Hey everyone, I wanted to share something I noticed while playing the first mission of the UH1 campaign Stormfront. I enabled the "Easy Path Finding" option via the F10 communication menu, and it worked perfectly. However, when I tried to disable it later on, it didn’t seem to take effect. The smoke markers continued to pop up even though I had turned them off through the F10 menu. It seems like this might be a bug. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Cheers!

How important are the engine condition levers after start-up? Can’t find anything useful yet. -
UH-1H Revamp by Massun92
Gideon312 replied to Massun92's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
I have always been a big fan of your mods and I am really looking forward to your new project to enhance the UH-1H Huey. Your attention to detail and craftsmanship have always elevated the DCS experience, and I am sure this project will be no exception. The idea of updating the graphical aspects with new 3D models and textures sounds fantastic. Best of luck with it, and I can't wait to see the final result! -
YOUR FEEDBACK IS IMPORTANT
Gideon312 replied to CHPL's topic in DCS: UH-1H Worlds Apart Stormfront Campaign
First of all, I wish you the best of luck with your hospital stay. I hope you recover soon! I’m experiencing an issue with Mission 1. After picking up the admiral at the harbor and needing to deliver him to HQ, I get stuck. I circle around HQ but don’t receive any further instructions once I’m allowed to descend to 200ft AGL. I’ve tried landing at the welcoming committee, but the mission doesn’t progress. Do you have any idea what I might be doing wrong, or could this be a bug? -
Agreed

Massun92´s Asset Pack - Official (update march 2024)
Gideon312 replied to Massun92's topic in Static/AI Mods for DCS World
I have a question regarding Massun92-humans mod. I've created a mission using it, which works perfectly in Single Player and on my own made server. Recently, my buddy and I rented a dedicated server, but we are unable to see the assets from this mod when flying the same mission on that server. We have installed the mods on both the client and server sides. After contacting the server owner and conducting further tests, they experienced the same issue: no assets from the mod were visible. They also mentioned that this mod works fine on their other servers and are unsure why this is happening in our case. I’ve reached out to Massun92 and he advised me to make a forum post in hopes that someone might be able to assist with this matter.- 523 replies

The thing is, they are both installed at client and server side, that’s why I don’t understand what the issue is!?

Hello everyone, I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, so admins, please feel free to move it to the appropriate section if necessary. I've created a mission that uses two mods: Sam Site Assets Pack and Massun92-human pack. The mission works perfectly in single-player mode and also when I run it on my own server. However, we recently rented a dedicated server, and on this server, none of the assets from these mods are visible. The server owner mentioned something about client-server or possibly server-server mods. I’m not entirely sure what this means or how it affects our setup. Does anyone have any idea how to solve this issue? Thanks in advance for your help!

