buying one of their precious modules! These modules are beyond precious and lovely. Yessss THAT is what I wanted to hear!! A few months ago a lot of people said this F-15 will bemore like a Flaming Cliffs and Ace Combat like arcade fun module with no real cockpit systems that´s why I have fully discarded that F-15 and never showed any interest in it nor watched any YouTube videos for months... until I found out THIS level of quality and detail last weekend, and now the purchase is already certain:
  6. When will it get released for Steam? I have just noticed how awesome the details of the engine exhaust nozzle are and how good-looking the cockpit is, and that several maintenance hatches can be opened on that plane and therefore wanted to buy... but it´s not on Steam How detailed and accurate will the systems and the functionality of this F-15 be in a few years, what do you think? Is it planned to be compared to the F-18 Hornet with new awesome cockpit features and systems implemented every few months from now on, or is it planned to be more on the simple and "Flaming Cliffs" side? (I prefer of course as realistic and complex as possible!)
  7. Finally everything went perfectly fine. Now a few small texture glitches are fixed, and the main target has been achieved: I have removed these annyoing coloured tapes all over the cockpit and canopy to have a more minimalistic and clean looking cockpit, and bugfixed a few small texture glitches The newer panels without that ugly labeling tape (of course with nice red night lighting) are also ready but I cannot get these to function properly in the cat pit. I have checked all cockpit texture files five times already and this red tape on the video panel can nowhere be found on any of the texture files - but still it shows up inside the cockpit after changing the files! So unless someone gives a little hint what I am doing wrong I cannot finish this VTR video tape recorder panel including night lighting you see on the last screenshot The new duct-tape free Catpit mod is now finished. Ehm ALMOST duct-tape free, I was not yet able to make new VTR panels. Enjoy: https://ufile.io/dr8ed3c6 Install: Open your install path with the cockpit textures of your precious flying cat, mine is: J:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\DCSWorld\Mods\aircraft\F14\Textures\Color and make a backup of these textures. Afterwards overwrite the zipped folder content from my mod. Voilá duct-tape be gone (plus I have fixed some minor small texture glitches on the clipboard-paper and on a few screws - just for the sake of perfection. Otherwise this masterpiece of art of a cockpit was left of course untouched. Sorry I don´t know how to write a description.lua that´s why my install is a little bit more direct and invasive, be aware that installing this mod will break a DCS-store bought multiplayer Tomcat. On my Steam version this little cockpit enhancement runs flawless. That´s why always make a backup before modifying anything, very important! Otherwise you have to re-download the F-14 again (not a big problem but still annoying if it happens.) I don´t fly or play anything multiplayer so be aware this this probably won´t function if you fly multiplayer.
  8. Hi pilots, I am currently giving the Tomcat cockpit a nice refresh, but some problems occured...... 1.) The HUD camera recorder panel on the right side was outstanding ugly with all this botched duct-tape labeling and does not really fit into the rest of the overall cockpit design. That´s why I have changed it to make it look better, but unfortunately I cannot find a picture of this panel anywhere on the internet to have a template ... so I simply don´t know how this panel looks like under the tons of ugly duct-tape has anyone a picture of this panel please? I really need a real picture to make a photoreal looking new panel including the red night illumination. 2.) More grimy duct tape nonsensically glued all over the cockpit ruined the canopy and the RIO cockpit frame, that´s why I have removed it. But not my HUD camera recorder panel nor my new cleaned up canopy frame (gloriously freed from all this duct-tape) is showing up in the sim when copying the new textures into my install folder: J:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\DCSWorld\Mods\aircraft\F14\Textures\Color Can anyone please tell me what I am doing wrong? Have a nice week and thanks for the tips
