Loading Cockpit Textures and Liveries takes awfully long
Jel posted a topic in Game Performance Bugs
So since latest Stable Patch 2.9.1.48335, the loading of cockpit textures and liveries of ANY module takes really long. Before, i only noticed this in the F15E as well as the AH64, sometimes taking 10 to 20 seconds to get fully textured cockpit (i call this "long time" compared to all other modules textures getting loaded instantly). Now after 2.9 update, those modules sometimes take a solid 30seconds up to a minute to texture the cockpit. All other modules such as the A10CII, F16, etc. also got significantly higher texture loading times. I tried with DLSS but as this makes many switches and gauges look blurry, i switched back to MSAA again. So no effect here. Didn´t change anything else. System also is the same as before: I76600K, 3070, 32GB, SSD, Win10 Anybody else encountering this ? Any ideas ? -
Voice Chat mic test is fine, but sound filter test sounds terrible.

Just looked into current Stable - Mic Test still horrible -

Disable F10 map for certain clients ?
Jel replied to Jel's topic in DCS World Tutorial & Help Requests
*bump I´m still curious if and how i could disable the F10 map for certain units or groups. I´m not referring to hiding a unit - that´s already possible. What i´m planning is for a client not being able to use the F10 map at all. There are some trainings in which i really don´t want people to "cheat" navigation but rather learn how to use VOR, ADF, TCN, etc. -
Thanks, explains a lot.

Some time since i´ve piloted the Apache so forgive me if i just missed an update. I was used to be able to change between the last 2 used freqs on each comm using the double arrow freq change button. Pressing it now doesn´t do anything. What am i missing ?

Don´t finish or maybe just taking longer than expected ? From my experience, the Eagle takes quite a while to refuel.
-
Jup that´s quite common. We´ll try a simple explanation: Alpha is being measured by a small moving sensor, similar to a small wing. Imagine it like a flag in the wind. This sensor moves freely and usually follows the opposing airstream showing relation to the aircrafts pitch angle. While on the gound, there is no airstream other than maybe wind (ah and gravity - that old b*tch), resulting in crazy values
-
I guess the issue is not the fact that the structural damage occurs - which is fine when you overstress the airframe - but the fact, that you are more or less able to still fly the bird with only little effect.
-
Track File shows you taking off, then doing a left turn and crashing into the ground. Quite useless. Can you do a track or a short video and tell us what you are experiencing exactly and where it goes wrong ?
-
Not that i was aware of. Check your Taxispeed or maybe your NWS disconnect.
-
Ah if you have rounded your detent bit, there´s no need for that. In addition, the small detent zone will give you a nice "cruise" throttle setting on the A10
-
I have no such issues with any other DCS module. Just the F15E. So i may say: No sir, it must have to do with the module
-
It doesn´t hop out when you use it without the cover ?
-
That´s exactly how it should be done. Works great and also nullifies the need to remove the detent when flying the A10 For those who don´t want to change the detent themselves, the premade 3d printed ones are quite cheap to get.

Boy and i was already thinking my GPU died on me. Had the very same and first thought "lightning ? I have set clear weather..."

If you drop your externals, i don´t understand your problem. Rearming - which includes fitting new external tanks - is done AFTER refuelling. So your bird gets internal tanks(+conformals) filled up and then gets full external tanks fitted if you requested some.
-
1. Yep, noticed that too. Regarding that the StrikeEagle has quite large pockets, it takes a while to refuel. 2. That´s how all DCS modules are modeled. You will have to either drop your externals before rearming them again or you let them get removed and later back attached. This works on the F15E as well as on all other modules so far. When you refuel your jet, the external tanks usually get small ammounts of fuel, but this only until the internals are completely filled (Actually that´s how any DCS module does it). I guess the conformals won´t count here, i can´t see any fuel directed to external tanks while they are receiving. 3. Well, that is a statement that concludes of which analysis ? Are there any numbers you can provide to the devs to verify this ?
-
Noticed after several AAR, i always get my left wing external filled up first or at least way faster than the right bag. Internals and also conformals seem fine and filled balanced. You might imagine it being a pita holding right stick during refuel. Is this a known thing or did i just miss something ? I can´t see any switch to transfer/balance my externals...
-
It actually IS a thing on many airframes. Fuel tanks have a mechanic to handle/compensate for pressure and temperature changes by venting. When your fuel tanks are filled too far (or are constantly re-filled from your external tanks to the point where they just can´t hold any more), some fuel may get "vented" also I first didn´t realize they simulated this.