DML - Mission Creation Toolbox [no Lua required]
Gideon312 replied to cfrag's topic in Scripting Tips, Tricks & Issues
Hi everyone , I've created a mission using CSAR DML which works perfectly in Single Player mode. However, when I try to run it in Multiplayer, I'm encountering an issue. Specifically, I can't start a new CSAR mission via the F10 menu. The "List active CSAR" mission is not available, although it is visible. I've followed both YouTube tutorials (DML adding drop-ins 1 and 2) to set everything up. Is there something I need to do to get it working in Multiplayer? Or is there something I should check to troubleshoot this issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! --- -
**Description:** The AI pilot of the OH58D Kiowa loses track of the RAD altitude when activated in mid-air. This issue does not occur if the AI pilot is first activated while the aircraft is on the ground. **Steps to Reproduce:** 1. Start an instant action mission. 2. Allow the AI pilot to take control. 3. Command the AI pilot to hover at 20 feet. 4. Observe that the AI pilot correctly hovers at 20 feet. 5. Command the AI pilot to land. 6. Once landed, take manual control of the aircraft. 7. Hover manually at 10 feet. 8. Activate the AI pilot while hovering, command him to hover/fly at 20 feet. **Expected Behavior:** The AI pilot should be able to hover at 20 feet as commanded. **Observed Behavior:** The AI pilot is unable to hover at the commanded altitude of 20 feet when activated in mid-air. **Additional Information:** - This bug is consistently reproducible. - The issue appears only when the AI pilot is activated in mid-air, suggesting a problem with altitude recognition upon mid-air activation. - This bug was initially discovered via this forum post: https://forum.dcs.world/topic/351441-kiowa-integrated-overlays-kio-wa-ai-and-mfk-overlay/?do=findComment&comment=5475024 Please investigate and address this issue to ensure the AI pilot can correctly manage the RAD altitude when activated in mid-air. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Kiowa Integrated Overlays (KIO-WA AI and MFK Overlay)
Gideon312 replied to Bailey's topic in DCS Modding
I followed the steps in DCS using the keybinds and encountered the same issue. This indicates that the problem is not related to your mod. However, I want to note that your mod is currently my preferred choice. I can switch to your mod when I’m in the air during the flight, and by cycling the BARO/ALTRAD knob, I can at least fly or hover in increments of 10 feet higher or lower. (And a huge plus is not to bind all AI pilot stuff to my HOTAS but just use the mouse!) -
Kiowa Integrated Overlays (KIO-WA AI and MFK Overlay)
Gideon312 replied to Bailey's topic in DCS Modding
Double checked if I use the latest build (with fix for DCS defaulting to BARO) I was pretty sure I toggled it yesterday, did it anyway for this test; BUT --> started the instant action free flight in the CAU map. Whenever I LAND and toggle Barandus off and on, the RAD alt which I select works as intended. (and it doesn't matter where I fly to) BUT Whenever I fly to a certain point and let Barandus take over in AIR (so not landing), the issue (below) comes up. After this point, it doesn't matter if I land --> toggle Barandus ON / OFF, toggle BARO / RAD ALT. **Reproduction Steps:** 1. AI pilot take over IN AIR - hover (or fly (it doesn't matter)) 2. Cycle BARO -RADALT (at some point even with more than one attempt) 3. Scroll to a (RAD) altitude 4. Left-click on the (scrolled) altitude —> “you want me to do what?” -
Kiowa Integrated Overlays (KIO-WA AI and MFK Overlay)
Gideon312 replied to Bailey's topic in DCS Modding
. Here is a step-by-step explanation of how to reproduce the problem: 1. **Initial Setup:** - Start by entering the cockpit. - Allow the AI pilot to take control. 2. **First Hover and RAD Altitude Adjustment:** - Let the AI pilot hover the aircraft. - Use the RAD altimeter to change the altitude. The AI pilot should respond appropriately and adjust the altitude as instructed. 3. **Manual Control and Battle Position:** - Take manual control of the aircraft. - Fly to a designated battle position. 4. **Second Hover and RAD Altitude Issue:** - Hand over control to the AI pilot again. - The AI pilot should enter a hover normally. - Attempt to set a specific RAD altitude by scrolling to the desired altitude and left-clicking on it. **Observed Issue:** - The AI pilot responds with, “You want me to do what?” and does not adjust to the specific RAD altitude. After engaging the AI pilot for the second (or more) time. - Additionally (the other mentioned issue), the AI pilot tends to climb higher than the specified +50 feet altitude. **Reproduction Steps:** 1. AI pilot - hover (2nd time) 2. Scroll to a (RAD) altitude 3. Left-click on the (scrolled) altitude —> “you want me to do what?” By following these steps, the issue should be reproducible. If anyone has insights or suggestions on how to fix this, your help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance! --- I hope this helps in explaining the issue clearly. If you need further assistance, feel free to ask! Thanks for the heads-up on changing values. -
Kiowa Integrated Overlays (KIO-WA AI and MFK Overlay)
Gideon312 replied to Bailey's topic in DCS Modding
I've been experiencing the same issues as GrEaSeLiTeNiN with the AI pilot. But to add an extra issue, I've noticed that when I turn the AI pilot OFF and then ON again, and attempt to climb or descend by +/- 50 feet, the aircraft continues to climb or descend beyond the desired altitude. This has been quite frustrating, especially during critical phases of flight, specifically when you want to mask yourself behind a cover. After some troubleshooting, I found a workaround that seems to mitigate this issue. By cycling the ALT button between BARO and RDR, the AI pilot appears to stabilize and responds correctly to altitude adjustments. Additionally, for finer control, I would love to have the option to adjust altitude in increments of 10 feet rather than 50 feet. This would greatly enhance precision in (for example) battle positions. -