  9. Hello pilots, Here is the newest version of the "Black Pearl" a nice stealthy F-16 cockpit. Please make a backup of the "F-16C-CPT-TEXTURES.zip" texture folder which is the default cockpit. On my computer it is located in: J:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\DCSWorld\Mods\aircraft\F-16C\Liveries\Cockpit_F-16C Afterwards open F-16C-CPT-TEXTURES.zip and my download Black Pearl.zip, and copy my textures from inside the zipped Black Pearl folder into the F-16C-CPT-TEXTURES.zip zip file. Overwrite everything. Sorry it´s a little bit annoying to do this but my DCS still don´t accept custom F-16 cockpits chosen in the extras menu that´s why I have to replace the textures manually for the F-16. Afterwards you will get this nice black cockpit from the screenshots that is flown by some real F-16, I have seen this on some YouTube videos and pictures. Two textures with coordinates are borrowed from I think it was the Raven cockpit or another dark one, because I liked these coordinates numbers on the canopy. The whole cockpit and also the ejection seat is overhauled and way more newer and more beautyful looking with these scratches and sand-coloured dots everywhere gone. Some texture bugs of the night lighting are fixed (I think the default F-16 still has this bug that a few main panel instruments are not correctly lit, my cockpit fixes this.) Please note that these coordinates look strange when flying in 3D VR - I will upload a version without the coordinates on the canopy glass later. Sorry the grey version takes a bit longer than expected that´s why here is only the black version for now. The main computer switches are better now, the IFF switch that was labeled as "FF" in the previous upload and a few other things are fixed now. Good-looking new throttle and sidestick included. The other website stated in Firefox "that the download is risky and might contain malware" yadda yadda that´s why I have chosen a new file hoster to download this black cockpit: https://ufile.io/ti5travs Have a great night flight over Area 51! Please note that this was tested in my Steam version only and I don´t play or fly anything in multiplayer. This cockpit might break the multiplayer function when installing it and it might be necessary to redownload and reinstall the F-16. So try at your own risk testpilot By the way I need to know if the "M" button on the bottom instrument of the middle main panel, I think this is a backup VOR or TACAN gauge, is illuminated. If yes I will illuminate this switch together with integral night lighting in the next update
  10. Hi, here are the promised cockpits Download: https://www.file-upload.net/download-14844279/BlackCockpitUpload.zip.html https://www.file-upload.net/download-14844354/GreyCockpitUpload.zip.html One is a fully overhauled and cleaned grey version of the cockpit just as many older F-16 look like, and one is the stylish black cockpit of the The installation consists of two steps if you want the cockpit really perfect. Step 1: Make a backup of the default folder in D:\Steam\steamapps\common\DCSWorld\Mods\aircraft\F-16C\Liveries\Cockpit_F-16C and insert the black or grey cockpit default folder in D:\Steam\steamapps\common\DCSWorld\Mods\aircraft\F-16C\Liveries\Cockpit_F-16C. Step 2: Look for D:\Steam\steamapps\common\DCSWorld\Mods\aircraft\F-16C\Cockpit\Textures -> F-16C-CPT-TEXTURES.zip make a backup of this zip file somewhere. Insert and overwrite these files from the downloaded new default folder into the zip file of the DCS main cockpit textures in D:\Steam\steamapps\common\DCSWorld\Mods\aircraft\F-16C\Cockpit\Textures -> F-16C-CPT-TEXTURES.zip f16c_cpt_seat.dds f16c_cpt_seat_NRM.dds f16c_cpt_seat_RoughMet.dds f16c_cpt03.dds f16c_cpt03_NRM.dds f16c_cpt03_RoughMet.dds f16c_cpt01.dds f16c_cpt01_NRM.dds f16c_cpt01_RoughMet.dds f16c_cpt07.dds f16c_cpt07_NRM.dds f16c_cpt07_RoughMet.dds Otherwise the normal maps and reflective maps are not recognized correctly and there are several nasty visual glitches in the cockpit like black scratches and other stuff I have cleaned up. Oh and fagulha please send me the file you want to have implemented in the cockpit so I can do that for you and re-upload. Have a wonderful weekend!
  11. Wow! This aircraft looks impressive. An and it´s good to hear that real pilots train with VR headsets in DCS, this makes me even more proud of owning this program and my precious F-Jets
  12. Hi, maybe this might be interesting for you: https://www.file-upload.net/download-14844213/A-10ThunderboltIIWarthogSYSTEMSENGINEERINGCASESTUDY.pdf.html
  13. The best and most beautyful modules with the best cockpits are F-18 Hornet, HeatBlur F-14, and F-16 Viper. If you like helicopters the Mi-24 and the Apache are the best modules.
  14. The two-tone grey and black cockpit version is almost finished too, and will also be uploaded tomorrow evening. It features the same night lighting bugfixes as the light grey version. Finally the two cockpits for my favorite aircraft are 99% finished...... There is one texture on the aircondition behind the ejection seat that need to get the same dark gun metal grey as the rest of the cockpit, and the cockpit canopy frame will be a bit darkened for the perfect two-tone look to match the glareshield blackness. Before making my own repaint I have tested every single cockpit repaint for the F-16, and I have noticed that two of these repaints feature strange numbers (coordinates I assume) left of the HSI and on the right side of the canopy glass..... because these coordinates may lead to UFO crash sites or other mysterious discoveries in Area 51 Dreamland I have decided to add these numbers to my repaint.
