My dedicated DCS M2 is already at 1.6TB. But i still have over 2TB of room for this and hopefully qutie a few more maps. -
I'm gonna be curious how the Hellcat and Corsair AI will be, if they'll do like the German aircraft, insist on doing turn fights with the Zero, only to be shot down.

Yaah. I really really really don't get why they are waiting for the M, when the L is much better fit for all the maps we have and probably will have. I'm still hesitant about buying the Hook exactly because it's just too modern for most of the stuff I'm interested in. And it's so modern it's impossible to "fake" older models from the 60s to 90s. I don't want to drop of Eric Bana in a damn M. He deserves the L.

One of the jobs of of the GIB kn the F4 was calling out speed and altitude during bombing (going so far as actually calling out when to drop the bombs. This would be very cool and helpful. It could be activated if you have have the F4 in dive toss mod and set up the dive toss altitude. So he would count down per 1000 feet. And say pickle/pull out when you hit the altitude set in the dive toss form. Ideally he should call out speed during level bombing. So you can concentrate on attitude and drop point. But that would be harde to implement as it's not related to dive toss form.

Both the P51 and P47 ED has made are 45 models. So for Normandy and Channel map. Only the Mossie, Spitfire and Anton is appropriate. Dora, Kurfyrst, P51 and P47 are all aircraft used after Normandy stopped being combat theatre. Of course ED could expand the channel map eastward to give us the low countries and extrem western Germany and suddenly all those aircraft we have in DCS would make sense(except for the lack of 150 octane in the Allied aircraft)

I did a small missions this week. F4 takes off from Marianas and attack an airfield. I ran through the track twice and it worked fine. However after yesterday's patch. When I try and run the track one of two things happen. 1. In the track saved on my dedicated server track the F4 just stands on the runway and nothing happens (in the mission I had it on take off from runway, but since I ran the mission from a dedicated server in the mission i started in parking hot) 2. The track saved in my dcs multiplayer track folder the F4 starts on the runway. Then drives straight over the grass and parks in one of the parking spaces. So in both cases the F4 starts on the runway (as per the mission set up) but nothing like the the mission i flew or the tracks from before the patch. I wouldn't call a bug. I'm just curious if something has been done in the patch to explain the behaviour.

Based on the change log, yes they more or less did. I'm really looking forward to see how south west Afghanistan looks now.

While I think there should be just 1 WW2 assets pack(an assets pack that already works to discourage people getting into ww2 dcs) Having 2 seems like shooting yourself in the foot and almost guarantee that DSC PTO will never get as big as it could. ED says they HAVE to have a separate asset pack or they would lose money on ww2. I say if they just made the best ww2 simulator out there. People would flock to DCS ww2. And DCS WW2 would make heaps of money with no need for anything extra paid stuff. We all know what is needed to make that happen. But ED isn't willing to invest the time, money and resources to do it. What I'm most sceptical about is that PTO asset pack will go the way of the ww2 asset pack. Many promised Ai units that simply won't be made.

Is the Zero an ED AI asset or a Mag3. Several Mag3 Corsair pictures feature Japanese aircraft in the blurry background.

Yes indeed. The odd thing is the old "wrong" method worked until like last summer. Hence my confusion when it just stopped working after having worked for me for 3 years. -
Real warbirds could run WEP far longer then any modern WW2 simulator shows. The 5 minutes WEP in a spitfire or P51. Didn't mean the engine died after 6 minutes. It ment the engine took more wear and tear then the manufacturers recommend. You could run yor P51 on WEP for 15 minutes and still fly home from Berlin without any worries. It ment more work for the ground crew and ment the engine would have a shorter life span before being pulled out and exchanged. Not sure why all modern sims insist on these artificially delicate engines.

It's odd. Given real p47 pilots would dive down full power from 30k to the ground, chasing 190s. Robert Johnson describes doing this many times in his P47.

Neve done anything to break that way. The engine just dies after 2 minutes on full power. Even if I'm never below 15 000 feet and never slower then 170mph.

How do you avoid turbo overspeeding?

So shouldn't the engine be impossible to break as long as you have water injection on? I break the engine after like 2 minutes on full power with water on.

Last patch should have fixed the AI using MW50. I remember Reflected had said tried to remove MW50 in the 109 campaign to deal with AI climb rate. But have/will the MW50 be removed from the AI 109s in those campaigns were the 109s shouldn't have them(so basically all the Allied campaigns.)