  15. Hi my friends, the grey version is now almost ready, with a lot of subtle changes (mostly clean-ups and illumination bug-fixes). I need to check some details and I upload both cockpits tomorrow evening. Now the cockpit is perfectly cleaned from all these scratches and brown dots, very neat and tidy. Night lighting is completely overhauled (no longer is the cover and the base of the steering stick unrealistically completely glowing at night, and other details.)
  16. I have already made a new thread in the mods forum
  17. Can you please tell me where the SEC caution light is positioned in the cockpit? I was always looking for N1 fan rotation speed gauge climbing over 20% N1 before putting the thrust lever to idle. By the way I found another potential bug... When watching real F-16 videos the ITT temperatur rises only to 800°C or 810°C, but when I start the turbine ITT always rises to 950-980°C celsius temperature. Sometimes ITT only rises to 880°C but I haven´t found out under which conditions this is happening. Am I doing something wrong during the startup or is this a bug?
  18. Hi I already managed to find out by myself what´s wrong - it was the alpha channel. Now with the knowledge of how to illuminate stuff inside the cockpit I could also fix this bug with the whole fuel quality selector (plus the NO DATA instrument plus the empty slot) fully being illuminated in green: If you fly the Viper at night you will notice this bug. I have fixed it today, and made a whole new style of night lighting for the cockpit instruments: I have added a few nice logos into the two cockpits: Adding other details was important too, like for example this one to the right of the eject seat: https://www.xflight.de/pe_org_par_rgc_mdstowage.htm There is still literally every single square inch scattered with scratches and still a lot of clean-up to do, but the black stealthy cockpit is making good progress and the night light is finished.
  19. Well I think I go for the newest beta because the electronic countermeasures are implemented into the F-16. Oh and finally the Nevada map is loading again! Ah it feels great seeing the awesome desert landscapes again, and maybe at night an UFO over Dreamland Area 51? Who knows...
  20. Need more storage space? I recommend the awesome Western Digital Game Drives, 13 terabytes of finest data with relative fast 130mb/s write-read rate. (Not as good as an NMVe drive but still fully usable). I love the techy and prototype-like design of these drives... The computer will soon be updated with a third 2,5" WD_Black 5TB drive but they are a little bit on the expensive side so I need to wait some time for easter sales or black friday or whatnot. And some screenshots of the new dark stealthy version of the cockpit that made some progress too today. Unfortunately I need to redownload DCS because the Nevada map is not launching that´s why I cannot continue with the cockpits today.
  21. Hi, unfortunately there are no other DCS options to install on Steam but the "last Windows 7 compatible DCS 2.5.6 Final / or the newest Beta version. I am currently completely fresh installing the newest Beta version (which also adds the jammer for the F-16 after making backups of my new cockpit designs) but the download will probably need some time till midnight before it´s finished If the Nevada map won´t start with the newest Beta version I am really out of ideas.....
  22. Hmm... unfortunately this does not work. Is there anything else I should try? dcs.20220201-122724.log
  23. Ah perfect I will try it thanks for the tip!
  24. I don´t make low quality stuff full of compression artifacts and ugly low colour bit depth mach`lines ...... my cockpit repaints are always 500-800MB for Flight Sim 20 too (I often keep the work in progress Photoshop files in seperate folders so others can easily modify my repaint, that´s why the cockpit has sometimes more than 1GB), and it runs without problems on a Ryzen 5 Vega 11 APU (which means: I currently don´t have a graphics card in my computer.) Don´t worry there are no performance issues noticable on my rather weak machine without graphics card. See: No graphics card, only 2GB VRAM Ryzen 5 2400G Vega 11 - and I don´t have any performance issues whatsoever with my cockpits. The Hornet and Viper cockpit textures run with a blast on even the cheapest low and mid range graphics cards. In maybe one year these insane graphics card prices will be normalized and I will again buy a graphics card. For a normal price of 400€ - instead of 1000. In the meantime the Ryzen Vega 11 APU will be good enough. Today I managed to get the ugly deep black scratches off from the footrest, and tested black pedals black air condition grill and black ejection seat: https://ibb.co/xh4z6VP https://ibb.co/xsDtqQ5 The black ejection seat looks very good already, but I have coloured the whole file to test which dark tone fits best in the cockpit and need to take the original file, cut out all the yellow parts like the eject hand grip etc. and put these details with the original colour in again. Otherwise the yellow eject handle and other details like warning signs are to dark and miscoloured on the ejection seat: https://ibb.co/HCGbrWq Unfortunately I cannot load Nevada Area 51 for unknown reasons - so no screenshots from the Viper on the home range until this problem is solved...
